    How accurate are transfer rumours?

    They fill newspapers columns to the inch every day.

    A good all round performance, I thought.

    They lined up something like this;
    Al Habsi
    Perch Boyce Barnett Beausejour
    Watson
    McManaman McArthur Espinoza McClean
    Maynard

    I liked McManaman and McClean on opposite wings and thought that Wigan settled down first and deserved their lead at half time.

    Palace came out with more determination in the second half but Wigan persevered to gain their win.

    Ultimately, Wigan owed their win to Al Habsi who made at least four crucial saves. So I make him my man of the match.

    Once again, there were some strange decisions from the referee. I couldn’t see the incident with Parr clearly. I thought he landed badly and hope he will be all right.

    I caught a really bad fever once after fishing for Sawfish in the Upper Amazon forest.

    Billy Lane.

    There are two thousand fish that you can catch in the Amazon.

    And seven that can catch you.

    I thought we were playing 3-5-2. It would have to be;

    n o b

    f r e a k

    I hope it’s not a case of out of the frying pan…

    Yet more interest in our players from Premier League clubs.

    Now he was a smooth operator.

    I do get out – I was there as a neutral supporter! It was the Monday before Wigan went there on Saturday in the Fourth Round of the Cup.

    It was the Coyle’s first full season in charge of Wanderers. He did quite well in the league – I expected much better when he came here.

    McEachran has found it hard to get first team experience at Chelsea – as Powell has at United.

    He was on the bench and came on to play at Bolton just three years ago;
    Monday, 24 January 2011 Barclays Premier League Bolton 0-4 Chelsea.

    He should complement Powell, playing behind him.

    22 January; Rosler has revealed that Ramis and Rogne are not too far away from a return.

    “Gary Caldwell is not training with the team at the moment because of injury, but Ivan Ramis is making big improvements,” added the Latics manager.

    “Thomas Rogne is back on the grass now individually so he’s getting close to returning to the main group.”

    Can’t say i know a massive amount about him or how good he is but was central midfield really that much of a priority to strengthen when Latics already have Watson, McCann, McArthur, Gomez, Powell & Espinoza??

    Yes, we have quantity.

    But with Maloney not yet ready to return, perhaps Rosler wanted some more quality for the second half of the season.

    Now that is good news!

    in reply to: Standing or not standing #126203

    I don’t think that a standing area should be instated next to the away fans stand.

    Fans used to congregate behind the goals. Too many now want to antagonize the opposing fans rather than support their own team.

    If there is a standing area for home fans, will there also be one for away fans?

    in reply to: Tired legs or team selection and tactics? #126198

    Yes, that is part of the picture.

    But perhaps Leicester players are tired too. Leicester have obviously had a settled team. And I think that it is easier to play in a winning team!

    They have presumably suffered fewer injuries and fewer radical team changes. Perhaps their players are better than ours, fitter than ours and better managed than ours.
