I’d drive Rodallega to Stoke for £7m + Beattie (would rather Fuller in all honesty but £7m alone is plenty for him). This lad has his good days but remember, he’s slower than slow and even though he had 3 yards on Big Sol against Arsenal he still came 2nd to the ball!
Bramble is prone to a mistake and, at the moment is crocked. Have you considered (due to him being overweight and clumsy) the backroom staff have discussed whether he can return to fitness after his injury and also whether he’ll be any better from last season. Remember, he was one of the many problems with our defence last season and was marking Jermain Defoe when we played Spurs away!
Figueroa and N’Zogbia are also being linked with moves but nothing is for certain. If a player doesn’t look interested then let him go, we don’t want players who don’t want to play for our club and i’m sure Roberto doesn’t want them here either hence the reason he sold Clattermole.
To call the club a joke is ridiculous though. The stories are all media speculation, remember Hugo was going to Arsenal, Villa and Stoke to name but a few in January. Birmingham have had 3 bids rejected for N’Zogbia which tells me Roberto plans on keeping him and if Figueroa goes them that’s fine, i’ve never known a full back get caught out of position so much! I like the lad, he’s one of my favorite players because of his build and no nonsense play but he’s not irreplaceable. Roberto wants 3 new faces and i’m sure he’ll have replacements lined up for anyone who does leave (he said so himself). Have faith.
I like it, full stop. Just my opinion though.
It’s good, like I said. Better than last season and the best thing for me is it’s unique, nobody else has that sort of design. Stripes are old news, the design with gold trim looks very smart in my opinion.
I’ve received the email and the kit looks good, better than last season.
Whelan speaks his mind. Something that doesn’t always look good but when talking about England I think he’s spot on. Tends to speak sense especially when saying England should be managed by an English manager.
Is that the Ashley Cole who was suppose to be marking the 2 goal german b@5tard playing on the right yesterday? Yes, he was the best of a bad bunch the previous 3 games but playing against mediocre wingers. As soon as he comes up against 1 of germany’s biggest prospects he plays awful. Just as bad if not worse than the other 3 clowns in the back 4 yesterday. Nobody deserved a mention on the England team, James was given credit by the bbc pundits but he got beat twice at his near post, that is amateur goalkeeping, what you’re taught as a kid, never get beat at your near post. Barry and Lampard were passengers, yes Lampard scored and hit the bar but on the whole he has been awful. Rooney was by far our worst player over the 4 games and Gerrard didn’t take his chance to lead a team as captain. I have and always will believe in having a manager who is English. Redknapp with Becks and Pearce as assistants makes sense to me for the Euros. Capello still needs a translator when speaking to the English media ffs!
I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Simon Davies, he’s a quality player and although he’s been injured for a while he’s been great for Fulham since returning.
Also, Jamie O’Hara on loan? Fuller on a free? Tempt Pederson into switching? There’s a few on that list worth a punt but those 4 in particular for me would be great additions.
11. Consistency is the key next season, grinding out wins and draws will be essential and is something I believe Martinez will work on in pre-season.
I am intrigued. Seriously, how do you work on grinding out a draw in pre-season?
What I meant by that was Martinez will want to work on how his team can keep a lead and win/draw a game when we’ve gone a goal or few down. Maybe pre-season friendlies could be a start? If we have 5 friendlies try and win all 5 or not lose any of the 5, that would be consistency right griff?Jimmy Culshaw :DYe, Jimmy is a Chelsea fan who was born in Wigan and lived here all his life. Heard a great story from him in the pub a couple of years ago now from the Chelsea and Wigan game at the bridge.
1. I agree but they should be made to work for their place, Gohouri and Moses were 2 of our better players against Hull so should both be in contention next season, without a doubt.
2. Why not sign a keeper who can compete with Kirkland although it looks as though young Smithies is on the radar as a young back-up which will be key as Mike Pollitt can work with him as well as Kirky and the g’keeping coach.
3. It looks as though our young keeper (Nicholls) is a decent player + we have a few young lads who may make a name for themselves but there’s plenty of young talent to be signed and I think that’s most likely starting with McArthur from Hamilton (was on trial a couple of weeks ago).
4. As above except the fringe players. We need to sign players who are good enough to get into the 1st team so competition for places is fierce and gives Martinez a headache each week. The young players we sign/bring through can be used as back-up/fringe players until they’re ready.
5. Disagree. I think we just need better players in various positions to make the system work.
6. Proved against Hull he’s not always better down the middle but on the whole, he looks more dangerous as a striker although he’s scored quite a few from the left incl. 2 at Burnley.
7. I strongly agree, this also confuses full backs and offers another dimension to our attacking play.
8. I think we’ll see more fans in the South due to the offers, hopefully they’re new faces to build on our average attendance.
9. I would rather a new right back, a full international who can take Mario’s place leaving both himself and Boyce as back-up. This will also provide good competition for places and strength in depth.
10. Can’t argue, would love a trip the Wembley.

12. A decent kit (home and away).
13. Koumas + others out the door, proved their no good and it’s time to say goodbye.
14. Hugo, Zog and Figueroa still at Wigan.
I should also point out that I could have simply been winding people up on this forum trying to get a reaction. Could I be or did I defo go on the pitch?
Yes you did, and your backtracking is exruciatingly embarrassing. I haven’t seen anything in your previous posts to suggest that you have the wit to initiate and keep up this kind of wind-up.
And what is so fascinating about running about on somebody else’s grass anyway? Don’t you have a garden?
You have been checking my previous posts and yet you call me embarrasing?I should also point out I didn’t attend the game on Monday, I was working. I don’t own a mobile phone and I have a battery powered car which only goes 30mph at full pelt.
I have covered my ass but thanks for the offer jungle!
i hope for your sake alex_wigan that mister whelan does not spend his spare time reading this message board because if he does then you have admitted invading the pitch during the game and he could have your ip address from this message boards administration and check your name and address on his ticket database and remove you from it i also hope no police officers read this message board in there spare time and decide to follow you the next time you are driving as you have set yourself up as a target for them if all this happens you may find your yourself being someones girlfriend whilst serving your custodial sentence
You’re reading into my posts a little too much

The reaction of some people regarding the pitch celebration is way too extreme. Calling for bans???!!! Next thing you know these same people will be moaning about low crowds.
I’ve been on the pitch at Bury, Preston, Burnley, Stockport, Blackpool to name but a few celebrating goals. I did exactly the same on Monday and to see the sort of reaction from some of our ‘fans’ is just remarkable.
Tea Bag Head hits the nail on the head by saying in as many words what’s the big fuss.
Also, bickymon realises the club won’t be kind enough to issue 3 year bans to our fans.
I was not making myself out to be a rebel, simply pointing out the fact that on a daily basis I do things that aren’t legal.
The pitch invasion was harmless, probably the best part of the game for many of the young kids who went on the pitch especially the young lad who ended up with Watson’s shirt.
I can see no harm in it myself and the older guys who I saw on the pitch were all happy in celebration of the goal. You see players running into the crowd to celebrate and they are booked for it as it’s not allowed in the game anymore, fans aren’t allowed to run onto the pitch to celebrate with the players (these kids heroes) and what will be next to take more fun out of the game?
Try ebay, £300+ I heard!
