Thanks, not on i-tunes though!
It stinks!
The FA have one rule for one and one rule for another.
He is a poor keeper in my opinion.
Now, I am not saying everyone who thinks he’s good is wrong as we all have opinions but, for me, Kirkland is a very poor keeper and I would drive him to Sunderland is they offer £5m in the summer.
I was at the game on Saturday and as someone has stated previously Kirkland is the least of our worries but the goals he let in were partly his fault. The 1st goal went straight through him, he couldn’t save a penalty save his life, the 3rd was poor positioning, giving Muamba an easy placed shot (decent finish I should point out) and the 4th was the same as the 3rd for me, poor positioning. He’s also slow to get down at times with his boney frame!
All the above could be helped with a decent defence in fairness and, Kirkland does have the odd game where he helps us win, draw or lose by a smaller margain.
P.S. He can’t kick a ball, why has nobody worked on this with him? He finds touch more times than not and, when aiming for Scharner he seems to find the likes of N’Zogbia who has no chance against a big strong back 4 like Bolton’s.
What would be a great sporting weekend for me?
Wigan win at Bolton, not fussed what the score as long as we win.
All the teams below and around us lose (or draw if playing each other).
My fantasy team gets over 100 points this gameweek.
Wigan rugby lose against Hull tonight.
Perfecto!
remember villa and wigan play twice so stick milner as cpt ;) [/quote]
Not a chance, not got him in my team anyway. Kirkland in net for 2 clean sheets and Drogba captain for his 2 goals this weekend.Sorted!

I have got us down for either 12 or 14 points between now and end of season. I think, if we get that we will have done well and will finish 14th.
Quote from Noblot forum:
The home support will count a lot in this game, if it turns up that is!!!!!!! If the Bolton populous want us to stay in the Premiership then we need 28,000 for this key relegation battle. Wigan will probably bring 4,000 so we need 24,000 from Bolton. Now is the time for the Bolton fans to be truely counted.
This guy is deluded for 2 reasons:
1. Bolton will not get 24,000 home fans on Saturday and will fail to do so for a long time.
2. We will not be taking 4,000 on Saturday, if we do I would be made up and shocked but in reality I would expect between 2,000 and 2,500.
He is going to be really let down when he turns up on Saturday!
Why would a (or group of) grown man/men take a banner to a game? We are hardly in a false position, we were in the same position this time last year under Bruce but I didn’t see any banners then. The 2nd half of last season was a joke, we were awful and although we didn’t get beat 9-1 or lose 10-0 over 2 games to Utd we were getting beat left, right and centre by other teams including a heavy loss at Stoke and West Brom.
What we didn’t do last season was beat a top 4 side, something we have done twice this season and we still have to play Arsenal and Chelsea so there’s a possibility we can do it again under Martinez.
Bruce was in charge for what, around 18 months and didn’t manage to beat a top 4 side in how many attempts? Jewell, for all the memories and good times he brought the club didn’t manage it in the league (beat Arsenal at home and over 2 games in the cup). Roberto took charge in the summer, stated he needed 3 transfer windows to get his side how he would like it and so far he’s had 2 so really, providing he keeps us up this season we should only be judging him next season.
The formation Roberto plays isn’t negative unless you look at it in a negative way. Yes, we only play 1 striker but when we go forward we have that striker along with 2 wingers and an attacking midfielder so we have a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 attacking formation. When we’ve not got the ball our wingers can then cover their full backs and our attacking midfielder can fill in as a centre mid so our formation changes to a 4-5-1 or 4-3-2-1 defensive formation. What Roberto accomplished on Monday night was how to tactically out-play/class a Liverpool team who play the same sort of style.
Roberto has openly stated he wants to have us in Europe within the next 3 season (including this season) and we all know he is a proud supporter and ex-player or Wigan Athletic.
It will hurt him as a fan, past player and manager just as much as it hurts you or me when we lose BUT his job is to fight back and on the whole this season we have reacted well to poor results and have been very unlucky on more than 1 occasion (Birmingham away and Spurs at home most recently with a laughable penalty decision and a clear offside).
I have supported Roberto from day 1 and will continue to do so as I believe he will bring success. I am a huge fan of his, always have been and although I don’t know for sure I firmly believe and hope Roberto will be in charge of our club for many more years to come taking us on to much bigger things. I certainly wouldn’t prefer it to be anybody else!
fingers crossed they win their semi-final, they’re already relegated (in reality) and we can just add to their misery all being well.I say fingers crossed they win their semi as they may consider giving their better players a rest having 2 games in 1 week and already being down and out.
Surely playing pompey during the week can only benefit ourselves?
Who gives a f about the away following, I want 3 points and fingers crossed they win their semi-final, they’re already relegated (in reality) and we can just add to their misery all being well.
I for one am happy the date will be moved back, it also gives us a game in hand over the teams around us.
It would actually be nice to see/hear a drummer in the south stand. Very few clubs have no home end to attack and the poor support in that stand doesnt help the team. What are you waiting for?
I spoke to a guy yesterday who had been waiting on the phone for half an hour to purchase 2 tickets for Bolton.
According to the website we have an initial allocation which usually sells out, we are given more tickets which we can’t sell and then it’s announced you can pay on the day. I would imagine we’ll end up with either all the lower or half the lower and the full top tier.
I’ll be there!
The team were brilliant last night, well done boys and well done Roberto. That basically just sums up last night. The whole team were fantastic including the subs. Martinez got his tactics spot on and we were the better side all game. Liverpool had a brief spell in 2nd half but overall, we deserved the win and could of had 4 by the end. Martinez has managed to beat a top 4 side this season, something that no manager before him has managed to achieve and he’s now beaten another quite convincingly. Congratulations! P.S. The atmosphere at the DW was fantastic last night, just goes to show when the players perform so do the fans. Roll on Saturday!
Replays have shown that Gerrard did seem to make a v sign towards the ref after he booked him and the Torres tackle was just frustration, it wasn’t a sending off BUT he did that much moaning to the ref all game and kicked the ball away on 2 occasions. Valencia got sent off for less than that when we played at anfield last season.
Great post and one I completely agree with. Playing McCarthy alongside Diame worked well and gave Scharner freedom and he worked his socks off (as did the whole team). Kirkland hardly had a save to make against 5 times european and 18 times english champions. That is a great achievement and just shows how solid our defence was last night and can be when playing well. I do think Moreno is showing potential, he is still young and has a few nice touches. He didn’t play badly and didn’t stop running for the whole time he was on. I don’t think he’s 100% fit yet though, Roberto will do work with him and I think if he performs well between now and the end of the season we may see him make a permanent move in the summer.
