      Youre right trueblue 83.
Why does someone suddenly decide to post a thread about the two seperate clubs? Seems strange dont you think?
I detest thugby and its fans for the way we were neglected, simple as that. Ask a favour in desperation and get told to fook off.
Im a Wigan Athletic supporter and thats it, the only thing I would use a cherry ribbon for is to wipe my arse.

Any how, were Wigan Athletic, a Premiership football club in our own right. Blow the egg chasers, no need for them on this board and certainly no need for them at our ground.
They do contribute towars our bills though and the sales of pies at a rugby match mean they are just about worth having as tennants.

To stop your confusion. I despise the egg chasers. Ever since they **** on us from a great hight.
Take a look at the Chubbies message board. Lets remember, this isnt just football fans, the chubbies take delight when we lose. The 9-1 defeat to Spurs, nothing else was on the chubster board.
But as I say, it has nothing to do with that.

Asking me to support a club who were willing to watch my club rot is a no go, sorry.
Why did we not exist before 1995? Please tell me, why were we getting 1500 fans and the rugby 15000? There was no hatred until we were made the but of jokes, yet those people still chose to stay away.
On the DW, there is nothing to stop a rugby fan going. Chants about rugby ceased in 1995. Let’s remember, more Wiganers watch Wigan Athletic than Wigan Rugby now, that’s how much people are bothered.
A lot of Wiganers are glory hunters, people who choose to go out of town to support others. Do you think my hate of Man Utd would stop them attending a Latics v Man U match?
No matter how long ago, Wigan rugby as a club and it’s fans were happy to see us unable to pay players wages. The fans could afford Wembley almost every year, but couldn’t spare a couple of quid in our hour of need.

              TicTicTic:
So you was there then? Why were you the only one?
Was you there when we played Leeds in FA cup after being snubbed by thugby?
Like you say, 2 different sports. But they’re more than happy to share with Latics when the shoes on the other foot aren’t they? When they’re on the edge, suddenly Latics are more than welcome.
I hate the egg chasing trash, my choice.
You reckon thugby would have been as accomodating if we have been to them? Already answered.
Go to thugby in your Latics shirt. I have been and got ruined.
I’m more concerned about Liverpool and Utd glory hunters than egg chasers not coming to OUR stadium!

Wigan Athletic are my team…….Wigan Rugby League are my team………………

                So whats wrong with that?

                I love rugby and I love football…..Is that a sin?…… Is that a crime?

Not being funny and nor am I insinuating anything. Just wondering, was Wigan Athletic your team in the late 80s or early 90s. When we stood outside Springfield rattling buckets to save us from disaster and the day a Latics day was organised asking Wiganers to turn up to save us, was you one of those within the 1500?
If the answer to those questions is yes, fair enough. But don’t you think calling Wigan One Town when one set of the sporting public are more than willing to watch the other go out if existence is wrong?

Their biggest gripe on lfcreds.com and other forums, seems to be they were set out too defensively.
                  Liverpool setting out defensively against us? Thats what you call a proper compliment. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

This was written by Echo. Read the responses from Liverpool fans underneath, like the one below, and the arrogance disappears. Fair play to Liverpool fans.

Mr King asks (of Wigan) “But are they really a Premier League club?” Yes, they are there on merit as they came second in the Championship a few years ago and won promotion, and have not been in the bottom three at the end of the season since then.

They are far from the best team in the league, but realise that they do not have a God-given right, like other teams I could care to mention.

Liverpool were beaten by a well organised and more motivated team. Well done Wigan

Watching Sky as I post this, Everton v Hull. When we played Everton I was left sick of missed chances at half time, thought we battered them but just couldn’t score.
Hull are being ripped apart, they won’t be blaming missed chances.
Zaki looks crap (watch him score now) doesn’t look interested and his name is rarely mentioned.

                      20: Pompey

                        Place & time?
Those who don’t wish to need not turn up, but I for one would. Have to take a few pics to post on here as well.

he has to go if he keeps playing 4-5-1

Considering that’s your first post, not much of an introduction if I may say so.
Regarding the post, he has to stay until seasons complete any way, so let’s now save opinions until then.
A bit of hope for you to cling to, Paul Jewells first season was a disaster, losing to Canvey Island in FA Cup as well.
The rest, as they say, is history.

Do you remember under Jewell? He would occasionally play 4-3-3 when we were playing the likes of Man Utd.
Used to drive people mad, always glad to get back to 4-2-2. You can see yards of space on the wing, but the winger doesn’t take advantage of this.
The likes of Man Utd can afford to play 4-5-1 as they have enough quality within players. Sometimes when attack minded, you will see a formation change.
The value of traditional wing play has been there for all to see in Man Utds last two games.
MOM Valencia and putting the ball on the strikers head. Utd couldn’t break through, until the traditional winger comes on.
We don’t have enough quality to take teams like Arsenal on at their own game.

Stopped smoking a few years ago, so flying bottle is out now. The ultra low ceilings and still people smoking make me heave now.
Miss the odd battle on a Saturday night though. lol

With regard to meeting the members:
Dont know how many would turn up, but would the DW be an option. What I mean is the Italian at the ground, watch a game from box and then meet the players afterwards.
I have done it twice for a birthday and it’s great and would add to the occassion.
Obviously not free, so don’t know how many would be willing.

Regarding badges, one of them is like Filmoss avatar, a couple are just Wigan on England flag or WAFC followed by different quotes and most are badges collected from away matches. Like Fulham v Wigan with a date and division.
Also, there are badges with reference to pubs in Wigan and Standish.
You can have badges made, like I had one made for Last Orders in Standish when it was Bears Paw.
