Fair point, But the way we played against Villa, Newcastle and spurs second half we were more than capable of taking something.
On the other hand though the way we played against wolves, bolton and fulham we deserved nothing.
I don’t know anyone who has forgotten that he has taken us from the old div 4 to the premiership.
Leo Skeete
It’s not so much losing as everyone needs to lose at some point. I will give him praise for this for sure. Gritty performances are what clubs at the arse end need. When you lose 8 on the bounce against relatively weak teams you are open to attack. Winning one game doesn’t eradicate any of that or the last 2 and a half years but it’s still good in any case, And the double bonus of being out of the bottom 3 is a welcome sight.
Good read that George. Well researched too. Be interesting to see how far they can progress before the World Cup in Qatar, Sounding like tonkings a plenty are on the horizon, Even by the smaller nations.
Thty, Several doesn’t mean seven, you custard. :P :P :P
“but i think that there should be a strict punishment limit on how a footballer acts on or off the pitch.”
Griff you barnpot, You read past the part where i said they are not in the same category.
I will simplify it a touch what i was getting at. Not that you need it or anything ;) but i think that there should be a strict punishment limit on how a footballer acts on or off the pitch. There should be rules set out by the F.A that when a role model such as a footballer get’s convicted of a serious crime(seriousness would have to be up to the F.A) They should be banned from playing semi or professional football for good. The same goes for spitting and in cases like Roy Keane admitting he tried to break Alf Inge Haaland’d leg’s. With footballers getting so much money and being as cocky and arrogant as they are things like this will get more and more common. Paul Merson. Pundit with a history of drink problems get’s done for drink driving again, Why is he not sacked? Barry Bannan, Caught drink driving doing over 100mph on the motorway, Sack him. The list goes on.
He is a disgrace in a long line of players who should not be allowed to play again in this country is Lee Hughes, However i am afraid that we have a centre back who has just served a 3 match suspension for spitting at another opponent and will walk back into the side and people will forget all about it although i would personally put him in the same category. Should be sacked for what he did. No room for that on a football pitch or anywhere. Different crimes i know but should carry the same penalty once the line is crossed on certain acts.
Or Wigan Athletic & Man Utd
or Wigan Athletic & Liverpool
You lot still parp on about the rugby when we can’t get our own shop in order and they are doing considerably better than us. The arguments and similarities just do not match up im afraid. But in biased world they make you happy.
Aye it is. I used to work down in a place called Pewsey in Swindon. Pity im not still there.
Although i would probably go watching Bath City
eeeerm, Not so difficult for me this one, Despite the time of the post, I am very un-drunk, Well a little, But last week we showed gut’s and determination. Not worried about the Arsenal’s of this world. (although disappointed in the way which we let them boss the game) But there is a lot more to December than meets the eye. West Brom is nearly upon us and a chance after today. Blackburn may just do the Wigan scrap but who knows. although can’t see it.
P.S – Darksiders, Don’t think i have converted, I am still against the regime, Just that i still don’t agree with what he is trying to do because he won’t change anything or different with the players we have.
Like i say though, Can’t help being tonked by a side like Arsenal, Just one of those teams innit
We have shifted sides to the ” Fair Weather Fan Club ” !!
Fair Weather Fan Club? YOu mean those who support the manager and team bo matter what the result? Never was a phrase used so out of context.
For the record Yosser, I applaud your optimism. The Arsenal team and supporters hate coming to Wigan so, you never know.[/quote]
It’s not just that Standish. Having watched the game back, We did something that we hadn’t, Couldn’t do so far this season. Defended well, Attacked as an army and covered basic positions. I would disagree with what Bruce says when he says ‘We battered Wigan’ I think they had a few reasonable chances and a lot more huff and puff. But we actually went for it towards the end. In fact the whole second half. Nice to see a wave of blue heading towards the opposition goal and flanking back when possession was lost. Arsenal are though of course, A different kettle of fish.
We need a right back in January. I saw Corluka want’s to go out on loan from Spurs. Yes please.
I don’t know anything about his job status, or do i want to. I was talking about me. And if was to offend someone i would direct it at the person i was trying to offend so if someone does object that is up to them.
Good effort that if true. I just checked the betting as 3.00pm came and they offered
Wigan 9/2
Burnley 3/1
Yeovil 3/1
Brentford 8/5Would have gave you a cool £683.40 but £400+ aint that bad is it B) B)
