You do have some very valid opinions but like the Bnp your too blinded to listen to the other side of the argument or be swayed in your views.

Personally i dont think the squads too bad overall just weak in some areas.
However i think that time has clouded opinions of that first prem year team.
Id take Kirkland just before Filan and a 2005 Pollitt before a 2009 Pollitt however id take Kingson before Walsh everytime.
Chimbonda was unknown player when he came and at 500k none of us expected what happened so id put him and melchiot equal.
In the centre bar arry and stephanie the growler did great but id have bramble before Henchoz and Boyce before Jacko as he was getting too old and slow for rb and cb. Scharner this year hasnt been great however we all know how good he was last year!
Lb would be a killer Baines is class but at the time people were still caling for mcmillan to get games. Figgy would get in before Sicknote although edman and mcmillan could share the treatment table (edmans through bad luck)
Defensive Midfielder id take Thomas over Kav every time and id take Diame over Francis because even though they havent got much experience you can see that they are going to be the next 2 we sell to balance the books.
Right Wing zoggy would beat Teale everytime but hes not a rw so id have to say teale would beat de ridder.
In the centre Bullard would be first choice but lets not forget he ran all day but was annoying most of that season. Gomez wouldnt even get a look in but he may improve with time.

Weve spent 7.9mil we got 6mil from sunderland and no one knows what we got upfront from utd for valencia but theres strong rumours they only paid less than 3.5mil with the rest on installments cos they couldnt get the money!
Maybe we havent got the money, maybe problems at the club which will be announced over the week have caused us problems, maybe whelan doesnt want to put his money in!
At the end of the day we should have a strong enough squad by now!

Ive looked at financial plans for a european superleague and believe me it would never work.
As daft as it sounds sky needs the other clubs in the league to make it financially viable and they also need promotion and relegation to give it a edge.
For instance if 10million people subscribed to Sky Sports 3.5 mil might be top 4 fans but the other 6.5mil would be fans of spurs, wigan etc. PLus maybe 1mil of those would be fans of lower teams that may get promoted.
I know its not exact its just a example.
Add to this then that crowds would drop with less away fans travelling and clubs on the continent dont get great following for league games.
The clubs also need a strong domestic league to rape and pillage for players.
All the plans say its a no go and that it would be popular for the first 2-3 years but would then die down. Similar to the Champions League.Theyd be better scrapping that and playing weds superleague games!
Sorry Martin but ive got to disagree with you there? It may be a minor factor but i do think its complete lack of marketing and money thats costing the club at the moment.
In fact il put marketing before the lack of money.
Ive got a season ticket and didnt know what time the game today kicked off. Yeah i could find it but if i was a thugby fan itd be looking down at me from all over town!
