If Roberto was still in charge we wouldn’t have signed six players by now; he’d be hanging on until 24 hours before transfer deadline then reeling off a stream of excuses.

But that’s not a fact – it’s just something that you’ve made up.

And we haven’t got the choice of Martinez or Coyle as manager, so your comparison is not only false, it’s pointless too.

If you still insist on looking back, Owen has been in this position before – and his record wasn’t very good. That’s why he was available to take on this job.

Coyle is doing things his way.

Let’s stop these futile comparisons with Martinez – he doesn’t work here any more.

Good management is making the most of your resources, and Martinez had the smallest resources in the Premier League.

Before the Cup Final, the common attitude was that winning the cup would be worth getting relegated. Well, we got both, so there should be no complaints.

‘On a free’ isn’t necessarily cheap.

Instead of a transfer fee, we pay (usually much) higher wages.

He’s dropped a fair few bollocks during his career.

    Joe Hart certainly has.

Can anybody tell me what we’re going to do now we’ve got four keepers? Has Owen got a secret tactic in mind?

    46 games – it’s been eight years!

Surely that’s enough to be going on with.

I’m still not convinced the Europa Cup is an attraction at all.

We’ve learned that two competitions are too much – let’s concentrate on the League.

We can send the second team to Rhyl – the first team has 42 big games to play.

I think Kone improved as the season went on. He led the team and held the ball up on his own. He showed that he can play as part of a team.

He’s certainly a Premier League forward. I enjoyed watching him and I doubt that we will see anyone as good for some time.

We’ll see how he gets on next season.

    Bala Town 1-0 Levadia Tallinn

Perhaps Rhyl and its chip culture came as a shock to Levadia. Pies could be our secret weapon!

    What are the pies like?

This is just a friendly – how much for a league match against the cup holders?

    17 August Bournemouth v Wigan

I’ve never even been to Rhyl.

    Europe’s a big continent.

Uefa Europa League Qualifying First Round

Bala Town kick off their European game tonight against Levadia Tallinn.

They will be playing at Belle Vue, home of Rhyl Town, as will Prestatyn Town. Airbus UK Broughton will play at Wrexham.

I accept that we need to make a good start to the season. But there isn’t room for Al-Habsi, Pollitt, Nicholls and Carson.

Something’s got to give. It would be unfortunate, but I think it’s going to be Al-Habsi. He did get a game at Wembley, but he missed the the high point – the Cup Final.
