A good idea and with the extra money all the premier league clubs are receiving long overdue in my opinion.
I’d want a free ticket thrown in though to endure those dullards from the potteries.McCarthy is an attacking midfielder while Mcarthur is a defensive midfielder and they both complemented each other on the field like twins even almost sharing the same name is an incredible irony.
Not sure Mcarthur is the same player without McCarthy and I’d be surprised to see a premier league club came in for Mcarthur other than to reunite him with his midfield partner.
INot sure McCarthy would go to Sackspur as they are a smaller club than Everton in my opinion although they do have delusions of being much bigger than they actually are but the lure of Man utd would be too big for any player especially with Van Gaal as
Seems to be a lack of interest for James Mcarthur although I heard rumours a while back that Burnley were interested in him which means we have a very good chance of keeping hold of him.Good friendly and a good win against a team who will compete in the champions league this coming season.
I think a chant of ” it’s just like watching BEECH HILL” would be more appropriate when we are playing well than them after that joke of a performance last night!
Germany deserve to win it after that last night –No loss moving any fixture against Dulham – wonder whether they will bring fewer than the two bus loads they used to bring in the prem.
Nothing club never won a stitch!I am not a fan of Rugby. League in any way shape or form and the crumbling of the ‘rugby town ‘ myth over the past ten years has given me great pleasure although certain tacky radio stations still adhere to it.However that aside I recognise that certain RL players have legendary status because they didn’t get paid a huge salary and had their heads smashed regularly to please people from Ince,Scholes and Whelley.
Billy Boston is like George Best in that he excelled in the sport when TV sport was in its infancy in the late fifties and sixties and he undoubtedly worked his tripe off for Wigan RL and is rightfully a legend of this sport.He probably wouldn’t be known in other parts of the country but he most certainly is known in the rugby league heartlands of Lancashire and Yorkshire as a true legend of the sport.
No sporting figure from this town has had the same impact he had and no sporting figure has shown the dignity and humanity that Billy displays to the general public when he is out and about.
I saw him once outside the ground after a stuffing by somebody or other and he smiled and said hello as he probably does to anybody who acknowledges him.
decent bloke,brilliant sportsman and worthy of a statue in my opinion!I am looking forward to Roslers first full season and relishing all the big games against Bolton,Leeds,Blackburn,Blackpool etc .
Not missing the Premier league at all and yes it fills the coffers but we are back in a league that has some soul and I am looking forward to games against the above far more than I ever would against teams like Swansea,Hull, Sunderland and Stoke.
a pity some people haven’t renewed but I doubt we would have seen a mad rush had we been promoted back to the prem .The commentator has a voice like a strangulated cat and comes out with annoying matey isms like against Uraguay ” are you all ok at home?” I think he said

It’s only a football match FFS and given England’s dismal performances in these tournaments over the past decade or so hardly a big event even in a World Cup!

Can’t see any lucrative friendlies for Blunderland, Dull city, qDR or Burntlee – dear me the TV companies are going to have a job selling some of these games next season.
Not forgetting there will be three less European fixtures this season.A home friendly against a top side should be part of the pre-season. Maybe there’s still time to see if Burnley, QPR or Hull City fancy sending an XI over before their season starts.

no excuses for trying to gain an advantage – it’s cheating end of story and it about time the refs came down on it ( won’t be holding my breath ) as it is spoiling a once great game.
