Hindley Blue – I could not agree more. The most sensible post I have read on this site.

Despite the fact that no-one has any way of knowing if it is true or not.

What did someone once say about opinions and arseholes?

My 10 year old said.
‘Blackpool are right, our supporters are whale. They never sing, all they do is moan. I wish they would go and support Rugby!’

He made more sense than anyone there last night.

I hope you gave him a clip round the ear for swearing :geek:

“Roberto is coming across as being too nice, too soft. The softly-softly approach won’t work with the ‘big time chalies’ we’ve got.”

Now THAT, I do agree with

Continuing with the boxing analogy….We are like Frank Bruno. High hopes and once tried at the highest level, several defeats before he finally realized he wasn’t actually good enough !

That’s the spirit, a bit of optimism!

Reet, I am off to bed now.

9 attempts each on goal so far of which Blackpool have converted a third of ! We have come out fighting from what I can gather but gate, horse, bolted etc etc !

i only know what paul merson on sky says and i am afraid he doesnt think we have come out fighting,he actually said”if i was martinez i would be worried because they are poor” or “they have had plenty of the ball this half but done nothing with it”

on his last point that is the story of the season so far,to slow with to many ordinary signings.
A) don’t listen to Paul Merson, he’s a lush, you know

B) you lost patience after St Mirren??? You know those games are only marginally less important than a league cup game?

in reply to: Hmmm…who to blame? #6873

“Get down to the book signing if you can and hurl some abuse at Whelan, as its the only way he’s going to hear the truth”

Aaaaaaggghhh, and you were doing so well!!!

in reply to: Sole Premiership failures #6870

Don’t panic yet

i think that’s a tad to late for some lot on here

Aye, well it is almost the end of August.
Next 5 days will be interesting, with the transfer window.
Don’t hold your breath, I think Bobby has everyone he was after – worryingly.

“Martinez clearly has his hands tied. That’s obvious, I think, with his comments on Sky about “Not having funds to spend”. I think this confirms what a lot of us feared”

He said that? When, tonight?

stop picking on folks spelling smartarse were not all collage boys on here

Good, otherwise we would have to put you all up against the wall.

Think about it – or ask your teacher

in reply to: Sole Premiership failures #6861

you really think he comes on here, and hes not creaming the club take a look at the transfers ins and out that would be a start,

Do I think who comes on here, Whelan? Of course he does. Who do you think Dave From Skem is? :)

If Whelan didn’t buy these players and pay their wages and run the club, where do you think the money comes from.

Of course he’s running it as a business, but that’s as much for our good as his. Hopefully, he dies with the club owing his surviving family no money and we still have a viable football club. That’s the aim, I think. And in the meantime, we’ve had a good few years punching above our weight in the top flight.

Again I say – Leeds anyone?
Punching above our weight we may be Griff.

However you can only do that for so long, before you get found out.

This season, we are basically Ricky Hatton.
To continue your boxing analogy we are only a few rounds in.

And we don’t support Citeh or drink too much guinness, so let’s not panic just yet.

in reply to: And people wondered earlier…….. #6858
why exactly, I wasn’t going tonight.

And there we have it. I could see it coming.

The atmosphere in the squad reminds me of the days before Jewell arrived. Too many happy to pick their wages up, without putting the effort in.
Doesn’t seem to be any ‘togetherness’, I mean like the team we had in the first Premiership season. No heart, and certainly no bol*ocks to the team.
But then again, you get rid of players like Roberts, Bullard, Cattermole, Palacios, etc, even Kilbane, who was a 100%er with a heart, and what do you expect?

Shocking, shocking squad we have got.

It’s not a shocking squad, that’s way too harsh. They may have no respect for Martinez at the moment and to be fair, he has to earn that.

Might well be a tough season, but we’ll do OK

in reply to: im sorry to say this… #6856
the points been raised before on this board, jones and barrow ? both great players for this club imo but at a different level to premiership football. eric black there not! defence was are strongest point last season its all gon tits up so far, are they capable! and more importantly have they and roberto got the respect of the players having all never played in the top division. :?:

Good question. I do not doubt Martinez’s ability and potential for a moment but there is no doubt that Bruce had a good back-room staff.

Maybe we all have to grow and learn together.

Oooh, get me! – feel the love :D

in reply to: Embarrased #6852
Wouldnt even buy his book, i know the end now i love myself i really do love myself

Good call, there’s only a few pictures, none you can colour in, and some words with more than 4 letters ;)
