Considering your comments colbob4, dont you think we are doing well to be ahead of the relegation fight, imagine what a little more patience and time and a couple of new heads will do to the team. If we were so bad we would be struggling at the foot of the table.

As for this whole Brown is the messiah lark, I would rather have Gordon Brown in midfield, he was over the hill a couple of seasons ago, the majority on this board were slagging him off week after week. yet when he goes it gave you a perfect reason to complain…..

Orange Viscounts or Mint that is the question !

Captain…… Birdseye is the player we need to sign, he will help improve the diet of the club and bring in an excellent youth policy.

From where I could see Martinez was showing passion during the game, talking to the players constantly (whether they were listening is another thing) when they made simple mistake he was talking and encouraging.

Of course our problem is lack of depth and no real competition. But that will be solved in January (We hope).

I think he would like the fans to come back !

I applaud your attempts to highlight players who might come, but I would expect Martinez to unearth players from Spain or south america.

Hutton is awful and we cant afford his spurs wages, Dawson would never drop to Wigans level. McGeady is up his own ars* and I wouldnt leave Celtic for Wigan.

The problem isnt as much the atticking midfielder/striker, its the last of depth in midfield and the back four we should be concerned about.

My prediction, Figgy wont leave, we will sign a new defender a striker and another holding midfielder in January, with one or two fringe players going. We will sign one from spain and two from south america.

I understand he was sacked for only putting 4 past us….

Thankfully its looking like Bent will be injured for the weekend.

I suspect he will make few changes for the game on Saturday, do we have anyone to replace Edman?

You just need to ask yourself, is the current management team / chairman that bad that you want to get rid? Will it be more beneficial to the club to support them or to criticise. Will you bother to support the team on Saturday or point out their failings.

    Your choice !

And you really think by changing our manager now will help? How? More new players we cant afford to sign, selling off tallent who want to leave cause the manager has gone, end up with a clueless club and no fan base. Excellent choice. How do you envisage taking the club forward? What throw more money at it and get in Sir Alex? Am sure he would love to come to manage a club of so called fans.

Time will tell on Martinez, who is a Wigan man through and through. But you have to give him time.

Some people take pride in being able to be negative about Wigan, we all guess that some day we will get relegated, however if you come out at every manager change and player purchase and say this will send us down, then one day they will get it right.

If people choose to be so negative then so be it. But that is a sad way to always look at things.

in reply to: He is going to get sacked right? #13557

Yes but it has been a choice, do we continue to get bored with tight performances and keep the other team out, or do you try to change and play more attractive and open football. We are taking a risk but one worth taking if you ask me. If it doesnt work most of the complainers will have their way and back int he championship.
