Mad is not the word!
My first ever Latics game was 31 years ago this week and i have witnessed some sh/t performances over the years without a doubt.Torquay at home in 1980-81 (0-3) Gillingham at home (0-3) 1994-95,Mansfield at home( 0-4) 1995 Millwall at home (0-2) 1998-99 Bolton (0-4) 2010 but what i witnessed last night is the most inept gutless performance i have ever witnessed from a Wigan Athletic team.To say im annoyed is an understatement and i agree with the poster above and i know how he feels.
I like a few thousand others let rip at the final whistle because i am pig sick. Its the lack of basic organisation and motivation of this football team and the blatant disrespect these players are showing to the hard working supporters of OUR football club with their abysmal performances this season. The club is sinking fast and relegation is now a looming possibility in what is probably the worst quality Premier League EVER!
I actually saw Martinez clapping as somebody gave the ball away can you imagine the likes of Jewell or Bruce doing that????
Still seething!
Enough is enough! Also had an argument with some Rugby League sh’t at the next window.started rantin about Latics and said he hoped they get relegated and have 2000 watching  –
i felt like slapping the clown-bitter is not the word!Very very annoyed!
Booked my foreign holiday around this game and now they have shifted it with three weeks notice. An absolute disgrace but that is what you get all the time in the Premiersh’t. :evil:America????
Ashton town,Skelmersdale utd and Barnsley more like. The Premier is seven rich clubs fighting to get in the Champions league and 13 poor clubs fighting to avoid relegation. The other 13 play poor football and (Latics excluded)charge a ridiculous price to watch.
I hate that club with a passion i really do.
Its the whole thing those irritating poncified yellow and green scarves against what exactly and their happy clappy corporate fans? The club has been a blatant capitalist regime for years and years in my view more so when Edwards had it but now its a problem when an American constructs a business deal that makes him and his family as much money as possible(it happens elsewhere IN FOOTBALL doesnt it?).
That horrible red faced sh/t with his complaints when not enough time is added (when they are losing) and too much(when they are winning) and the whole irritating media thing that they are some sort of unofficial national team that we should all applaud.
He started this ridiculous time keeping system that we see today with his feckin stop watch all those years ago and i hate the blatant gamesmanship that is displayed from his players and himself every time they play.
I hope for footballs sake they dont win the league and i hope Glazer bleeds them dry to send them back to obscurity.
IT CANT COME SOON ENOUGH!Keys and co last night looked and sounded very p/ssed off after that result. It was almost like the faces of parents after their son had lost his school cup final.
He would be sold off before he could sit on it!
Whichever direction you enter the town centre at the moment it’s a disgrace, boarded up buildings, stupid road systems, filth and scumbags, I love our town but it’s time to change the people who run it, immediately !
That’s not just Wigan, it just about sums up most of the North West.
Had a holiday down in Dorset last summer. Different world. Bournemouth was almost like being abroad….and I don’t mean because of all the Poles and Czechs, etc! (can’t recall seeing any. Just a really top British holiday resort) The beach was on a par with anything I have seen in Europe, and wasn’t far behind the one we were on in Jamaica. Just a totally different attitude and feeling about the place.
But even nearer to home, in Lancaster, there is definitely more optimism. Visit the place quite a lot, as the wife hails from up there. New businesses, new buildings being thrown up all the time, just a good ‘get up and go’ vibe about the place. A small city, that hasn’t been stereotyped as everywhere else with just the ‘same old, same old’ shops and chains. Still an air of individuality about the place. Lived up there for 2 years, and it was boss.
I have to admit, parts of Wigan DO resemble something from the blitz, at the moment. That old run-down building near Franco’s Italian, is a disgrace. Either flatten it, or renovate it, for pete’s sake! And they also bring out ‘Free swimming for all’…..just as they are demolishing the baths!
Some bright sparks about, eh?[/quote]
I visit lancaster quite a bit with my work and i agree it is a smashing little city with fine architecture and a laid back atmosphere. It does have its downsides though with a couple of grotty sink estates hidden away.
Morecambe its next door neighbour is a complete sh/thole loaded up with the usual chavs and single parents ,druggy scrotes that we see in towns all over the north west.I was there this afternoon and was dismayed at the rot and decay that seems to get worse every time i visit.I hope we stay up if only to p/ ss the vultures in the media praying for our demise.I was listening to Talksport(or was it TalkWestham?) this morning with Mickey Quinn and Mark Saggers presenting.Saggers kept banging on about west Hams plight and dropping little bombs about Wigans league position.
I was surprised and disappointed that Quinn never stuck up for us or at least i never heard him while i was listening especially when he got his break in football at Latics.
It seems the media wants us to go down without a doubt so i hope they dont get their wish.Any Wigan RL who has attended games during their recent dark period gets my total respect as a true supporter of the club.
The hate stemmed from JCL’s who attended the Wembley finals only in the 80’s and 90’s and wore the crappy Elgreen jackets and what have youCome on Everton!]
Burnley are done for without a doubt-so only one place left.I have a good feeling for tomorrow now a win would mean virtual safety.
A point at the very least surely? He is a good player but he is also one greedy g@t and gives the ball away too much.If he wants to go let him as long as we get the right price.
Victor Moses looks an ideal replacement if you ask me and he rarely gives the ball away either.
I also dont think we will be relegated this year and i fancy us to win on sunday as we are due an away win if you look at the statistics.leading the way on cheap tickets again and a good idea to boost the crowd at these very important games.
-about time some of the other clubs followed suit. -
