My choice would be Phelan, he had a lot to do with what went on on the Utd training pitch and they didn’t do to bad did they. If Phelan could persuade Scholes to jump on board as well till the end of the season then I’m pretty sure a play-off place would be achievable.

Scholes is down to earth character, the type Whelan likes, not the outspoken type like Holloway. You know exactly what you get with Holloway on the pitch and I don’t think my ticker could take gun-ho tactics till the end of the season.

When Coyle was announced as the new Wigan manager I can’t honestly say I heard one good word for him.

I can’t stand people who smurk when answering a question, it’s like their saying ” you thick ?” or ” I know m8″. I’m so glad the fookers gone, it’s a shame it wasn’t done sooner, we might be in the knockout stages on the Europa and a trip away next year. the Bolton prick.

Has our chief scout dib dib McGinley gone ? what a waste of a wage that’s been.

Who’s Graham Anthony when he’s at home?

Born in South Shields, Anthony was a trainee at Sheffield United but failed to make the breakthrough into the first team squad, making only three league appearances as a substitute.[1] After brief spells at Swindon Town and Plymouth Argyle he settled at Carlisle United where he played regularly for three seasons.[1]
He subsequently dropped into non-league football before retiring some time after 2006 to run a guest house in Cumbria.[1]

He runs a B&B so he’s in with a chance

Well looking at what’s on offer I would take Phelan till the end of the season with the view of a contract at the end and get him to persuade Paul Scholes in as coach/ assistant manager.

You can’t say Scholes won’t get the respect from the players. Like you said, they just need pulling together and playing for each other. In fairness to the players, I’ve not heard much moaning about them as a whole.

he’s still got it ;-

lets be honest
with the quality of players already at manure even griff could manage them
has for jewell hope he keeps away , already had one guy who came back to manage and jumped ship and couldn’t care one jot about the 2hat now
lets remember jewell for what he did and respect it,and not go the 2hat’s way

I agree ,no Jewell for me let’s move on hey . I think Fergie will have put a good word in for Phelan and DW will go for him purely because other managers will more than likely be wanting a 18 month 2 year contracts were as Phelan, I guess would be offered a till the end of the season contract to prove he’s worthy of a contract so it will suit both parties. Throw in Scholes and I think it’s the perfect choice.

I just hope chief scout “dib dib McGinley” goes as well.

Did you see the chap in the centre of the Boston stand run down the stand and start waving his ticket in Coyle’s direction? He wasn’t happy

A guy nr the away end in the West stand shouted just before half time ” taxi for Coyle , blue star are on their way” . Coyle mouthed back :- “f*** off”, if he hurrys up and jacks he could join Barnsley and have them down for Christmas.

If it were your club and you watched it grow from nothing , would you let one man kill it in a year ?, I can’t honestly see DW putting up with that.

I think the 2nd half performance compared to the 1st half shambles basically dug Coyles own grave. It just proves that, as a whole there’s nothing wrong with the squad, we need a game plan and the correct player selection , something Coyle knows nothing about.

Do you think he’ll go back in for Mike Phelan ?, If Coyle goes then it’s gonna be someone on a contract till the end of the season so I think the likes of Holloway and co won’t go with that.

Turned some decent players average, buys two useless strikers and wants to spend money on more crap signings in January. Think uncle dave will have a word tonight.

How can you sack someone when we hit the bar twice, their keeper pulled off a string of good saves and we created numerous chances.
He needs to move on swiftly, for the sake of the the rest of the season.

Like I’ve said before, if we have 2 bad results Sunday and Weds there’s a possibility he could be on his way. I don’t think DW will hang around till after Christmas and a transfer window weeks away now is the time.

At 66/1 to be the next Championship manager to leave his post it’s worthy of a fiver if nout else.

Is he injured ? I saw him in his training gear walking past the back of the South stand about 1:30pm just before the Brighton game, he didn’t look too pleased. He looked like he was heading to the small private players car park.
It’s gotta be that or an appearance fee of some sort is due.

Please don’t say Coyle just doesn’t fancy him. I thought he was excellent at the end of the season filling in at the left back role. Looks like Crainey is keeping him out the team.
That must feel like been done at darts by Stevie Wonder.

It’s comments such as those from readers on there though that make me want RM to do well at Everton.

He is constantly berated for us struggling and going down without anyone taking into account our budget, the fact he was told to trim the wage bill, our standing alongside those we finished above time and again. I doubt we’d have been waltzing into Europe with someone else at the helm. We’d have faced the exact same struggles.

To be fair the comments were aimed more at the fact that Utd would never employ a manager who had just taken a team down ! DW’s comments on the other hand are quite simply laughable ! :)
What’s the betting DW will announce shortly we have the best manager in the division.
Something tells me that ain’t going to happen.Lets hope he’s still got enough marbles left to see that this guy is useless as a manager and any future money will be like throwing it down the pisher.

I don’t like saying this but I’d take a hefty loss on Sunday if I knew it would mean he’s gone by Monday, sad I know but this is bad.

I think a loss against Derby and he might be on his Harse come Sunday night.

if Jones at Wednesday is 4/5 Coyle has got to be worth a tenner

which I have done :)

The one thing I’ve noticed is , When Martinez was here there was alot of “for and against” but with Coyle there’s none. If you owned the club would you honestly trust him in Jan with your money ??. Lets hope he acts like he did with Rioch and get’s someone in to clean this mess up.
