    Yes, he’s a referee.

Moyes took over a team with a defence that as a combined age of 200, old purple nose could see the writing on the wall & jumped ship rather sharpish !

    Rather sharpish?

Ten years ago, he knew exactly how old these players would be today.

Let’ us see if he can sustain his lucky start from the team he inherited from moyes over a prolonged period, I await the FAT LAD & his witty retort :)

We’ve been short of ridiculous comments recently.

Keep ’em coming! On to 800!

There could be extra time on Saturday. You can’t expect players to be at their best after playing a game on Tuesday too.

We’ve got a big squad, let’s use it. Most of the Saturday team should have a rest on Tuesday.

Arsenal are desperate for a trophy. Winning two games against modest opponents will give them the FA Cup. I think that Wenger will put his strongest team out on Saturday.

However, as Arsenal have so few players available at the moment, he has very few options open to him for either game. His team on Saturday is likely to be little changed from today.

I’m sure Rosler will have studied how Everton tore them apart. Wigan have already beaten three Premier League teams – Crystal Palace, Cardiff and Manchester City. Wigan have a great chance of reaching the Cup Final once again!

Martinez’s Everton have made a good start, good luck to him, so all the pundits are creaming themselves with superlatives about how much better they are playing, which to be frank is bullshit, these same pundits will rip him as soon there are a few poor results.

The Guardian; What’s so special about Roberto Martinez?
Andy Hunter on why the Spaniard is now one of Britain’s best managers.

The Independent; Rodgers and Martinez are returning merriment to Merseyside.
Twin motivators with positive outlooks are restoring their clubs’ reputations and bringing new belief to their players.

The Times; Martinez has the chance to turn vision into reality for Everton.

No – there wasn’t any sending off offence. So Arsenal lost a man for an hour without any justification.

Arsenal argued that Gibbs should not be suspended because he was not the player who handled the ball.

Arsenal also argued that as the ball was going wide, Chamberlain had not prevented a goal scoring opportunity.

So the referee, Andre Marriner, was found wrong on both counts. He has been appointed to referee the Hull-Sheffield United semifinal at Wembley.

Waghorn has already played for Leicester in the FA Cup. As he is cup-tied, I’ve included him in my team to play Millwall.

Jimmyc, what do you think our strongest teams would be?

    Arsenal are going through a bad patch just now;
    Everton 3-0 Arsenal
    Arsenal 1-1 Man City
    Arsenal 2-2 Swansea
    Chelsea 6-0 Arsenal
    Tottenham 0-1 Arsenal
Bayern Munich 1-1 Arsenal Champions League
    Arsenal 4-1 Everton FA Cup
    Stoke 1-0 Arsenal

After today’s performance at Everton, they are clearly beatable. They are short of confidence and short of players too.

But we will need to field a strong, fresh team that plays well to beat them. Wigan play on Tuesday night, and there could be extra time on Saturday.

    Everton 3 Arsenal 0

Bottom Four Bob has closed the gap between Everton and Arsenal with this convincing victory.

Everton are now just one point behind Arsenal but with a game in hand and a superior goal difference.

How long before Top Four Bob?

    Everton 3 Arsenal 0

    Szczesny
    Sagna Mertesacker Vermaelen Monreal
    Cazorla Arteta Flamini Rosicky
    Giroud Podolski

    Substitutes
    Viviano, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey,
    Sanogo, Jenkinson, Källström, Bellerín

It was a difficult afternoon for Arsenal and an unconvincing display. Wenger will have to pick them up if they are to compete in the semifinal and the remaining league games.

Ramsey came on as a substitute, and may well play on Saturday. Flamini will be suspended. Beyond these substitutes, Wenger has few other players available.

Before Wembley was used, fans found it hardest to get tickets for the semifinals.

Using Wembley meets the FA’s greed for money, but it is justified if it avoids another Hillsborough. However, Old Trafford does offer a large stadium in the north.

The fans have to meet the cost of travel to the games; the least the FA can do is fix kick off times to suit the fans attending the games.

It’s a pity that they can’t sing something familiar that everybody is happy to join in.

    We know who we are
    We know who we are
    FA Cup winners
    We know who we are

Despite his usual rotation, Rosler made only two changes today.

I’d pick the team for Saturday first, and then the team for Tuesday, resting the players most important for Saturday if possible. But it’s difficult to rest both Boyce and Perch on Tuesday.

    Tuesday v Millwall
    Al Habsi
    Ramis Barnett Kiernan
    Perch McEachran Collison Waghorn Crainey
    Maynard McClean

    Saturday v Arsenal
    Al Habsi
    Boyce Ramis Barnett
    Perch McArthur Gomez Powell Beausejour
    McManaman Fortune

Wigan are gaining on both QPR and Derby.

It would be good to keep up the pressure and finish in third or fourth place.
