think it was steve kember who got sacked after we beat them 5-0
Powell needs to show me something this season. hes done nothing whatsoever so far apart from his trademark playacting. Thought he would be up for it and Gary would have got the best out of him, but so far very dissapointed.
Yet the likes of Morsey whos club didnt want to sell and was one of their best players we loan out… cant see the logic in bringing in the likes of McDonald from what ive seen of him so far.
4 2 Norwich
Donny how inconsiderate of you .. Trying to put Jim out of a job ? Surely that’s why the window was invented in the first place ?
Massive step up? not one team we have played so far have impressed me. we could have won all but for our own doing. playing power at right wing back when he is the give and go man in our midfield is scandalous. Powell has done absolutely nothing at all so far, still looks like a spoilt kid. As for the stupidness of playing it out from the keeper short at every given opportunity when attackers are hurtling towards you, thats just stupid beyond belief. We have a good squad easy enough to compete at this level but stupid tactics and some questionable signings are getting us into unneccesary trouble even at this early stage of the season.
Admins, please move this to the “non-football stuff” category
I think Gibley is the new workhorse going forward..
He could look to play powell further up top, with grigg, then gomez attacking midfielder to support them. Drop perkins. We would then have power as defensive midfielder and Jordi as attacking midfielder, where as at the moment, perkins and power play too similar a game.
He hasn’t been brought in to sit on the bench, the key question is who is going to make way for MacDonald?
My guess would be perkins.[/quote]
Perkins natural successor would have been Morsey but if the rumours are true about him leaving then yeh I would agree he could replace perks.
I think the club have said there will be no pay on the day tickets this season ?
Is any of this doom and gloom really neccessary? This time last year we had just lost 2-0 at Coventry and looked what happened after that.We have scored on the opening day, so that must be a positive, c’mon.
But Horc, We only 45 games left to save our season :(
And only 45 games left to save our season :(
“Wigan were content to defend their lead and paid the penalty for allowing City to dominate possession in the second half”
As for Pierce, in my opinion the club couldn’t win in this situation – he had an offer from a club down south where he is from, he expressed a wish to go (by the way didn’t go on strike, kick up a stink etc, just got on with his job) and he only had 12 months left on his contract. yes we could have made him stay, but then we could have had an unhappy player and also lost him for nothing. The fact he moved to a club a division lower shows it had nothing to do with ambition or money, purely to be closer to his family, after all footballers are human beings like us. Good Luck to him I say.
