Edinburgh, the only person appreciating Bickymon’s so-called “support” for our club will be the pub landlord.
All the moaning on here about DW not spending money etc, and then he deserts the club after 1 game of a 38 game season
Glad its not just me then…thought my comp was doing silly things
Bickymon, your argument about watching shyte = low numbers of Wiganers turning up. 2 games in last 18 months or so: WHU at home under Bruce and last season v Wolves (first game). WHU we were 7th or 8th and Wolves we’d just been universally praised for playing Villa off their own park…total attendance of home fans at both games approx 24K.
“imo DW is to blame for the lack of interest from the people of Wigan. Since we got promoted we have sold all our best players and continue to do so.”
How exactly is DW to blame for people not getting off their backsides, as far as prices go, he’s treated us like charity cases, and yet people moan about him not spending money. Do tell us how we are meant to survive at this level on people spending £13 a game to watch us without selling our best players. My only problem with the sale of players is that we have sold a few on the cheap imo.
No doubt some of those moaning about crowds and lack of spending were doing from the comfort of various pubs on Sat afternoon.
That’s just ridiculous, Spurs away was a one off in that it was the worst result in our league history and one of the worst top flight results ever seen. Yes Blackpool was very, very bad, but a refund, don’t be so daft.
That was a Premier League low, we were awful on Saturday, but even worse there was no passion and fight from the players…..that at whatever level is unforgivable. All time low for me was the PNE game at Springfield Park when we had a 2 sheet programme and Bobby Charlton came over the tannoy at half time to appeal to supporters to save the club….it looked like we were going to go out of business that week
Was talking about the same thing last night Griff, Whelan going into the dressing room (Wrexham in LDV wasn’t it?). Not sure it would work now with this lot, too many of them (maybe not all) would just be happy to take the money regardless of whether they want to play for Bobby or not.
As for N’Zogbia, if he did walk out of training, thats total disrespect to manager & staff, players and us fans, but unfortunately we’re not in a financial position to tell him to disappear, rot without playing any games, until his contract is up and then let him see who wants a player who hasn’t played a game for ages.
That, B&W army, sums up the problem of support perfectly. You’ve got 1 team beginning its season in the top flight and another having just about won the league, in its last home game and yet just 24K Wiganers turn up, despite as far as I know, both games being reasonably priced for the 2 clubs.
Too many Wiganers, unfortunately want to see their teams play, but only if its from the comfort of their own home or the pub.
We’ve already seen the disgraceful lack of support that Latics get in this town, the town wouldn’t get off its backside to watch Bruce’s side that nearly got us into Europe.
We’ve got a club to be proud of, supporters that turn up every week and love the club, yet we’re let down by a town that doesn’t want to get down to the DW, no matter what anyone does. We could have a season like Fulham’s last season and still some Wiganers wouldn’t watch us
Why do the club need to comment, Sky are just speculating….if they comment on “SSN understands etc” they might as well comment on every mention of WAFC in the press. If and when Sky say a transfer request HAS been submitted, then they can be expected to comment.
Spot on about Hindley Blue….if Charlie has no intention of asking for a move, why boo him just because of SSN? Still I’ve no doubt some of our idiot supporters will boo him at every chance tomorrow on the basis of a yellow bar on their TV
Nailed on Sunderland will put in a bid, whatever fee we’ve decided to accept from anyone else, put an extra £3m on for them, after all Harrods shopping is very expensive
No, I’ve never been there.
You’re right Griff, got to get a decent fee, somewhere around £10m should be ok and more importantly a good replacement. If he doesn’t want to play for us then get rid, that said in fairness to Charlie, its only speculation, he hasn’t actually handed in a transfer request yet.
Be disappointed if he does go to Sunderland, hopefully if he does leave us he can will go to a club where he can achieve some real success, ie Juventus or Marseille…and I wouldn’t blame him if he’s got the choice of those 2 clubs.
Be fair truelatic, he’s only testing the functions on his computer on a regular basis, at least we know the cut and paste facility is working ;)
Presume you’re joking trulatic, if not then change your name to plasticlatic
You’re right JR, though I’m glad he’s gone, he has wasted an opportunity to have a good career in the top flight. Absolutely no doubting his ability…..but his workrate suggests he doesn’t want to put in the effort to match his skill
Reckon it was splinters in his backside, trouble was it was only discovered when he tried to move off it in Cardiff to actually do some work on a football pitch
