To be fair we were hardly looking over our shoulders last year, mostly it was looking over the should of the teams in front of us.
Aye that was sort of what I was implying but worded it a bit daft.
I honestly saw them first fixtures and thought straight away top after three games!
Now it may not transpire that way but thats the best start to a season we’ll ever get, opportunity to get points on the board, confidence up and not having to look over our shoulders like we seemed to do all last season.
We always get killer runs at some stage, as does every other team in the league. We’ll be reet.
Might be a New Order fan…Bit of “Temptation” on the blower.
I find myself having to defend (a little bit) Doherty here, yeah he’s a bit of a sh1t who wears daft clothes, but he and the Libertines made some of the best tunes of the noughties….

and OP Cheryl Cole, dint she win X Factor or something. :snooty: (BTW, not a fan, well one would but thats for another thread!)
Stick Gohouri at left back, and put Stam at right back. I’m sure I have seen Gohouri play there once this season and he seemed to do alright.
it is a disgrace that he is still on our books as a player. He was never good enough back in the day
The only disgrace is that comment. Never good enough back in the day? Please provide your supporting evidence.
I’ll provide mine in his favour.
Everytime he was called upon he never let us down. His form kept John Filan out of the starting 11 in our first season in the premiership. His performance against Arsenal at Highbury in the semi finals arguably kept us in the game to help us reach our first major final in our history. He is by all accounts a good guy and a positve influence around the dressing room.
Show alittle bit of respect.
Agree with all of that. That first season in the Prem he was immense for us. Some folk have short memories.
I thowt the words were
Victor, oh Victor Moses is running down the wing, give it to victor, give it to victor, give it to Victor etc
Surely better than ner ner ner ner ner?
Anyway it sounds like that in’t west.A far better version but I feel that it would only confuse the masses, taking the total of words used in the song to eleven.
Aye could be, I think the Concert Secretary when I was there used to have two daughters who worked there as well, although I could be getting my wires well and truly crossed.
I used to work at Goose Green Labour Club about 14 years ago. Without doubt the biggest night was when the Gutter Band used to play on a Friday night. They used to have some fella who would play his guitar whilst attached to some sort of rotating circle. I forget the exact mechanism. Lots of ale fueled nights since my teen years.
Bet they’re not as popular now eh?
Griff did your uncle use to live at Hawkley?
I bet he starts and scores two in 3-0 win.Griff
Eternal optomistThink this is the only season where I have actually thought that we will give them a game. In saying that I don’t think we’ll get a result, but I don’t think we’ll get a hiding either for once. Griff will you be having a few quid on your prediction?
A massive 3 points for us that. Great performance as well, 4 points in a few days. Things are looking up. N’zogbia was quality again, what are the chances we can keep him in January?!It wasn’t a great performance at all, first half we were bad. Simple as that. Second half we were much better and I thought Moses had a very good 45 mins and finished his chance very well. We were still hangin on at the end again. But three points in the bag. We needed em.
Mr Selleckhunt funny you should say that as I actually do live in one of them aforementioned countries. I wouldn’t say I was a particular liberal person, they all shaft you in the end as Mr Clegg has done to the students and lecturers who he lied to in order to garner votes. I’ve actually never voted for any political party.
I agree with you that the Government should be balancing the books after the mess that the last one left behind, I also think that the students have a right to protest, along with the lecturers at what the Government is doing. A six grand tuition hike just isn’t cricket and its something that no other students from any other country in Europe has to do.
Should have had water cannon and CS Gas used on them. Rioting just because they can’t have gap years in Thailand and Aus anymore or go skiing during half term. Diddums!Living up to your name somewhat. Why shouldn’t they protest, Mr Clegg only got his face in Parliament by promising that he would have nothing to do with hiking up Tuition fees, and thereby getting shed loads of students and lecturers to vote Lib Dem. Now some students will have to face paying nine grand a year in tuition fees. Up six grand on what they pay now. Something that students in France, Germany and as the good man touched on before me touched on, Scotland don’t have to do.
I agree with Truelatic, I think they have more than a point. Tis a shame the masses get their filters out and all you hear is Bloody Students.
There’s a new mode of transport that’s just starting to take off, its called a coach.
The tickets for the actual game are only a tenner. The coaches cost around 20 quid. So a Cup Quarter final against one of the best teams in Europe costs around 30 quid, travel and ticket done.
Bargain IMO.
Good luck with that Griff, wish I could make it myself. Anything like the last Cup Game against the Arse(nal) and you’ll be in for a treat.
