Edinburgh, I’ve read a couple of quotes saying he has a bit of pace? Is this right?

At 6ft 2 you would think he is a bit of a target man – does he play like that or does he play off someone at Killie?

Just wondering where he is going to fit into our system. Coming on for Hugo or could Bobby bring him in as an impact player alongside Hugo?

    Latics to win 2-1

I haven’t see him play yet, but was it worth keeping Piscu in hiding for so long?

Would you play him tomorrow night?

Could be worth a go. He does have good pace and I thought that shot he had which was blocked was hit with real venom and was going in the far corner.

One thing he is not however is a decent defender!

We should have Matt Jackson as our defence coach. A clever and articulate guy who obviously still loves the club judging by his commentary on 5Live Extra last night.

Yes, I think the cup game couldn’t have come at a better time. It gives us another competitive game to try and bring our injured players back up to speed.

Alcaraz will be able to have another game’s rest and we can give another game to Piscu. I see he’s also in the squad for this afternoon’s reserve game.

I feel really deflated about the season, but despite our really poor scoring record we still have a chance of staying up. We’re not adrift and if we can beat West Brom on Tuesday who knows what kind of lift that may give the players – we could then see our first back to back wins in goodness knows how long.

My head says we are likely to go down but my heart says we still have a chance and if we have 28 points from 26 games going into that run of games against the big boys who knows what can happen we just might pull off the odd unlikely win……..

Is Hugo the answer to the teaser?

If we’re not going to sign Ali permanently how about we let Tom go back to United and we get Vela here on loan instead.

He wants to go to La Liga because they speak Spanish. If he comes here he can speak Spanish all day long!

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. I don’t necessarily think its the players or the formation, it’s the negative way we use the system. We don’t throw enough bodies forward which is why we are the lowest scorers.

I thought we were better going forward last year, but then perhaps after the drubbings we took at Spurs, Chelsea, United and after the first two games of this season, it seems we have adopted a safety first approach – which is born out by our lack of goals and the number of games we have drawn. If we had won just three of those drawn games we would be just below mid table.

What I don’t think our manager has understood is that while it might be okay to keep things more solid we aren’t going to win games if Charlie and Rodders are the only two players breaking against four or five defenders.

We need to attack to keep the opposition on the back foot and give our back line a breather – not invite pressure like we did on Saturday.

What’s Bobby’s saying again Griff? Be brave, play without fear? It’s something like that – well now is the time where we need to play like that :x

I don’t think we’ll be seeing him in a Wigan shirt after this season – he’s been our best player.

I suspect the reason why we haven’t signed him up is because he wants to keep his options open – starting with seeing whether we can stay up or not.

    in reply to: Cleverley #56563

So when Nnnnnn’Zogbia leaves at some point in the next seven days, at least we will have two decent wide players in our ranks in Cleverley and Moses.

I doubt we’d be paying his wages during his injury anyway – isn’t that why clubs pay vast amounts to insure these players?

    in reply to: MOTD #56492

At least they didn’t humiliate us any further by analysing how bad we were! Nice quick summing up! In fact the number of saves Ali made, they could have used the same totting up method they used when we got done 9-1 at Spurs last season!
