We did win at Ewood in 1973 in an FA Tropy 2nd replay. It was before my time but I have the prog (I’m going, I’ll get my anorak). Bet a few on this site were there.
Graham Oates winner. I remember the coach being as dull as xxxx. We’d just got to our first Wembley final. Who’da thought, 40 years on…
What an idiot, Ewood was the Morecambe game!

Anybody else thinking what I am thinking?
That would be a very rare occurrence
Who is going to sack him, the invisible board. We are in the shite big time both on and off the field. It seems as though nobody but us fans actually give a toss. FFS Royle say summat.
Yeah, we’re shite. He needs sacking after today and it needs some bold leadership from the Chairman and board. Not silence.
I’m swerving the Bolton game. Seeing them come and beat us with determined desire and fight, itll be far too much. I can’t stomach the thought of witnessing that. No thanks.
Thanks for your wonderful support. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. So go and get stuffed!
Rumour has it that Powell and MacManaman were left out the squad due to a fall out with Cook,
Of things to come
Must be reet then
I suppose you know more ? guess not , trot on
Ok, I’ll give it a go. Rumour has it… that Worriers have flexed their muscle (fat) and demanded that Powell and McManaman have to play for th’egg chasers and they won’t allow ‘um to play fot ‘tics.

No idea Goole. Thankfully it didn’t happen. Not in the thankfully category for me. But then I’m bitter and twisted, or so I’m told!
The egg has already been spray painted blue once.
Rugby fans always forget that without Whelan the club would either not exist or be playing in Horwich. Its the same with the stadium, no matter how much evidence you provide they still believe their own deluded view.
I hope this doesn’t start any retaliation but I fear it will. Shame really as we have two clubs we should be really proud of.
Would they have gone to ‘Horwich’? Was it an assumption, on behalf of the greatest club side in the world, that a wendyball club playing ‘run of the mill’ Premier League games would welcome them with open arms? I don’t recall Bolton giving a response.
Well they’d have had to go somewhere
Would they? If big Dave hadn’t offered the JJB and Bolton told then to do one then where would ‘somewhere’ have been? St. Pat’s?

Neil Warnock
100% and his interview after the FA cup game showed him up as the knob he is
I actually like him, always have, and he has handled himself well with the tragedy of the last few weeks. Handled it with dignity, and the fact he has travelled to Argentina for the funeral today, deserves respect.
He is actually a really really nice guy if you talk to him (as I have). Friendly, articulate, yes charming.
Until the whistle blows and then he completely changes character.
But underneath he is a nice guy.
He is the best manager we have never had
Does he play two up front?
Being in the second tier of the football league pyramid are bad times?
I can smell piss. Is it me?
Eh, leave him alone…!
Us pensioners have to stick together.
Because they’ve moved the goalpost, I’ve got two years to wait!
Never really understood what makes Sunderland a big club. Is it the big stadium that is usually half empty? Is it the fact that they get about 10% of their population watching them? It certainly isn’t their honours list is it?
Does that mean Liverpool (Population 897,000, but only 7% attend a game, last league title 1990, last FA Cup win 2006 and last league cup win 2012) are a smaller club than the Latics. Are Spurs not a big club because they cant fill Wembley every week?
In fact, by your theory, every club bar Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal & Leicester are smaller than Wigan, because they’ve won jack shit since 2013.
If you disagree, please define your criteria for a “big club”.
Liverpool aren’t a big club. I had a this discussion with a St Helens based Liverpool fan a couple of years ago, let’s call him SG (Scouse Git). When I mentioned I was a Latics fan he used the term ‘Tiny Club’. I challenged him with what his criteria is used for a ‘Big Club’. He had a daft smirk on his face and didn’t reply, so I asked again.
SG: “It’s about gates innit?”
GA: “Is it, how big?”
SG: “40 – 50,000.”
GA: “So that’s United, City, Arsenal and Spurs?” The smirk reappeared.
SG: “No, 50,000.”
GA: “Are Newcastle a big club, they get 50,000 on?”
SG: “No, Newcastle are not a big club. Anyway it’s about winning trophies, European Cups.”
GA: “Are Forest a big club? They won the European Cup, twice.”
SG: “No, Forest aren’t a big club. It’s about winning league titles.”
GA: “Like the Premier League?”
He was just about to say yes when the penny dropped.
I’m well aware of that, but our fans seem to take it to an extreme at times...’some’ of our fans…
And Ian Purdie in a pear tree…and Don Partridge in a Pear Tree’
Two David Thompsons too.
