RIP
Great playerClubs like Forest would want a big name anyway which with the utmost respect is not Leam.
You have recent ex premier league managers like Howe and Wilder out of work at the moment and many more besides and the shelf life of a sacked manager getting another job is very short before they are forgotten and out of the game.
The list of big name managers who have been sacked and faded out of the game is massive.
Paul Jewell , Ian Holloway , Steve Mcclaren ,Alan Curbishley are just a few examples and i could go on and on.
I would change the rules and insist a club has to give a minimum of a two year contract and only revoke in event of gross misconduct.
Everyone would know where they stood and the normal cycles of winning and losing would take place without people becoming hysterical.
The best managers in the history of the game where given time to build up their teams Alex Ferguson, Bill Shankly,Matt Busby , Brian Clough and our own Paul Jewell are a few examples.Accrington played really well and gave 100% but totally outclassed and there is not much else you can say.
We looked like a championship team today and that was one of the best performances I have seen from a Latics team for many a year.
Only gripe is it could easily have been 8 or 9!Watch the highlights tonight and it’s happening everywhere now.
Not good and infantile and stupid , yellow cards should be dished out for it more than taking your top off to celebrate !
Could easily stop it , surprised the authorities let it go and punish for far less .Thoughts with them, horrible situation , chasing the dream of the premier league is very expensive and failure commonplace.
The parachute payments ensure its an even tougher task now .
Good luck to their supporters in the struggle ahead.8543
doubt it very much given his limited experience why would he leave a club he is building to go to one who burn through managers like they do ?
34 different managers according to wiki since clough left in 1993 which is one every 8 months !!!
We have had 19 different appointments in the same period , one every 1 and a half years.
The bookies have Chris Wilder as the favourite for the job at the moment , an impossible job that one it seems.Didn’t play that well but brilliant when that happens and you still get the result.
Never for one moment felt they would get anything other than a win after the second goal went in.
But for their keeper and some shocking finishing it could easily have been five or six , certain Wyke will get going soon.Ipswich have had too many managers and are struggling for that reason in my view. Cook is a slow burn manager and will need time to impose his will however a 2-5 home defeat against our ‘obsessed with hating us ‘ pals from Blackrod will most certainly not have helped matters.
sort of result you wonder if he has issues in the dressing room, real problems if he has.
He does though has a few promotions on his CV from the bottom two divisions so they would be a fool to pull the plug on him , he will need a season at least.9250
Everybody talking about play offs however after 5 games it’s now a prediction of top two from me.
Didn’t play well yesterday but still beat one of the promotion favourites with a clean sheet.Never that good when its a team from the same division other than you might progress to next round more easily.
Wanted Everton or Liverpool as it would have been another local derby and there was something great at seeing the lively Bolton away support the other night which created a great atmosphere.
A bit disappointing especially as Blunderland have a fairly decent record at our place historically.10783
