Seems like young Callum couldnt be arsed again
Even Boycie was having a go at him
Can you blame him? He didn’t have a role. Rather than hug the line he was always 10 yards in and was either being bypassed or taking the ball standing still and just passing it back out cos he had 2-3 players on him. Several times tonight it looked like he was the right back and Boyce was the marauding winger.
When he finally got into the game with about 15 min to go he got subbed!
Exactly what I thought , why was he never more than 5 yard off Boyce in the first half unless he’s was been told to stay back ? and then folk say he can’t be harsed ? . He makes one good run and cuts it back for the goal then gets subbed.
Has any manager in recent history for Wigan missed such an opportunity as tonight to get the crowd behind him and the side?
I’m sorry to say but this for me is the last straw with Coyle.
His team selection is OK but his tactics are horrendous. His substitutions are horrendous and the team obviously have no desire to play how he wants.
Excuse after excuse and his main problem from what I can gather is very few fans wanted him in the first place. ( me being one of them.)
I’m sorry but enough is enough. I don’t have any manager in mind but if we stick with this guy not only will we not progress but the fan base we have will soon dwindle.4 years of hard work and passing game down the drain in 4 months
.A life long Bolton fan I know wet his skids when it was announced Coyle was the next Wigan manager.
He said he will rape your club of everything thats good. He also said , were still rebuilding the mess he left behind at Bolton from youth to 1st team.
I thought it was a bit of sour grapes but as each week goes by he seems there could be some truth in what he says.
Coyle on the tv looked totally lost at the final whistle and if it takes a hiding off Derby this Sunday for Whelan to get rid then I’ll take a it, get rid of him and move on.
I’ll vote for Kav as new manager, we need someone who knows the club and what were about.Oh and finally , glad to see Coyle playing Macca in a supporting right back role 1st half, tactical genius. From attack to defender in 4 months , hats off.
When I got in I had a quick peek at the goals and then it pans over to Coyle who you can lip read saying , “fookin load of rubbish”.
Players look like they can’t be harsed especially with tactics not even Coyle can figure out.
MrWhelan be a good man and relieve Coyle of his duties will ya !. The Wigan of 7 months ago would have tore them to shreds. The Wigan of today couldn’t tear a sheet of bog roll off the hanger. To think now we go to Maribor hoping another team lose. If we lose to Derby I reckon he’ll be gone.
And he dishes out more high praise for our long gone ex manager. That’s like banging on about how good in bed your ex is while your new missus listens in.
Unless my ears need syringing I didn’t hear big Dave singing any praise for the efforts of our current manager, or is he far from happy ?, (the silent treatment).
Its been obvious for two months we are struggling up front. Half the league seem like they are loaning strikers yet we persevere with these two has beens. Does Coyle watch the same games? We have one who’s been waiting for 1/2 a chance and Coyle sends him on loan,
Dicko , scores 1 , and makes 1 for his first match on loan at Rotherham. But then again Coyle can’t see past the end of his nose.
All the players look so disjointed and clueless you wonder what tactics (if any) Coyle’s trying to put across to the players.
Like I said before , I’m not having a go at the players, as a whole I personally think it’s one of the best squads in the Championship if it were used right. If Holt was used like he was at Norwich , wide/midfield players aiming balls to his feet and head while he’s attacking the six yard box rather than the ball been lumped up to him with he’s back to goal 20 yrd out then he might get us 15-20 goals but the way he’s been used he’ll be lucky to get us 5.
Lets have Kav in from Carlisle, if only for the Roberts ball at Highbury :)
We’re like a broken up jigsaw without the picture.Very good! Martinez certainly had a very clear vision of what he wanted.
Coyle has shown very little ability to reassemble the remaining pieces to reveal a vision of his own. I’m disappointed and surprised, because he produced successful teams in his time at Burnley and Bolton.
He had probably taken Burnley as far as they could go when he left. At Bolton, he introduced attractive, attacking play in place of the dour style of Megson. But the 5-0 semi-final defeat by Stoke was the turning point.
In his relegation season, he failed (or was unable) to replace his two forwards – Sturridge and Elmander. And he started the season without Holden, Lee and Mears, all suffering from long term injuries. The sale of Cahill and the tragic loss of Muamba then proved too much for the Wanderers.
So, like Roberto, Coyle has been unlucky with injuries. But he failed to recruit effective new forwards at Bolton, just as he has at Wigan. I really don’t know if the pieces will eventually drop neatly into place at Wigan.
At one time you couldn’t get DW off the tele singing the praises of firstly Jewell the RM. I haven’t heard him once praise Coyle since the Barnsley game that’s because there’s nothing to sing about.
Let’s not forget, he holds the purse strings so I hope he comes to his senses and realizes he’s a dropped a bullox hiring this Muppet.Isn’t it funny how different people perceive things ! Brighton for me were far the better side today and bossed it for long periods, they deserved their win.The big centre half ( No.38 ) was in total control throughout his time on the pitch, a comment that would apply to their right back ( No.2 ). We gave the ball away far too cheaply and the control of Fortune was just laughable !
Brighton did enjoy lots of possession, but only in the middle third. They had jack shyte quality up front.
We have “jack shyte” up front but the difference is
Brighton scored, something we can’t do in the League.
Were like a broken up jigsaw without the picture. I can’t believe the total transformation this dick Coyle has done to our club in such a short period of time.
Let’s take Swansea since Martinez left, they always tried to maintain the same style of football regardless of who’s in charge but us ?? !! ffs, He’s re-wrote the book on how to look shyte in under 6 month!!.
For me , it’s not the players , sack the turd and let’s move on.nout wrong with the squad as a whole ,just get rid of that dick of a manager, totally useless and clueless. I just hope DW was watching that pile of kak today. I would get rid of Coyle before he comes cap in hand in the January.
I have been asked by a friend, who is contemplating taking his wife and two kids on the coach ( he can’t afford the plane) will the NO ALCOHOL rule be strictly adhered to? and will it be a Family type coach like the Travel Club coaches to away games? as he doesn’t want to spend 24 hours on a coach with people drinking, and effing and blinding all the time?As the proud dad of 3 if I was given the choice between spending 48 hrs cooped up on a bus with a pished up tick’s fan or a crying, screaming, smelly farting, spewing up, moaning hard faced kid , I’d have the lashed up blue anyday of the week !!.
I think Moyes would be slated if they were to let Powell go to Everton especially after the way Utd conducted themselves in the summer transfer window.
Why don’t we use some of our McCarthy stash and try to buy the lad ? , Baines will be at Utd regardless of Powell.
The bookies make us odds on at 10/11 for today , hardly value for a team that haven’t scored away since the 3rd of Aug let alone win away . back us at your peril.
Kazan looked a superior side to me, but Wigan played bravely to match them. However, it is expecting a lot of Wigan to come back from Kazan with a point or more.
Do you think so ? I thought Kazan were pretty average considering the history of Champions League Football and the big reputation they came with.
Their league form reads 3 wins from 15 which aint setting the world alight in a poor league bar 3 teams, their there for the taking. They’ll be tackin it more than us, It’s a home game they won’t want to lose cause if we win and Maribor win its game on for all 3 teams. , , 13/2 for a 3 horse race tonight ? I’m in.
Surely its Paul Gascoign, John McGinlay is Scottish.PS I have a tattoo on my back of the entire Goole Town football squad from 1974.
no you’ve not
