I’ll be interested to see the team that Coyle selects.

    Thursday Brugge away
    Sunday Ipswich home
    Tuesday Manchester City away

I presume the team will be flying to Belgium – the travelling could have been much worse for all three games. Even so, three games in six days is a tough schedule. There is bound to be some team rotation.

Which game will Coyle give top priority? My guess is Ipswich. That would make progress in the other two competitions more difficult.

Residents of Brugge would say that they speak Flemish.

Flemish television shows may even have sub-titles for Dutch speakers.

Perhaps, but I won’t actually be playing. The team wins; we enjoy the victory.

I’ve been worried about the high number of games that Wigan will have to play this season. 46+1+6+1+1=55 if they do not go further in any cup competitions.

It’s interesting to learn that Burnley played 61 games when Coyle took them to promotion. And the fans considered that he was quite sophisticated in his tactics too.

    Tickets for City

Match tickets will go on sale to 2013/2014 home season ticket holders from 9am on Monday 16th September 2013 (one ticket per valid season ticket).

In the event of any match tickets remaining, they will go on general sale to registered supporters of Wigan Athletic with a previous booking history for fixtures at the DW Stadium from 9am on Tuesday 17th September 2013.

Subject to availability, these tickets will be on sale online until 4.30pm on Friday 20th September 2013 and through the DW Stadium Ticket Office until 4pm on Monday 23rd September 2013.

I think a top six finish would be a more realistic ambition.

Wigan are beginning a run of seven games in three weeks. Let’s see how this affects their league form.

Keep the faith guys, it matters where we are in the last six games not the first.

That’s exactly why people are worried. You do have to clock up a fair number of wins during the season to get in a good position for the last six games.

And the early games are each worth three points, just like the final ones.

    Perhaps they wore non-marking soles.

Coyle has too many midfielders to choose from!

    McClean McArthur McCann McManaman
    Beausejour Watson Gomez Maloney
    Redmond Espinoza Powell Fyvie
plus others who could play in midfield – Perch, Shotton and Boyce

Signed by Coyle. Coyle is still experimenting – and it could take some time.

With two games a week, they may all get a game. Some could even play in their proper position.

You need good players to have a contingency plan and we didn’t meet that criteria and from what I saw yesterday we still don’t ! Yesterday was utter garbage !

April 2013; The prudent Martinez has overseen a whopping 22 per cent cut in Wigan’s wage-bill since he took over in 2009 – meaning the club no longer needs hand-outs from chairman Dave Whelan’s personal fortune.

Martinez has partly achieved this reduction by putting a three-year ceiling on contract lengths and he feels this works, even though it means Wigan lose more players on Bosmans.

Do you think it was Martinez’ idea to cut costs?

The present squad should be competitive in the Championship. It’s now up to Coyle to get the best out of it.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock; two more places to go ! This post is set to run !

Next up Chelski. Don’t think Bob’s new signings will save him. He could sign 10 strikers and still only play with one up front ( mind you, Lukaka is a good un ), Barry is pants and Macca is not as effective ( careful choice of word here ) as Fellani. So it’s bottom four on Saturday at 16:50pm[/quote]

Everton remain undefeated and Barry was Man of the Match. Your next predictions please!

Dobbie has become an attacking midfielder rather than a striker.

He has been a good Championship player and Blackpool want to take him back on loan.

No way will that Everton side hit the bottom four -deffo top ten after what I saw last night and not an ex Latics player in sight.

Everton scored on the stroke of halftime. Chelsea came out after the break and tore into Everton.

Martinez rearranged the team, taking off Jelavic and bringing on McCarthy. Mirrallas played up front on his own and Everton immediately looked much more secure. Chelsea found it harder to make chances and a win for Everton seemed likely from then on.

With a little luck, Everton might easily have won one or two of their first three games. Instead, they had a little luck yesterday. But put Lukaku into the team and Everton should look impressive.

And Baines was on the field too.

They won their place in Europe last season.

Surely this squad should aim for more than a place in mid-table this season.

Bournemouth did the same trick with Ted McDougall.

They’ve named the new stand after him – they could have rebuilt the whole ground with his transfer fee.
