Heard Jenas is a possibility
SSN ‘suggest’ that Aston Villa have registered their interest in the man.
To me that signals that Rodallega is definitely on his way out. I may be reading too much into it, but he can go at the end of the season for nothing, and Di Santo seems the current choice in the centre. After all the praise heaped on Moses recently, I can’t see him being dropped.Mr Walker….
do you feel that the general consensus is that Rodallega will be the subject of an 11th hour move out? I must admit that I’d be miffed if that were the case…………
………also rumour control (on here I have to admit) suggested that Connor Sammon was a little ‘unsettled’ as he is not getting the playing time he thought he might, however, I’d prefer Rodallega with Connor acting as an ‘impact sub’.
You make a good point about him being able to leave for nowt at the end of season – so some nifty work needs to be done on this.
I wouldn’t recommend shouting with your tongue in your cheek Micky. Not attractive at all. ;)Cheers Sammy……………..I now have that mental picture firmly etched behind my eyes. ;)
However, there is bloke (in the West stand) who I sometimes wish would shout with his tongue in his cheek – my dad can hear him (and he doesn’t go any more  )

So much to say…..so little time to say it in. Mate – what is/are your strong point(s)?
Don’t get me wrong – I like the cut of your jib (how very nautical…..) ;) .
i would say rallying the troops is one of my better skills – i just say anything anti martinez on here and the unity in defence is amazing
i honestly believe i contributed to us surviving last season, the aura of positivity from the board going into those last few games was unstopable – the messages of vitriol and how i would eat my words bonded us and filled us with belief like never before. ;) ;)
Amen

Firstly a big shout out to the fan in west stand central who shouted to Neil warnock “joey bartons just handed in a transfer request” at goon 2-0 down. Warnock enjoyed that one.My main point of posting though, is sometimes I forget just how dickheadish some latics fans can be. During the first 5 mins of the Norwich game; around me I had a bloke and a woman screaming at roberto to “drag” Gomez off. Now if at this stage in the season our manager is dealing with crap like that. What chance have we got. I tried to hit him with a laser precision peanut m&m; but was unsuccessful. Seriously though come on, give the team some support at least.
So I thought Gomez had a decent game against QPR I wouldn’t hear this verbal abuse directed at Wigan players by Wigan fans. I was wrong. Second half 2-0 down ( actually just before Gomez did that majestic flick) this same fan went off on one requesting the removal of Jordi Gomez. We were playing well, 2-0 up, about to set a record for best ever start to a premierleague campaign and thus pillock is still not happy. There’s also a woman sat about 10 rows back in WS6 from dug out who screeeaaaaaches at the top of her voice “Martinez do you know what you’re doing” at least twice a game.
If anyone fancies bringing a banjo to the next game to smack these two fans with, I’d very very appreciative.
Kind regards
A latics :angry-soapbox: fan
Sorry…..one of these :text-goodpost: too..

Like that ‘m&m event’…….it’s difficult hitting a cows arris with a banjo these days too……. ;)
I asked a steward what was going on and he replied ” A football match ” !! Ask a silly question !! :?
some of the crap served up in the last 2 seasons it sounds a reasonable response to many.
As an ‘educated’ person you may find the following an interesting read….. micky my dear friend i was the model it was based on, i’ll autograph your copy if you like.
…..but you already have my friend…………………you already have.
;)
Don’t think we are too bad in that area. I realise Alcaraz is out for a couple of months but the ones who have stood in up to now have let one goal in, in 3 games.
I know you could say we’ve only played “championship” teams but nevertheless they’ve done alreet. The trump card for me is Boycie, he can slot in at CH no probs at any time and do a job. Stam and the nearly fit Gohouri will not let us down at RB.
I think Bobby will be more concerned about the LB position more than any. If Figs gets injured or suspended there is a bit of shuffling to do. Piscu would be OK but as we saw in the Norwich game he is not that comfortable when defending the LB position.
Gary Caldwell may indeed get some bad press…………….but, he is the only one that gets in the face of the officials (I know captain and all that), fouls, hits and ‘welcomes’ the strikers to the DW. His critics say he is slow, clumsy and not up to it….however, when the attacking players get hit – they stay hit (who the fu£k do people want in defence ….Thomas O’Malley).
To take up your point of ‘left back’…..we do not seem to have one. I am sick to the back teeth of watching “Figs” get sucked into a central position leaving acres of space in that area (better teams will exploit) and this was apparent even last season; the lad needs either a move or better ‘coaching’ ( ;) ).
As for playing ‘championship’ teams – I agree….they come up with confidence, aggression, vigour, continuity and great team ethic. It was a baptism of fire for them – they didn’t get the points they thought they would (every team in this league has a right to be here) and will now start to look over their shoulders – we have weathered the ‘storm’.
Finally, what I think, less out and less in is good for me. We keep the ‘dressing room’, we build (mentally) on what we have, retain cohesion and understanding, and reward…………….loyalty.
We should fear no one this season……..
Mr Scoffy
I think you totally misunderstood the feeling of the game, the time of the game, the euphoria of the fans inside……
The calls for “shoot” were not really heard until we were 90mins + 3…..and (I was one of them shouting – tongue in cheek) we could have had a third – just look at the Utd game today (both teams scored in time added on). If, however, those around you were shouting it throughout the game then either tell them to shut the f@£k up or move seats….after all it’s only a game of football. ;)
Anyway – “shoot” is an old naval command, one that an ‘old soldier’ shouldn’t really be bothered about.

Maybe the editing was as bad as MOTDs but I didn’t anywhere near five times that Gomez gave the ball away.Yes it (the editing) was….you really had to be at the game (and I know you were). He gave the ball away too many times (more than you “saw”)
and I counted three very good tackles that he made. There may have been more.Strewth!……….Opta stats must be quivering. “Three?”….you are ‘avin a larff…… The boy is definately ‘tackle shy’ – indeed when he was forced into a stop he used his hip (classic move for the smaller man) to stop the opponent – he did this once and stopped after a warning from the ref…There were no more.
But WTF does an ex-pro know?errrmmmm
Paul Merson
Matt le Tissier
Andy Gray
ohhhhh….and my all time favorite –Rodney (f&ckinknownowtuphisarsec0ckneysouthernmuppetshandeydrinkincont) Marsh
Hey!…what do they know (them pro’s)?
That’s right….absolutely C ock all…….
It’s all about the money. (there’s a song there somewhere). ;)
please, please, please watch football first tonight (match of the day will only show 5 mins at most)gomez got caught in possession on 5 occasions one that led to a chance qpr should have scored from, he plays the ball backwards more than ray wilkins ever did and he is slower than a sloth – i have to admit he was better today than i have ever seen him play but he’s a championshp player at best, thankfully he wont play when the squad is at full strength.
I wish I could get my arris off this fence. Today was indeed a good display for the young man….creative and has vision. However, I have to agree with some of your observations – he was slow at times and will always back away from a tackle…….bl00dy frustrating that. I want him, so much, to do well but feel that he still needs to ‘grow’ into this league – a loan spell may do him the power of good. When he’s good he’s good when he’s bad he’s embarrassing.
Right………..back onto my fence it is then.
Now stop right there sir……
how many times have you heard the phrase>>>
“Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story”…….
“They” even had (as one of their banners) a “No Runners” statement.
Something that I made up myself – a completely ficticious group. (ooooops)
Balanced opinion there Sir…
