Probably pay over the odds now though as they know we have 10m in the bag and need a LB.
We’ve established, well I have, that he didn’t want to sit next to Horc for 90 minutes so we will end it there.
Lostock will definitely be back. Wouldn’t surprise me if he isn’t at Leeds on Saturday.
I was ready for walking out when Gelhardt was subbed off.
Somehow, tonight was typical Latics
Why? What exactly did Gelhardt contribute?
He was no better, or worse, than anyone else up to that point, apart from playing in Robinson in the 1st half. But as we were on top I had visions of him linking up with More to win the game. I never expected the subs to have such a dramatic effect, why would I after this season so far?
Credit where credits due, the subs worked, Jacobs looked fresh, Lowe scored, we held on.
The booing when Gelhardt was subbed was totally unnecessary and unwarranted.
I thought so too but I fully expected it. Cook can’t do anything right at the moment and even if we manage to survive (im probably 51/49 that we will but most of the 51 is heart ruling head) I doubt he will get any of the credit.
The points scorers for match sixteen versus Sheffield Wednesday are –Zeb2 9718- (41 off) 5 points
grumpy – 9812 – (53 off) – 3 points
Nuneatonlatic – 9950 – (191 off) 1 pointI meant 9720 horc not 9270
As windass has shown, a good player in scotland isn’t necessarily a good player.
Spot on JR.
If you remember too Williams was down injured when the board went up.
But Morsy signalled “hang on” to see whether Williams needed to go off, considering that something different may be needed.
He did go off – but Gelhardt was still subbed. Cook had made his decision, and come hell or high water Gelhardt was coming off for Jacobs, no matter what the impact of Williams having to go off was going to make to teh formation. Incredibly stubborn – or else unable to think “on the hoof”.At first I actually thought they had held up 38 rather than 30.
I’m sure you’ve seen plenty worse in your time Lostock. You used to go to all the aways back in Jewell’s first season when we were getting stuffed at places like Wrexham with players walking round with their hands in their pockets. Much worse of an experience than we are seeing now.
Are you sure the problem isn’t sitting next to Horc for 90 minutes?
Wednesday were shocking, like a lot of the teams we’ve seen.Could this be the turning point as we’ve really got nothing to fear in this league.
The team just needs a shot of confidence and hopefully that was it. Leeds away isn’t the ideal next game but is essentially a free hit.
It’s a start but all to late I’m afraid I’m already looking at other results and teams around us win we are fooked.
It very very likely is much too late grumpy but we at least saw a Latics team roll it’s sleeves up and fight for a win ( first in almost 4 months at home )rather than collapse as the clock ticked towards 90 minutes.
Would rather see that for our remaining games and at least leave this dreadful division with some pride and prepare for a hopeful bounce back next year.
Why is it? We’re 4 points behind Charlton who I think have picked up only 8 points in there second half to the season. It’s a 4 team mini comp for me Stoke and Huddersfield were never really in it
Charlton are doing exactly what we did last season. A great start after the euphoria of promotion but now they are more or less i their true position in the division. We just have to hope we can catch them.
It hit his head and went in.
Actually it didn’t.
You could see he definitely flicked it back.
A skilful goal.
Like others, I was on the point of saying to my son that you could never see Lowe scoring, and he does that!
And to be fair, the team showed some passion in teh second half after a poor first half, and they genuinely seemed delighted at the end.
Naismith rallying the troops at the end
It could be another ‘Three are worse than us season.’Isn’t that the idea? If they’re worse than us then we’re equally better than them.
I’d brought him off 4 times and he did that
Missed a cracker
I hope this is nothing more than a rumour. If not, how many fookin midfielders does he want ??
Well considering many contributors here spend their time slating the midfielders we have for going sideways and back, maybe we’re looking for one who can make a difference and get the ball quickly forward to our striker(s) as you all keep asking for.
Seems too easy. Must be a catch
