Relegation battle is all he has to look forward to after that showing.
I like his half Bolton half Brummy accent almost like he cant work out where he is from.

At least they have stopped playing that annoying (nah nah nah nah nah!) ice hockey style music after a goal is scored which i think wound opposing fans and players up alike.
It was taking the mick on a grand scale and made us look small time so the goal celebrations feel very natural and last longer in my view.
Dont forget the town is very famous for its soul music past and the ‘lets hang on’ song reflects that.Far better than One Direction trackss or some other naff pop idol cr@p.

He held up play really well yesterday and i can see 15 goals from him this season. If i have a moan about today it was conceding that late goal when we had totally dominated the game and it seemed they had switched off at that point.
West Ham on that showing will certainly be in the relegation mix this season despite what their ass kissing media mates say.

I cant see him dropping down the leagues like some have done-he doesnt need to do that.
He is better getting on the telly as a pundit and milking that for a few years.

I think the pundits couch and after dinner circuit is his most likely destination now and it is sad to see his management career fall away like this.
He should have never left Latics in 2007 especially after keeping the club in the prem so magnificently in May that year.
I wish him well and hope he can stay in the game in some capacity.

Boyce should be made captain in my view.
We usually do well against direct teams and i think we will get our first home win this saturday

21-year-old Leeds fan Aaron Cawley jailed for four months for assaulting Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland.

I feel for his poor family who will no doubt be very upset, ashamed and suffering at the moment because of his stupid actions.
No matter what we think of him he is somebodies son/brother and he has messed his young life up trying to act hard in front of his mates.
I have a son around his age and he attends football matches in a good high spirited way like most lads his age but i know deep deep down he would never act like this at a football match.
It will deter others im sure from doing the same but the clubs have to provide adequate stewarding and policing to prevent this happening again especially during high risk matches such as the one this game was.
A massive lesson to young kids who attend matches and think it is big and clever to act in the manner like this fool did on friday night.
Im not sure the players celebration after the goal helped the situation either-seemed rather confrontational in my view.

At least nobody on sky said the usual media line for things such as this

“what if he’d had a knife?”

Warnock was most certainly out of order with his “ton of bricks” remark but should we be surprised by it?
This wasnt a controversial tackle between two footballers it was a clear criminal act and Leeds United rightfully issued a terse statement to the media straight afterwards.
A very ugly incident and an ivestigation should be held by the football league to ensure this doesnt happen again.

I heard Whelan on radio five this morning on the Nicky Cambell show.
He came on and talked about the prices at Latics compared to the other clubs.
The prices are in some cases disgraceful and fair play to our chairman for his policy in this area.
He does a good job promoting the club in the media -he came across very well this morning.

Stage managed and dull and certainly not ‘fly on the wall’.No engaging characters and i have only watched one episode and a very small bit of the last one. These are people with lives so far removed from the ordinary football supporter that you cannot empathise or identify with any of them.Add to the fact that Rogers is hardly the most flambouyant man in the world-Brian Clough he aint!
Indeed the bit of the last episode was probably the best i have seen-some scouse playwright reciting a poem about being a true football supporter.

Mike Phelan and Eric Black immediately spring to mind however im not surprised Jonesey keeps getting a mention for vacant jobs.
Our management team are very high profile given the Houdini style relegation escapes and we got more coverage at the end of last season than i can ever remember previously.
Not sure Burnley is the right place for him though-a cul de sac of a town in the middle of nowhere with no ambition and whose best days were well over 50 years ago !
A club that loses its manager to bloody Bournemouth (nothing club if ever there was one!) is on the slide thats for sure.
                            Stay away mate!

The 2am shut down myth is that there was loads of trouble as all the clubs emptied.
Not true-back in my day (80s) you had Pemps,Maximes,Pier,Turnkey,Chaplins,Riverside,Movies,Kings,Blutos and that was about it.Blutos was about the worst and that closed its doors in late 1985-was in on its last night and there was a fight then involving a girl and her boyfriend(the girl battred the lad btw :woohoo: ).
They were all fairly scattered about the town and each club had a taxi rank outside.
There was bits of trouble yes but it was spasmosdic and usually only involved fists with nobody getting there heads stamped on unlike today(what is with that btw -how cowardly!).It mostly happened at the 11pm taxi ranks but the police controlled this easily so you didnt see major disturbances.
The out of town trade that blights the town today didnt happen and when it did the night clubs operated a coach party policy with strict rules of entrance-couples only ,no drunkeness etc. They also wanted everybody inside by 10pm so it must have been much easier to control.
They also operated a strict dress code and troublemakers were soon booted out if they caused trouble.People hit the town centre at 7.30 onwards and most people had gone home by 11pm.
Now you have scores of bars and it must be a nightmare to control and it must be costing the NHS/Police a fortune.
I think its time to go back to stricter licensing laws and controls on off licence purchases
                              Enough is enough!

Come on council/police etc. Shut this monstrosity of a street down. Pointless, useless, crime ridden, no go area, awful job lot beer, steroid tossers on cocaine, over zealous door staff who are more than likely involved in the underworld anyway.

The policing bill for a weekend must be staggering. Not to mention the hospital/NHS bill for all the people who pass through A&E….!

If it’s not possibly to get rid of all the bars/clubs on that eye sore of a street, then at least have a curfew at night. Some are open till 6am, what a joke! the people who own these bars should be held accountable for this blokes death, that tony callaghan fella should be in the dock for selling cheap ale and encouraging binge drinking on a ridiculous scale. Also the big national chains that own bars on king street should face prosecution too.

They sell ale to people even if they can’t stand up FFS. get them in the dock and shut the place down.

Cheap alcohol sold in supermarkets and offies as well as bars open until 6am is the problem if you ask me.The teenagers stay at home throwing it down with their mates before turning out at 11.30pm and then hitting King st and staying out till 6am.
They are already p/ssed up when they hit the area and add the growing drugs problem and under age elements that frequent the bars and is it any wonder it is carnage most weekends?
Ban the sale of cheap supermarket alcohol and change the licensing laws back to the old ones and the place would be closed at 2.30am.
Restrict the licences and gradually the late bars would reduce and people would turn out earlier and obviously drink less due to the extra expense.
A relative of mine was caught up in a major fracas on King st a few years back and it was only for the grace of god that nobody was killed that night. My relative was set upon by several out of towners and it was only because he is a tough lad that he came out of it relatively unscathed.
The thing is this goes on in EVERY town centre across the country and the problem could be solved by the government.
How many more casualties will there be before the authorities sort it out?

Feel a bit sorry for them really-meet loads of their supporters through my job and they generally only have good things to say about Latics despite the local rivalry.
I was gutted to lose them and Blackburn last season and we will miss the matches against them this season wont we?
Give me the Reebok and Ewood park against Loftus (subbuteo replica) road and Carrow rd any day!
                                  No laughter from me.
