And there you just sum up what we seem have accepted as Latics fans. i quote “enjoy what might well be our last season in the top flight”

How can you prepare for something like that after so many years of non progress. Stoke, Wolves, West Brom e.t.c have all had a go and are in a considerably better position than us. Even Blackpool had a stab at good attacking football. Don’t parp on about fan bases and all that because it means nothing. Yes we are unfashionable and yes nothing much is expected of us but i don’t expect my team to win 3 games maybe at home all season. How the hell can you lot back Whelan after the last 5 seasons. Do you actually enjoy watching a struggling side sell it’s best players and replace them with 1m players. We are in the Premier League and i don’t care what Sir Lord Viscount Whelan has done in the past because he had a business plan to get himself sh*t loads of money getting a team to the premiership because he could afford to. Won’t go into all the financial details but he has made a whole lot more than he let’s on does Saint Whelan. Can’t see why you are all so blind. Leech. he should have done the right thing 5 years ago. Calls the fans names for not going because of his actions. You want to know why the crowds are going down Dave. Re-invest some of that 400 and odd million you have received and you will see a change in the peoples attitude. You are the reason everyone laughs at us, You are too keen to talk about other clubs and make out that ours is the apple of the country. Not everyone is blind though, Some of us can see your intentions.

How many of you actually think he cares what happens when he goes. I guarantee he will screw this club. He has done it everywhere he has been.

Orrell RU, Pooles Pies, JJB Sports, Wigan Warriors (central park)

Price fixing with JJB then committing fraud to the stock exchange 2 years later with JJB

Funny how the sale of Wigan Warriors and salary cap breaches, Fraud allegations, price fixing, the fold of Orrell RU and all pooles pies shops closing all happened within a couple of years of each other.

I just wish some of you would open your eyes a little

Agreed, The Latics’ websites to be in a decline. Maybe something along the lines of a hyperboard linking them, all together will re-ignite a little more interest.

Ideas are good in principal but its the powers that be, Finances e.t.c that would have to decide.

Would need them all to get together to discuss the pro’s and con’s of it. For me i think it would be a good idea.

How can you not be negative about this team, They are spineless and are not being trained or taught the game properly.

You know what is going to happen on Saturday. They will pass it about at the back, Knock it into touch more than the rugby do. Lose the ball in midfield, and shoot wide on every occasion. Bad marking, and an arm folded manager on the side lines saying how proud he is of the players and they showed great courage in holding on for a 0-0 draw.

The sooner we are down the better. Whelan will walk and Martinez will follow.

Headline: Yosser and Griff in agreement shocker?

Not that unusual, Just that on most threads i let my imagination get away with me. Griff is better at wording the tricky subjects :? :?

in reply to: Michael O’Neil #72015
He was a rubbish player, slow, clueless and a waste of wages griff, okay?
You are one wind up ma boy .

Must be kidding, The only point i don’t agree with Griff with on this one is that he is the poor man’s Gomez, Just don’t think you can judge two generations of footballer in 3 separate divisions. Understand what he is saying though. We were in the second division and had a very creative player in the centre of the field who created goals. His problem is what Griff is probably getting at is that he was a slow playing midfielder. My gripe with him was that when we had a flowing move going he would hold the ball up in the centre rather than carry on the flow with a quick ball to the wing and by the time he decided to go to the wing the opposition defenders had chance to re-group and break the move down. But saying that, he was a good set piece taker and when he played balls down the centre they were decisive and accurate and usually contributed to goals.

Griff just smack my arse for being presuming.

We had a spate of very effective Premiership has been right backs, Nicky Eaden, Carl Bradshaw, Jeff Kenna and Scott Green all pop into the head, A lot of our goals throughout the Jewell era came from the right hand side, Linking up with the Liddell’s and Teale’s.

Nah, Decent play-maker when he first joined, For the level we were at. He dropped like a stone though for some reason.

Yeah but the WEP will probably say it either happened while he was here or at least make a note of putting it on tomorrows back page as he used to play for us. There will be something in there im sure. Even if it is a little caption on the inside pages, It will mention his name and ours in the same sentence.

I have to admit it’s getting more and more frustrating. We seem to act like a newly promoted club. Every season we take the money and see how it goes, running the risk of relegation with no plans or proper investment to improve.
Bob says he wants to do well in the cups, then makes 9 changes against Palace. That said, a PL second eleven should be able to beat Palace, but then again most of our first eleven are not PL standard anyway.
It will catch up with us sooner or later and who knows where we will end up, we might even start enjoying football again when it happens.

Horc i do believe you have just summed up the frustration within our club and between our fans in a nut shell. That was the post that people have been trying to say.

Well worded old chap

Probably to the annoyance of Arky

It was you then was it?, you little two hat. When I see you I’ll tan yer @rse like I should have done back then. ;)

You may have to lift me a little higher these days, Probably better hanging me of the spiked fence upside down. Is that capsized boat still in the estuary. :D

Can’t stand the old fishing malarkey myself but don’t mind watching someone else do it whilst i get trolley’d in the sunshine.

Remember throwing ballast off the railway tracks into the middle of the limey when the gate keeper threw us off the public path. Probably to the annoyance of Arky and his chums, Was only a nipper though, Saying that how long do you fish on there before you start to get bored of yanking jonnies out. Been cleaned out now though and re-opened i think.

Think this one will be a draw for me. 1-1 i reckon, Two teams not altogether struggling but finding it hard to get into a rhythm and ultimately score goals. I think we are evenly matched there or there abouts these days although you have certain individual players that could turn the screw when required. I think that McLeish was right in what he said last week about you being in transition and it seems he cannot quite find out how to play N’Zogbia yet. Where as we have been in an apparent transition for the last 2 and a half years with little or no progress to show for it. Whilst you have key players like Agbonlahor, Bent and Albrighton we are always going to be a little bit vulnerable with our slow makeshift defence. However if there is a way past Dunne then i reckon we have a good chance of getting through yours too. N’Zogbia will be marked out of the game by Van Aanholt if he is played down the right wing. Chelsea have a very useful player there with huge potential and is showing it here so far. For 2 miss-firing teams with no real signs of a run being put together i will go for a 1-1 draw with the advantage of a potential win going to Villa for the home advantage.

Don’t care what he can do with a ball, That man is the anti-christ around here after the Arry episode. That should make us more hated than we already are now.

in reply to: Jordi Gomez #71791

I find it fascinating that everybody who does not like Gomez seem to just sit around people who post on here.
