Agree JPC first team players scoring a pond full of goals giving them confidence .A good win and team performance again a win going into the next game confidence. No need for an extra game(replay).
No brainer .But I’m no manager also just my opinion. :S

All good and well saying that but we could of put the same team out that played v united and come up with the same result.

Probably the same people who have been calling for Martinez’s head now would be doing so on the basis he didnt freshen the team up.

Was it Jewell who said fans are great at picking teams after the match?
You shouldn’t be pulling other posters up on their grammar really should you ? ;) In the immortal words of Peter Kay, “Of it” !

I will be in Austin Texas at a psychedelic music festival otherwise I would have gone ! Teabaghead will no doubt be on here after Spurs games saying that I was absent !

This is the one I presume?

That is the one ! Very much an underground scene but there are a couple of sort of known bands on this year ! Lets hope I miss us doing the double over Spurs !

The reason I put fickle fans has been proven on these boards over the last few years the same ones crying and throwing there toys out of the pram at any given opportunity and those same fans are proven wrong over those years as I said Filmoss was the only one to reply to the post that is up to him but over thirty five years of watching this club on the terraces and the stands long term supporters will know there are fickle fans from the entrance to the football league until now ,well maybe a lot more now

Every club has fickle fans ! My frustrations come from not seeing any progression when I know full well that they are capable of putting in a shift ( Magical run in ! ) Boyce in an interview a while back mentioned that we cannot rely on the proverbial get out of jail free card and that we must start to find results and get some points on the board, this has not happened since said interview and is a little concerning !

I see Everton didn’t take any such chances by fielding an inexperienced side despite their squad being as threadbare as ours ! Job done and relax !

Looks like I’m going to have to keep posting this quote until it gets through:

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez defended his team selection for their 1-1 FA Cup draw against Bournemouth.

Martinez made nine changes at the DW Stadium and could only salvage a 1-1 draw after going behind to the League One outfit.

The Spaniard said: “I do show the FA Cup respect.

“There are youngsters here I feel have a bright future, but we will never accelerate their development unless we play them in these competitions.

“That is what we have to do at this club.

“I don’t just want to win games in the short term.

“The first team has to be part of a learning process. Fighting relegation is not an environment for youngsters to show what they can do.”
To be fair Griff, you did say when asked by me that you do not condone this policy in the FA Cup !

Different priorities Phil. We want to test players out while they’re going to have a go at trying to win it.

                    Managers’ choices.
Moyes did say that his priorities were to try and maintain a top 4 or 5 place in the league ! I just think that we could have progressed easily enough with a stronger side and then not had the hassle of a long trip to Bournemouth !

Jeff Wright was the original Jordi Gomez.

He certainly was. I can hear the groans as if it was yesterday. Oh, actually there was the same groans yesterday.
Yes nothing much changes from those days to today most fickle Wigan fans would much sooner see a headless chicken type footballer than technical type player
Do you mean like DiSanto ! Another feeble attempt at winding people up ! Sigh !!
Doesn’t that kind of prove Thirty5’s point? Di Santo doesn’t get the stick from fans like Gomez does because he runs around a lot.
Nice bail out ! He was trying to get a reaction by mentioning fickle fans. My mention of Di Santo being of the headless chickenesque variety of player was in no way comparing to someone from 30 odd years ago ! I think he likes the lightside/ darkside divide and besides, Di Santo has come in for more stick on here recently than Gomez !

It’s ok constantly referring to how Wigan played in last seasons run in but that was an enigma and has in no way whatsoever been replicated since, why is this ? It is a mystery to me ! This season has been poor on the whole and there is very little evidence performance wise to counter my observation ! Something is not right and I just think that some of the excuses are feeble. Opinion mind !!

Again I mention fickle fans and you pop up to give a absurd opinion about a player who played for the club 35 years ago and you compare him with Franco
Filmoss you weren’t at the game so you don’t know what your talking about in all fairness and it grinds my gears that you want to be in the thick of the discussions on here gloating to people who did bother.

Why if you are so uninterested as to not watch a game would you suddenly have so many opinions on it and what went wrong?

Saying that when you have been to the games you don’t seem to know what your talking about half the time either…

Comments that further back up Yosser’s opinion of you ! I will however fill you in on the point that I was trying to make that you clearly missed. I was trying to say that it sounded like the same old same old tactics were being dished up and it is those very same tactics that irk so many people week in week out ! If the first 11 cant really pull off those sort of tactics then I am pretty sure that the fringe players cant ! Don’t forget my Manchester friend, that this is a forum and all views and opinions are welcome !
Yeah cheers for that mate.

Fair comment about the tactics but I think mine was a fair question about why if you have no interest in watching a game do you have such an interest in debating about the outcome of it.

One I see you swiftly swerved my window cleaning friend.

And if I am “mancunian” then so are you but you have more pressing matters than a geography lesson at hand.
Your attempts to wind me up are futile, give up ! I had no interest in spending any money on going to watch the game but was interested enough to check out the commentary from time to time ! Does that answer your question my Manchester Utd neighbouring friend !
I am not trying to wind you up, I prefer the hard to get type and you’re as easy as breathing ;)

Spending your money?!?!?! a tenner out of the so called mint you earn out of wiping peoples windows for them?

Are you still angry at Martinez because his team put 3 past Villa? ( the team you used to support :silly: )

A fair answer to my question would have been “because I like stoking up arguments on here” of which I have seen you increasingly guilty of recently.

                              Sadden.
Tenner, diesel and sundries adds up to more like £20. As for Villa, they were my team as a school lad and I only saw them once back then. Do you think all Wigan fans have followed Wigan since the year dot ? Where do you think the other 8000 or so Wigan regulars where yesterday ? Those that bothered are the minority here so wake up and smell the coffee and stop this blind faith idiocy. Cup football under Martinez is always going to be a dull affair and worse than the first team stuff which I hasten to add aint been that good thus far this season bar a couple of games !
What blind faith idiocy??

I came on today and made a comment of which players I thought did okay and which I thought didn’t.

The result is I get accused of having blind faith from you and being unable to have a reasoned view and wearing blue tinted specs off Yosser  ?!?!??!

If you want to throw your hat in with that mong then good luck to you but its like water off a ducks back to me as you are as fickle as they come hippy boy and Yosser I am led to believe doesn’t even go to games anymore.
He’ll be calling you a troll next after showing him up again
I wont because he has his own views and is capable of debate unlike you ! If you think I have been shown up then you are sadder than I initially thought ! As for the blind faith comment Sally, I was referring to your positive spin on Martinez, you never seem to see his faults and that to me is blind faith !
I used to think you were alright Phillip but if you think I wear rose tinted glasses because I don’t call for martinezs head every time we lose that says more about you than it does me fella.

I’m off to bed but on a final note I am going to reiterate the fact I come on to point out imo who let us down and who didn’t.

That is a reasoned view on the subject which people are more than welcome to debate providing they are not just echoing someone elses opinion they heard on the radio which is as laughable as yosser Hughes wide boy antics (if you are reading this yosser I bet you are soft as sh*t :silly:)
Fair comment but I have never asked for the managers head ! ( No fellatio jokes please ! ) As for my rose tinted glasses or blind faith comment, it’s just that I have never heard you say a game was shit or we were rubbish when we have underachieved. You seem to always have a positive spin on things when they appear to be awry ! Sleep well my Greater Manchester friend ! ;)
