News of Bottom Four Bob – or could it be Top Four Bob?
Under Roberto, Everton have taken 60 points from 31 games. With seven games to play, they are within reach of the highest total of points, 65, achieved under Moyes.
They go into their home game against Arsenal on a run of five wins in their last five league games, the first time in 11 years that they have won five in a row.
A win against Arsenal would put them one point behind Arsenal with a game in hand. If they can finish above Arsenal, they will finish in the top four – and win a place in the Champions League competition.
They have some tough games ahead, including a home game against Man City which could determine whether the title goes to Man City or Liverpool.
I think Everton will be happy with the progress made under Martinez. Moyes has a lot of hard work ahead of him at United, assuming that he carries on there next season.
Who said;
Well I am positive that Everton will not be in the top 8 this season ! If they lose Baines and Fellaini they wont even finish in the top half !
And who said;
I really do think that both sets of supporters are totally deluded, if they feel their teams are good enough for CL football.
My prediction; Liverpool 8th, Everton 14th.
Bogdan had to dive the right way to save it.
Did he just guess, or did he see something in Gomez’ run up?
I don’t believe that penalty takers often actually send keepers the wrong way.
To his credit, Martinez has kept Everton – very much against expectations – in the competition for fourth place.
It’s certainly going to be an interesting run-in.
If Liverpool win all their matches, they will be Champions. And the same goes for Man City. It should be a great match between them.
In the battle for fourth place, Everton play Arsenal at home on Sunday. That should be a great game too. Everton could beat them next weekend, then Wigan could too the following weekend.

This time last season ( After 26 games )they were 6th and just 6 pts off a Champions League spot, whereas this season after 26 games they are 7th and 9 pts off the so called promised land! If that is progress then so be it !
Still no kind words for Roberto!
And now – after 30 games – Everton are in fifth place and seven points behind Arsenal but with two games in hand.
Today Everton play at Fulham and next Sunday are home to Arsenal. Perhaps Roberto will be able to give Kenwright a top four place after all.
Yes, but I’d rather not see them play like that.
They’ll have to play much better to worry Arsenal or make progress in the play offs.
Still, McManaman and Powell showed their class in the second half.
A very disappointing performance from what appeared a reasonable selection. For most of the game, Latics looked second best to Bolton.
The defence was poor, both individually and collectively. Jutkiewicz terrified them. They all made rash decisions and could have been punished more heavily.
Midfield held the ball well but couldn’t provide any service for Fortune or McClean.
The hero was Al Habsi, who made save after vital save. McManaman is returning to his best and brought a threat in the second half.
Powell added to it for the last twenty minutes, and Wigan finally looked capable of scoring. The late goal and the penalty award came as no surprise, but the miss did.
All obsessives – Bobsessives – are welcome on the Bottom Four Bob thread.
It’s running out of steam, despite Arsene desperately looking over his shoulder as Arsenal falter and Roberto takes Everton to within sight of a place in the top four.
Will he, won’t he, do it?
It’s very nice when you ring up Wembley and they ask, Would you like your usual seat, sir?
It would be fairer if they included a free train ticket with every match ticket.
Interesting term of phrase on the second line of the first paragraph.A typo – typographical error – is a mistake made by the fingers.
To write ‘term of phrase’ instead of ‘turn of phrase’ is a mistake or misunderstanding of idiom. That is a mental error rather than a typo.
We could be here for a long time if we’re going to analyse all the errors in posts. It’s usually enough for a poster to make himself/herself understood.

You are My Sunshine – they sing the wrong words to this too. The right ones aren’t difficult;
You are my sunshine
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You’ll never know, dear,
How much I love you.

Arsenal are faltering in the top four. They are out of the race for the Premier League title and are now fighting for a Champions League place and an appearance at Wembley.
Bottom Four Bob has taken Everton to just six points behind Arsenal. Everton have a game in hand – and Arsenal still have to go to Goodison. Bottom Four Bob may be able to do us a good turn.
This weekend
Arsenal v Man City
Fulham v EvertonNext weekend
Everton v ArsenalThe following weekend, it’s the semifinal. Perhaps Arsenal will have had the stuffing knocked out of them by then.
Arsenal’s problems continue.
Laurent Koscielny has joined the injury list and is considered a serious doubt for the semifinal. Thomas Vermaelen took his place against Swansea. As Arsenal only have three centre backs, full back Hector Bellerin was added to the first team squad.
Form is faltering too;
Chelsea 6 Arsenal 0
Arsenal 2 Swansea 2 with a last minute own-goal giving Swansea a draw last night.Arsenal are now falling back in the League race. Everton are six points behind them with a game – against Crystal Palace – in hand. And Arsenal have two big League games coming up;
Arsenal v Manchester City
Everton v ArsenalThen it’s Arsenal v Wigan.
