We’re not going to hear anything until the club is ready to present the new owners in a press conference or report on the website.

1st March was the deadline (I’m not even sure it was a firm deadline), to get the business done. This has been a 6 month process.

If Southampton sell out will be another 18k-20k as Sunday much easier to arrange trip.

With the exception of the first half against Giillingham, we haven’t put in a convincing league performance since before Christmas. That’s been the issue. The squad has been strengthened but there’s been a consistent decline in the level of performances.

While you can excuse the Rochdale display after the number of changes, the West Ham and City games show the level we can produce. That is needed for the majority of the remaining league games. With 15 league games to go this won’t be decided by fixture congestion or luck. That’s why we went out of our way to back the manager in January. This is the time of year champion teams push on. It’s what Caldwell’s team did, it’s yet to be seen if Cook can do the same.

And yet we were top throughout, have lost 2 in 19 maybe more and apart from games in hand would probably still be top.

            I agree SH77…..we are in trouble here.[/quote]

Sounds a little complacent to me.

With 15 games to go we’ve suddenly realised we’re in a battle for automatic promotion. We can’t take any of these games in hand as a given as our league form has dropped way off. Maybe the City game and fatigue was the reason. We should know well before the final 10 game run-in whether we’re back on top form or destined for the play-off lottery.

Walker and Vaughan are the ones pushing for a start.

At the very least they’ll now be the go to replacements if they start from the bench. MacDonald can’t be far off if we’re talking about players ready to come straight into the first team reckoning.

We are at the stage of the season where each game is a must win if we are to be the ones setting the pace.

There’s no doubt the momentum has shifted and we are on the back foot somewhat. It’s looking like over 95pts will be needed for an automatic spot. That doesn’t leave much wiggle room and means we can’t approach games thinking a draw is a good result.

We certainly have the quality and strength in depth. It’s a question of whether Cook can get the full potential out of the players at his disposal.

On paper we had our strongest team out against Blackpool.

For various reasons, be it tiredness or focus on the city game, it was a missed opportunity to shake things up. I wouldn’t be making any unneeded changes at the back, but midfield onwards, anything goes.

Colclough, Fulton, Walker and Vaughan must all be close to starting.

I’d imagine his visit, if correct, would have been more along the lines of meeting his new employer. Establishing who he reports to and the new structure.

In a club of our size the chairman/manager working relationship is very close. It makes sense to get all this stuff out of the way before a busy run of games.

Seen a few mentions Sharpe was accompanied by Cook on his trip to Spain this week in regards to takeover business.

I would say it was the biggest win in my lifetime certainly but it won’t pay the bills.

We need to be playing Championship football next season especially with some of the clubs in and around the bottom 3 in that league. Not going up this season could mean we stay in this league for a couple of years and we can’t afford to do that.

We’ll never know, but winning the FA Cup could have been the very thing that made the difference when attracting new owners. When there’s 8k on at the DW in League One it may not feel that way, but to have any chance of attracting the kind of investment needed to push on, we needed a story and history that differentiated us from so many identikit clubs. Without said investment, there’s little chance we could progress much beyond being one of those clubs who yoyo between the Championship and League One.

That may still be our destiny with the new owners, in which case nights like Monday should be treasured even more. Few clubs have experienced anything like our story.

You have to say at least the West Ham fans have a sense of humour and give credit when it’s due. City fans attitudes have come full circle from when they where struggling.

Fans on the pitch at the end should be banned for life dad’s with kids on their shoulders a bloody disgrace Max Power bloody brilliant though.

One of the greatest of all FA Cup traditions.

Well, until some suit in an office decided it was unacceptable.

Nothing will ever top the FA Cup win, but man for man, the hardest fought win.

Nothing had to be completed by the 14th. But it is true to say tonight, or at the latest, Saturday, will be the last home game before ownership change goes through.
