They both have their flaws yes.

Owen Evans for number 1 if we go down?

He was excellent yes. Reading that back it sounds a bit harsh because I am a Kipre fan, but his mistakes (as with Dunkleys) aren’t the standard mistakes players make they are usually absolute howlers.

On another note, I thought Marshall would be a great signing but I’m really not so sure.

I get what you are saying in that the out and out winger is a position rarely used nowadays, but as a pro footballer you should be able to cross a ball. The 3 we have can’t.

The amount of players on 20k plus who can’t play a simple pass 5 yards to a bloke in the same colour shirt is ridiculous

Simply put Donny, we have too many players that at this level are not good enough. You’re a big fan of wingers, but the 3 we have are all pretty poor. Masseys form last season was quite clearly a one off, Jacobs offers little to nothing at this level and the less said about Lowe the better.

Defensively, both Dunks and Kipre are like reincarnations of Titus Bramble but with less quality and more errors.

I firmly believe we should be mid table now. We have won games DESPITE the manager and have certainly lost games BECAUSE of the manager. No matter the outcome of our season we should start next season with a new one.

So if we stay up will that be down to Cook or despite Cook?

That Charlton result is an absolute killer, but we should have won last night.

Only as much as the win at Leeds was a killer to them.[/quote]

                I don’t doubt that

As I pointed out, not every tackles a card and if we to book every player for gobbin off we’d be able to finish games off in the soccerdome.
Good ref’s can control a game without the over use of cards. We’ve all seen it from grass root level up to Premiership level, it’s all about man management skills especially when a games not a dirty game.

If it was a dirty game and violent and cards been shown then so be it but how many times could a yellow card been actually avoided ?.
From the time he sent Dunkley off he showed 8 more in 30 minutes. Over use ? just a little.

                  Agree

Be clear on what I am saying – the referee was awful last night.

But we are very ill-disciplined. Whether Chey should have been a bit more cautious when on a yellow, the fact remains that when he was sent off we lost our heads. And none more-so than the manager.

At a time when we need cool heads we lose our rag, dive in recklessly, argue, all of which sets a referee against us, even subconsciously. And the thing becomes self-perpetuating.

Cook needs to take a long hard look at his own behaviours, and he needs to instil in the players a steely calm, even Germanic, ruthlessness of being able (a) to turn things around when they are going badly, and (b) to stay focussed when we are ahead.

I commented last night that when you know a referee is booking players for dissent then simply don’t argue with him, but it’s easy to say and very hard to do especially when you’re in an almost must win game.

                      4/6 to go down
                      11/10 to stay up

Relegation boat starting to pick up speed now rather than drift now in my view.

Not to back stu up or anything but why are we allowed to pick on the ref today?

As for the game….I suggested Jacobs start tonight but will be the last time I do that. Dreadful. Offered absolutely nothing.

Question regards Moore….who actually thinks he’s a goalscorer? Naismith smashes a superb ball across the box 2nd half and the guy doesn’t move. Garner (and Grigg) would have buried it. They had 1 chance and scored 2 goals.

don’t believe he’s brave enough to start both Garner/Moore

                            Although he’s done it before…..

A win would be huge to drag them into it and hopefully pull within a point of Charlton. I think we’ll get a much better display than we did on Saturday.

I have a bad feeling he’ll play Naismith at left back despite us having 2 specialists in that position, with Dunkley and Kipre in the middle.

If there is an issue with Robinson then so can I

He’s done it 2 or 3 times so not beyond the realms of possibility.

A front 3 of Joffy, Garner and Moore would be tremendous but I doubt we’ll see that.
