Best 2 in Wigan are Skin Graffiti and Body Worx, end of. You get what you pay for.

Cloudy Lane and State of Play.

I will also be backing an outsider and maybe a favorite, not made my mind up yet.

Our 2 best performances at home have to be Chelsea and Liverpool surely. We lost at home to Villa and although we weren’t bad we never really looked like beating them. I should also point out they were on an awful run of form and still are considering how well they’ve done this season.

I would pick Boyce over Melchiot personally but he’s been injured recently.

I have faith and am fully behind the manager.

Can Martinez do anything right though?

He plays Scotland in the hole and he scores yet people still persist to claim he’s clueless? Surely playing Scotland there worked?!?!

Scharner is useless in my eyes but surely he proves to everybody on Sunday that he’s NOT a centre back. He can’t play simple defence and cost us the equaliser which then put pressure on us and cost us the game. Also, it was their centre back who got the winner so Scharner may have been at fault for that although the only person I can see to blame is Kirkland who seemed to just help it in the net with a nice little touch!

As for the formation, talk sport stated that Wigan were playing 4-2-4 when going forward and deserved to be leading at the break.

What people see from Martinez is the negative side of his formation. The slow build up play works for the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal, etc but when it’s being played by decent players rather than quality players it can go wrong but surely it’s his job to adjust the team to himself rather than adjust himself to the team? He is obviously playing the typical spanish football which helped Barca to a convincing 4-1 against Arsenal yesterday and i’m confident he’ll find the right players to do so (although I don’t believe we’ll be a patch on Barca)!

Martinez’s formation works in all sorts of different ways depending on who is in possesion and how the game is shaping. We will dictate the play rather than hoof and chase. It has worked but not consitently and that is something i’m sure we’ll be looking to work on so show a little faith, Martinez is here for the long run and we’ll NOT go down!

There’s that much sh!t being posted on this thread it should be moved to the non-football forum!

We are in a similar position to the likes of Wolves, Burnley, Blackburn, Bolton, Stoke, Hull, Portsmouth, etc.

All the above bar maybe 2 teams are bigger clubs than us and have been in the PL far longer (over time). If a player is given the option to join 1 of the above clubs or us where would be ranked? Roberto has managed to convince a few players to choose Wigan over other clubs so that’s good work on his part.

What we have is ambition, that is used regularly by Roberto and has been in the past with Bruce in charge when he talked about signing Zog and Catts.

Who have the likes of Wolves, Burnley and Hull signed recently? They are teams who have to gamble on overseas players at low prices and the odd English player from the Championship or a Premiership fringe player. We are all in the same boat but some people on here think we should be on par with the likes of Villa, Spurs, Everton, etc. Maybe one day but not just yet!

I’ve had 6 tattoo’s in total. I used Body Worx – Pemberton and Skin Graffiti – Wigan (opposite were the baths used to be). Skin Graffiti are really good as are Body Worx. I’m currently having the 3 seperate 1’s on my arm made into a top half sleeve at Skin Graffiti with Daz. Have my next 2 hour session this Friday.

I would highly recommend both studios.

It was a bad decision but unless you’re a top 4 club it’s highly unlikely you’ll be succesful with an appeal.

Look at what Gerrard (and the likes of) get away with week in week out and Caldwell who is a naturally hard tackler wins the ball clearly without trying to hurt the player and he sees red.

It’s ridiculous and we should appeal but, for what it’s worth I doubt anything will come of it.

A steward told me last night we had trebled our sales since Wednesday and they were expecting over 700 from Wigan. Whether there was 700 there last night or not I can’t say BUT we were louder than City who had 45,000 fans at the ground and much more vocal until going 2-0 down.

Considering our position in the league, the fact we don’t have a strong away following anymore, it was a Monday night and the game was on ESPN for fans to watch at home/pub on tv that’s not too bad.

Bolton took a couple of hundred fans to Goodison the other week according to talk sport, that was a Saturday afternoon game after a 4-0 win against us. Stan Collymore was continually pointing out the fact Bolton only took a couple of hundred to Everton and was giving stats such as the distance, etc. People won’t pay to watch football, it’s not just Wiganers.

Spot on Standish, Moreno and Hugo ran their socks off for the majority of the game and up until the sending off we were on top (stats don’t lie)!

It was unlucky, we were done by the ref again, not the 1st or last time it will happen.

We have to accept the defeat although it’s hard to take and credit to the players who, after going down to 10 were still on top for a short while before the quality City have (hundreds of millions worth of players) shone through.

I saw your son trying to put the flag up and they wouldn’t allow it yet when I put mine up on the same seats the stewards didn’t say a thing. I tried to find him after to tell him i’ll help him put it up next to mine but I didn’t see him again until after the game when catching the train back to Wigan.

As soon as I put mine up there were 4 other flags incl. a spain flag which was good to see.

Poor following on the whole and that spoiled the atmosphere although we were quite noisy throughout. Fantastic performance by our players, even after going down to 10 men we were the better side. Half way through 2nd half the stats showed we had 55% of poss, more shots on goal, more on target and more corners. We were on top for 75% of the game bar a few chances and a poor refereeing decision has cost us in the end as the quality shone through. Bad goalkeeping by Stojkovic for their 1st goal, thought he backed out and ducked the challenge although at the other end I think the ref would have classed that as a foul.

Never mind, good effort and Martinez’s reaction to the ref at the end of the game summed it up.

I would much prefer Saints to win!

Thanks for the offer pal, would defo come but i’m working till 4:30/5 so there’s no way I could make it on time. We’ve seen the 5:56 train and that looks most likely at the moment for us.
