Wednesday; Brazil v Chile.
I guess that Beausejour won’t be in the Wigan squad for Saturday.
He’ll probably take Powell from us in January just to sit on the bench like Mr Kone.If this comes off I will be convinced that Martinez just wants to see us fail. :(
You spend far too much time dwelling on Martinez. He has a new life devoted to building up Everton, not undermining Wigan.
He’s unlikely to sign Powell – he already has a good quota of midfield players. And he can hardly develop Barkley and Powell side by side.
He bought Kone as an alternative centre forward to Jelavic. The opportunity to sign Lukaku came later – and he would have been a fool to turn it down. Meanwhile, Kone has had an knee operation, so he won’t be sitting on the bench again this season.
The club shop could print tee-shirts saying; I’m one of the 983.
5,000 should be enough.
In 1847, Oscar Wilde wrote in The Canterville Ghost;
‘We have really everything in common with America nowadays except, of course, language.’
Manchester United value Powell much more highly than McCarthy – and they don’t want to sell.
Enjoy him while you can.
And now you’ve said it twice.
Powell may be promising but Martinez already has Barkley.
Does he need both?
Then there’s the UK road sign – Road liable to flooding.
Surely this is wrong. Shouldn’t it be either Road liable to flood or Road subject to flooding?
Michael Gove should get onto this straightaway. Mind you, he does look like a traffic accident waiting to happen.
The Oxford Dictionaries’ site says;
“There’s a widespread belief that these spellings belong only to American English, and that British English should use the ‘-ise’ forms instead, i.e. realise, finalise, and organise.
In fact, the ‘-ize’ forms have been in use in English spelling since the 15th century: they didn’t originate in American use, even though they are now standard in US English.”
So you have a choice. However, neither correct spelling nor conventional grammar concerns most posters here. It makes a refreshing change when a poster ends a sentence with a full stop and starts the next one with a capital letter.
…and the hope of Wigan pier.
Beausejour may be facing Johnson.
Even I could get a cross in when Johnson isn’t there.
And Hodgson is still looking as far afield as McManaman for his Brazil squad.
I hope this works out for the fans who wanted to go.
One of the pleasures of attending the DW is the good atmosphere and the lack of trouble from both home and away fans.
Instances such as Newcastle last season and Maribor this season remain thankfully rare.
Wigan are generally seen as a non-threatening club who offer away fans a good day out. Perhaps we’ve been over-generous – visitors last season often went home with three points too.
Assem Allam has only put £66 million into the club, and now he thinks he owns it.
Culture, politics and football too – I envy you!
It was a chance of adventure, and you took it. Well done – the opportunity may not come again.
