Get behind the team
Get behind the team
Get behind the team
Get behind…..Then you see those spouting don’t even go.
I can cheer, clap, boo, moan, sing, chant or what ever because I earn it by supporting the club, especially during it’s most important games.
Those fair weather fans who turn up when it suits, should keep opinions about supporting Wigan Athletic to themselves.23 April 2010 at 3:10 pm in reply to: 600 tickets sold for a game which can decide our future #30475You mean you went to give the lads your support?
Congratulation, be calling you a regular next.
Heard much cheering or booing out of Wigan this year?
The ones who always spout about great support are always those to be found wanting in the end.

Hold my head high knowing I “support” the team, not just coming on here to say I do.
I hope so.
If they lose tonight and we beat them, how would you feel about the Hull game? Would you be happy to see us lose that one if it sent Spam down?
I would definitely.thought we were the better team 1st half gave away a soft goal just before half time, yet again some of the reffereing was a disgrace we played against 11 men and a ref at times today, thought ghouri was solid never committed his self.I have said all season i will not judge bob,he said when he came i need 3 transfer windows and next season pushing for top 8,i think we are 3 players short of been a fantastic side we have just beaten a team who were pushing for the champions league, perhaps the darkside will get off bobs back, how many of you are prem managers again :!: and it says it all when Kaiber wenger says he has no complaints about the defeat :D
agreed although i wouldnt say the first goal was soft as in a well placed pass typical Aresnal goal the second goal was shocking but overall we got three points cant ask more than that
Who did “Aresnal” play? :D
I can see where you’re coming from, but i meant our whole season didn’t depend on that one result. Although it did help alot. I hope now the pressure’s off the players a little, maybe they’ll play better in the remaining games as a result. On the flip side they may do what they did last season and start their summer holidays early. Hopefully the later is incorrect.
Our whole season didn’t relye on that result but i think it went along way to preserveing our season
Unlike your spelling, thank goodness. :D
18 April 2010 at 9:35 pm in reply to: The last 10 minutes today should finally open Martinez eyes #29924As with the game against Burnley, Moses had a huge impact when he came on. He made our first goal look so simple. All season we have been crying out for real wing play and this lad can certainly give you that. Speaking to Arsenal fans after the game, they were commenting on how quick he was and the difference he made.
Ben Watson played great. Could never understand us letting him on loan whilst keeping Gomez, but there you go.
We look so much better with the proper wing play, getting balls in the box and setting up chances.
Sorted now though I think. I hope Martinez uses the remaining fixtures to try new things. If we come out at West Ham next week with one up front and no Moses etc, I will be dissapointed.
Although we should be safe, the Spam game is a massive fixture for Hull. Hopefully we will help them survive and condemn the southern cheats.A transitional period?
The plonker gets a striker in the transfer window as we were woefully short and picks a young lad who he doesn’t play.
Which other manager brings on a striker in the 88th minute?
Players have great games and theyre dropped, players have catostrophic games and theyre in the team again.
A mixture of youth and reserves of the worst team in the league and we can’t manage anything. Our record against lower league opposition this season tells its own story.
Blackpool: A 4 goal humiliation
Notts County: A reprieve after a draw at county, so what do we do? Play 1 up front again and embaress the club.
Pompey: A 4 goal demolition away and considering the team they fielded, even worse at home.
How many games have we been cruising until the Martinez team talk and ‘tactical’ substitutions have had their way.
Any how, defend Graham Barrow. A bloke sacked at every single club he has been including Bury, Chester and amazingly even us.
From April 2007 when he was sacked at Chester, suddenly he is coach of a Premiership football club.
Rodallega (striker)
NZogbia (Left Midfield)
Scharner (Centre Back)
You can defend Martinez or who ever all you want, but in my 30 years of watching Wigan Athletic, I have never before witnessed such boring, inadequate football. Never have I been left so confused over a managers decisions. It’s not a clearout of players what’s needed, it’s a clearout of management.
Manager: Roberto Martinez
Asst: Graham Jones
Coach: Graham BarrowThe Graham Barrow almost beggers belief. Let’s be honest, if Roberto Martinez gets Graham Barrow believing he can coach a premiership football team, is there any more proof needed that he’s clueless?
Did you go v Pompey?
All 3 Wigan stands “blue army” in tandem. The “come on Wigan” was out. The drums and Wigan shouts were out. The “we are staying up” made an appearence. Even “Roberto Martinez” got a shout. More so, “Jason Scotland” got a chant. Moreno was welcomed like a God and nearly lifted the roof off the DW.
The support given to Latics in the second half was great, not often you get West standers up on their feet joining in with chants.
May be you mean the fans showing displeasure at the end of the game, certainly not before as when the additional time was announced the “come on Wigan” began again.
Do you think the team should have been cheered? Against the bottom club in the league, 4-0 against their first team and 0-0 against a selection of their reserves and youth at home. The team gets more support now than it ever has. Sadly, the boring football Martinez has us playing does nothing to get the supporters going. How many times in a match do you find yourself off your seat in anticipation? It took Pompey 2 passes to hit our area, it took us 22 with passing backs and countless readable cross field balls by Bramble to NZogbia. These balls are great if the bloke receiving it isn’t man marked. The frustration more than anything is at the manager. What Graeme Barrow coaches the team God only knows.
Or do you mean the support on the Internet message boards??????
Yaaaawwwwnnnnn………P@P@ L@Z@ROU
That post was spot on. Most fans are feeling the same.
Hard work, commitment, desire, strategy, all things missing.
Wigan Athletic have always been hard to play against, what we miss in quality we make up with hard work, but not under Martinez.
Stay up of go down will have no bearing on me getting a season ticket. His position at the end of July will decide it.Remember Rodallegas best game and a stunning goal at Villa?
Rodallega had been played on the left wing for a long time, but this game he wasn’t.
This season, the hope was that Rodallega would carry on what Zaki started. Would Martinez have had Zaki on the wing?
It’s constantly said and reported Wigan fans booing the team, It isn’t the team, it’s the manager.A bad game????????????
Have you not watched all season? A shot that goes for a throw, defensive errors, absolutely crap.
Our longest serving player you say.
That’s because nobody else wants him, he has expressed his desire to leave for seasons.
Worst set of fans? ha ha ha ha ha
You obviously watch no other teams.Funny after the match, Fergy moaning about German players surrounding ref. His team are the worst for it, at last a taste of his own medicine.
ha ha, great minds think alike.
