I hate them for their arrogance and way they spoke of us in the 80’s. Everytime they made it to the M62 cup final, interviews on the BBC always takign the opportunity to say we dont exist or just put us down.

Besides that they are fat and break seats at the JJB

Neither of them are sports, simple as. A sport is an activity where you can affect the outcome of your oponents game, neither golf or fishing are, so hence they are pastimes or games.

    hahaha

“Callejon is not an out and out goalscorer and has scored only two goals so far this season. However, he is widely recognised for his overall contribution, including his ability to set up goals and bring others into the game”

We are now opening the pre-registration criticisms from the unhappy clappers of the forum.. still he will be a step up from Scotland

Sorry for being lazy with this, but does anyone know how much a season ticket compares to the price of match day tickets with all the offers. Bet it isnt much different.

With all the money in the game, I would rather the players got it as they provide the entertainment, if you cap at £25k a week then the chairmen will make all the money and drain it out of the clubs. Dont think that the fans would benefit as they wouldnt, they never did in the 60’s and 70’s.

Salary caps will only work if it is EU wide, which they cant do because of free trade. Even the transfer window could be banned if challenged under EU law, restriction of trade.

Maybe the premiership should look at their own fit and proper rules for ownership first, Portsmouth didnt exactly look solid when bought over 3 times this season !

Fishing isnt a sport a pastime. Golf is a game.

So in fact neither can be the best sport !

    in reply to: Wigan…the town….(Quite frankly,Embarrassing!) #27553

Fair point that the town has changed in all these years and we should look to the future and see what can be done to change the image of the town. The Tories started a decline which Labour never changed enough. Both sides will blame the others, that is the way politics works as you say. Maybe a party should be honest and that might reignite voters again ! Considering Wigan is their safest seats I would have thought they would have made the effort.

The unjust war was unjust weather you are Tory, labour. At least the lib dems said that at the time, but Labour made that choice to go to war on false reasoning, as Rafa would say, that is a fact.

As for the banks, Labour have had enough time to bring in regulations to stop what was going on, a lot of evidence is around that they knew this could and probably would happen. Bailing out the banks was the right thing to do, but they failed to take real control of them when they did it. The real point is again that it happened on Labours watch, if they claim they couldn’t have stopped it then they have no justification for being in government. Again I don’t try to attack the Labour with the Tories would have done better, my argument is that labour failed.

Politics is a funny old game, especially in Wigan. I stand by what I have said about Labours time in office and the poor record which we will all have to pay for. My point is, don’t vote them back in. Viva la revolution !

I can only apologise, I purposefully brought the subject up again to focus people away from the chance we now have of staying up, couldn’t risk people starting to praise Martinez

    in reply to: Portsmouth #27545

I’m sure we should have left a few players until the next season before playing them, que Scotland and Gomez jokes.

As I understand it, Pompy are allowed to sell players but not bring them in.

    in reply to: Wigan…the town….(Quite frankly,Embarrassing!) #27498

Tyldesley, I think the point is the current state of the town and Labours lack of effort inthe 13 years in power to make it a better place to live. Labour supporters cannot blame the toried for it as they have had time to turn it around, they shouldnt also delude themselves that defence of labours record can be justified by saying, well look at the tories. Abject failure of this labour government to deliver on promises, the unjust war, the £132b of debt in the last 12 months, and a legacy for the next 20 years in paying off the bailout of the banks.

Steps down from the soap box !

Last I heard, Daniel DeRidder and his fellow pirates stole the chest and headed off to the middle east. !

in reply to: Mario and Scharner #27483

Scharner is one of those players who tries but never seems to get it right. A bit above himself, and always reminds you of the lad a school who always thought he was better than the rest.

As long as we replace him with quality then let him go and reduce the wage bill.

Mario, been a good servant to the club and no doubt was able to draw other players here, but looking too old now and although he has class, again need to replace with quality.

Whats a day between friends !

in reply to: More tv money! #27419

We should put that in the warchest for a rainy day !

in reply to: What was chucked at Kirkland by the Burnley fans?? #27336

I think it was the moment of harsh realisation by one of their fans that we have moved to the decimal system, his 6pence is not legal tender !
