Im not anti whelan i think that when the day comes for him to walk away he should be held aloft on the fans arms as no-one else would have dared take us to the prem and i dare say no-one else would be able to do it again the way we did.

However i stand by that i think its time for him to go, nothing to do with the debt or the club more to do with if he passes away we could find ourselves as a club torn apart to stay afloat or used by his family in the wrong way as they will not want to throw money at something they are not passionate about.

Because of this i think we should look for a new buyer now or set up a trust now so that the club can learn whilst daves still around. None of us are getting any younger.

Why the sudden lack of local talent?

Who wrote “Kenyon out Whelan in” behind the supporters club?

I believe that was a Mr S Gage prior to buying the club! It may just be conjecture though!

Yeah but Standish from what i understand the jack walker trust was set up on the condition that the club made a small profit not taking money from the fund every year hence why they never make big money signings. Have no star players in terms of wages and contracts and sell their top players without replacing them year after year.

From people that ive just spoke to regarding them being for sale their understanding is that the people in charge of the trust have made bad financial desicions over the past year which has affected the funds available.

Not the football clubs fault but the people running it and the financial climate at the moment.

I said at the time and il say it now the only reason that lindsay was brought in was so that if anything happened to Whelan someone could step straight in and take over the reigns.

Then if you tally up the dates of him thinking he was ill and Lindsay coming in it makes more sense.

Im sure somewere theres a little piece of paper that says “If im ever declared unfit of mind, or unable to carry out my duties. Or when i pass awaythe club will be passed to Maurice Lindsay as executor with the sole intention of running it until either a. a buyer can be found or b. probate has been completed.Signed Mr D Whelan”

Duncan Sharpe was always the plan to take over however things made that impossible and with no other heir interested in football im beginning to come around to the idea that nows the time to either set up a trust or find a new buyer before he passes away and his family kill what he achieved with our club.

That articles very interesting. I was shocked by the comment that the jack walker trust wouldnt be putting anymore money in and continues to seek a new buyer. You see i was always under the impression the trust was set up primarily for the football club and the whole ideal around it was the club had to make a small profit every season hence every year the club selling a star player. I was also under the impression that a similar think was going to be set up for Wigan Athletic.

I agree with the west ham players comment and i think saturday could be a great game between 2 footballing sides i just dont think that we are not good enough!

I think we may have lost a bit of strength in the team but we are definatly stronger outside the first 11 than we were!

I just cant help but feel that going forward yeah we are pacy but weve got no power or strength and can be knocked off the ball too easy! Id kill for a Carlton Cole to be leading the line!

Ive seen every game so far apart from Blackpool which to me was a reserve fixture. Now at Villa we looked World beaters but we still gave them a few chances. Against St Mirren so so but it was a warm up game. Wolves game was terrible and it knocked us for 6 but i honestly think if we hadnt played these so early it would be a different matter, they knew how to play us and had played bobbys side twice last year. Man utd we looked ok for 59 minutes and it was only when the second goal went in i think we lost our heads and started to look weak. In my opinion we looked decent against everton, yeah it was a struggle but we played against 12 men 11 of whom are considered in the top7 teams in the league and were desperate for a win and still held our own.

For me the problem is a few things:
                            1. We never had a proper pre season. Things were not booked and the manager being brought in took longer than expected.
                            2. Bruce, he knew he was leaving in febuary/march time you could see it in his actions. He then whether knowingly or not didnt make plans for this year. For instance he never made bookings for preseason meaning we struggled to find games, he did his old trick of releasing players without having plans in place to replace them, and he had taken team morale to a low.
                            3. Bobby took time coming in then insisted bringing in his scouts that had been scouting for a mid table championship team and had players in mind for that.
                            4. Whelan let Bruce take everyone behind the scenes.
                            5. We let Catts go at the wrong time making it look like every player had a price making the squad nervous.
                            6. Rumours are abound in the football world that we are skint and its because the banks have withdrawn/lowered our loan faciltys thats why we are reducing the debt.
                            7. The players weve signed speak a variety of languages causing tension in the dressing room and cliques till everyone learns english ( should we make the english players learn spanish?)
                            8. On the pitch because of the changes every week we havent had a chance to learn how to play together.
                            9. Some players still keep trying the old hoof ball even though the team isnt set up for that.
                            10. We havent replaced like for like and the players weve brought in will need time to bed in or are poor.
                            11. We are not physically big enough as a side or fast enough.

However this will change and im sure from the next match we will look stronger.

                              True.

After getting promoted to the prem many people would of been happy with just going down respectably however year after year weve defied the odds and attracted plaudits (mainly overseas).

Now its time as a team and crowd to push on and get the points to stay up again and annoy the prem!
