I’d have Beausejour in instead of McLean but apart from that I’d pick the same team. :)
From the Latics banter Facebook page.
“The full set of officials from our match against Bournemouth have been dropped for this weekends fixtures, hopefully the same will now apply for those who took charge of yesterday’s match. They didn’t have a clue what they were doing at times.”
Got to disagree about McCarthy I thought the lad worked his socks off but right he didn’t create much he needs mcarthur in their with him.Eh???
Must be 2 players with a 4 on their back.
The one I was watching only broke into a trot about twice all night. ;)
Full match report in the Express.
He’s a typical old fashioned centre forward – but he needs service.
The midfield was awful tonight.
Watson is hopeless. Hence off at half time. McCann was totally invisible and contributed nout.
McCarthy strolled around like he was awaiting the phone call from Everton.Totally disinterested.
McLean – a work in progress.
We only really came to life when Beajesour (Sorry for the spelling) came on and linked up with Maloney on the left hand side.
Never thought I’d hear a cheer for the introduction of Gomez.
Tonight was a real wake up call and I expect changes on Sunday.
A good point in the end though. Credit to them for the fightback
I`m sorry but I wonder if some of you support Wigan Athletic we should all have the same opinion as its OUR player, yes both feet r off the ground and laws of gravity say once off the ground you carnt turn round in mid air etc etc etc but common sense to me says NO WAY WAS THAT MALICIOUS he clearly got the ball because of the Newcastle tackle he`s now a marked man Wigan will appeal they will fail (cause of Newcastle tackle) as I said earlier the games gone soft .I carn`t believe some of you being Wigan fans see it differentCommon sense is that you don’t jump in like that and give the ref an excuse in the first place.
Here you go.
The 3rd view is the best. Yes he gets the ball but his foot is off the floor and his other leg takes out the player.
Perhaps if last season hadn’t happened he may have got away with a yellow.
Unfortunately on Planet FA/Referee if they deem it dangerous then it is a red. :(
Having seen it a few times now I do think in hindsight it was harsh, but he was daft for diving in like that.
Hopefully that’s a harsh lesson learned and he won’t do it again.
It’s Frothy Man !!!!!!! :)
I agree it is too soft these days.
But…………. Players know the rules these days and bearing in mind what he got away with last season it was a bit stupid to dive in and make that kind of challenge.Particularly with the ref we had today.
He’d only been on the pitch 5 minutes so he shouldn’t have had time to get so wound up really.
The ref was poor but so was McMananmans challenge and he can really have no complaints.
His reaction was poor as well. I just hope his language wasn’t as bad as it looked because to lose him for 3 will be bad enough.
That was a really poor display.
They were a poor side and we gifted them 3 points with an appalling back pass.
We created very little and I’m struggling to grasp the tactics.Pass it about a bit then hoof it up the pitch seemed to be the order of the day???
Holt !! The Jury’s out.
Watson awful again.
Sending off – no complaints.
3 home games on the trot. I’m sure we’ll get better.
Can’t wait for Tuesday. It’s been a long summer so far.
COME ON YOU LATICS !!!!!!!!
Awful back pass from Perch. 1-0 to the Cherries.
We haven’t played very well at all really so far.
Better things in the second half please boys.
Also on in my dining room on Wiziwigs/Sweden.
I didn’t expect us to win today.I just get annoyed when we don’t play well especially against the team I loathe more than any other.
Knee jerk reaction with me.
Looking back now I realise you can’t judge anything on today’s performance.
Next Saturday we should perform well against a team who conceded 6 yesterday.I really can’t wait for the 20th and 25th now.I’m going to miss Forest though cos I’m off on holiday.
Onwards and upwards.
