“surely we should get deals”……ask the club if they’d consider season ticket prices lower than League 2 or Conference clubs, oh hand on a minute, they’ve tried that and still there’s some whingers about
*shakes head
Typical Germans, they are well organised and work hard for each other. Apart from *Schweinsteiger and Ozul, don’t really have any outstanding players but have the knack when it comes to the tournaments. Even Podolski and Klose who have done nothing for their clubs recently, have been superb. Only difference between this Germany and what we usually see is that this lot are worth watching when they turn it on.
Have to say the comment about being proud to play for their country made me laugh, Ozul’s Turkish and their squad has about 5 Poles in it.
*Absolutely superb players, the pair of them
Spot on Pelican, but until we have 1 body that actually knows what its doing and isn’t just interested in looking after its own, it will never happen. There surely isn’t another footballing nation that has 3 organisations running its national game, the PL/FL and FA need to come under the umbrella of 1 body of football people, who will run the game in the interests of everyone, from the Champions right down to the grass roots.
Pelican and thirtytwo, you don’t really think he’ll actually be spending any money on PNE do you? Surely when he leaves them, it’ll be with more money in his pocket than he’s actually wasted on them.
“He did a good Cuckoo job on Orrell rufc.I can see a “Famous” rl club upping stumps and moving into the heartlands of the majority of their supporters”
Will gladly help em to move…..not taking trophy cabinet though, don’t want dust all over the back of my car ;)
These eggchasers, they’re not really obsessed by Wigan’s number 1 team playing in one of the best leagues in a worldwide sport are they….or have I got that wrong, I thought they didn’t care about Wigan Athletic FC ;)
If there’s any truth in the Terry rumours about the players not being fully behind what he said in that press conference, think we’ll find out from one of the players soon enough….especially as he gave it the big “I am” and how he was a leader etc.
He comes out with all that and then gives a performance yesterday that would have got him dropped from a Sunday league side, absolute disgrace, although he wasn’t helped by Upson. Together that must have been the slowest, most inept England centre half pairing that’s been seen in a long time.
You might be right Garswood, but just checked their home ST prices….dearest £670 for 23 games…nearly £30 a match for Championship football, yet some tight a***s in Wigan moan about paying £13-£14 per game for top flight football.
Oh aye, he’s Wigan’s Mr Sport alright….egg men hate him as much as we do
Don’t know about being on a Sunday, but maybe it might get moved to the DW. Blackpool apparently requested 2 away games first as they’ve no chance of building the new stand in time. Ground will only hold 12,000, we’ll be lucky to get 600 tickets.
Poor old PNE…they see their hated seaside rivals get promoted to the Premier League and now they have Doris as chairman, bet they can’t wait for the season to start
As I reckon it might have happened somewhere between 1990-1992, I’ll have a guess at Phil Daley or Don Page
Belletti would be a great signing, though he’s surely going to want a wage that is way out of our league. Would have thought there might be a chance he’d go back to Spain anyway
He was right to speak out about the Caldwell sending off, it was a poor decision, but hopefully he will have learned from his mistake of calling the ref a liar and a cheat, unless you can prove a ref lied, you cant say those sort of things.
With a bit of luck the refereeing standards next season will improve, as there have been plenty of awful decisions made against most of the Premier League clubs during the last season.
Sadly, I think I know this…..didn’t the Indians want to play bare-footed and Fifa refused to allow them to?
