We lost control of that game when he went off
Absolutely spot on.
Those of you who thought that Espinoza was “the answer” probably realise why the rest of us didn’t know what the question was.
To be fair to Espinoza, as someone else has pointed out, he isn’t a like for like swap with McArthur – its a bit like taking a centre forward off & putting McArthur in his place. It also seemed to me that Espinoza was pushed out to the left & Maloney went more central after McArthur went off
I don’t think Espinoza did anything wrong when he came on – its just that he can’t do what McArthur can do (& vice versa) & there was a shuffle round of personnel. Combined with QPR’s change in shape it took the game away from us
That was basically my point, and I wasn’t just talking about last night.
Don’t agree with the vice versa bit, though – I’m quite sure that McArthur can charge around like a lunatic and miscontrol and give away the ball a lot, he just chooses not to do it as often as Espinoza does ;)
We were OK for the first 35 minutes or so.Then Harry stuck Doyle upfront with Austin and it all went downhill from there.
If McLean had managed to stick a second in though it would have been game over.
Then up steps Calamity Caldwell and it was game over really !!!
Barnett was poor for their second goal.
Still that saves me around £300.00 so it’s not all bad !! ;)
Perfect summary that, IMO
Too many players below par tonight maloney macca espinoza barnettEspinoza wasn’t below par. He was as shite as he always is
My, my, my… apart from Arky being on it, and JR not, here we have a thread containing all the no-mark gobshites I really couldn’t give a flyer about.
If only there was such a thing as virtual ricin or anthrax, we could get rid of the lot of you in one fell swoop.
Couldn’t build any pressure or keep the ball because we don’t have a centre forward worthy of the name at the club.
The fact that our leading scorers have 7 apiece tells you everything. To be honest it’s testament to how hard the defence and midfield have had to work to get us into this position in the first place.McLean, big heart, aggressive, a game runner, pity he’s not a footballer
Its been yonks since We had a decent striker what can hit onion bag.
I don’t know, what can hit onion bag?

Caldwell isn’t good enough. In the Prem apart from those last seven games the season we stayed up he wasn’t good enough. He’s been out all season comes back and missed a penalty at Wembley setting the tone for the shoot out. Plays well and then lunges in giving away a penalty. You may disagree but he’s a liability and I’d rather see him punch the floor somewhere elseCaldwell didn’t put a foot wrong until the penalty but, as Tyldesley says, people can’t wait to pick on an easy scapegoat.
I bet you used to think Gomez was shit but now you think he’s a world beater
Now I’m not being funny…You’re not wrong there
Gary and Steven Caldwell
Not quite got the point have you?
Why, it works? Brothers and namesakes. Not sure about footballers, but brothers and namesakes, definitely!
Ali and Al Habsi
Love Spanish ommlettes and naked Spanish women.
I suspect they wouldn’t reckon too much of you, though.
Not much changes in a week or so away from here. You’re still talking shite and floundering every time someone tries to put a reasoned argument to you.
Hen-pecked husbands and naked Spanish women? Really?
Yes its been an expensive season…..but £20 for a home game and people are moaning. Isn’t this what we as fans should want, all these games and excitement following the lads. Get your backsides down there next week and cheer us on to glory.“Wiganers in not knowing when they’re on to a good thing shock”
Or “Wiganers wanting sommmert for nowt” shock – again! Beggars belief, really
At risk of being accused of being contrary for its sake…I think that Powell is a cracker and potentially a real star if he puts more effort into it. His control, ease on the ball and pace plus positional sense prove his talent. The “johnny big bollocks” mentality is something thats in his make up and to remove it could well lessen him. Some of the best ever had that strutting confidence…even before they made it at highest level…think cantona for example…its in thier make up…showmen if you like.
the world would be drab place without them.
Anyway I say more of the strutting but a little more effort as well would go down a treat.
And dont anybody tell me that we wouldnt have had Zaki in his pomp back in a split second, awkward as he was he was a good un.
I love arrogance in a player. But they’re usually brilliant players at the same time. He MIGHT become a very good player. he’s showing signs of it but nowhere near enough in my opinion to justify strutting around like he does.
Quote …He said: “My period at Wigan wasn’t just four years as a manager. It’s been ten years, one way or another. Ten years with a football club is a big part of your career and your life. I just felt that it was the right time, after four very special years, to move on”.
Is it 4 or 10 ? Bob can’t quite decide going off that ! ha ha :cheer:
I know exactly what he was saying. How’s your Spanish?
Not too good but I am pretty confident that if I had been living there for the last 20 years I would be pretty fluent! ;)
You evidently can’t even read your own native language, so I wouldn’t hold out too much hope
Go on then, explain? ;)
Oh go on then, I’lldo my bit to help the intellectually challenged today.
He spent ten years with Wigan, the last 4 of which were special. I can’t see hwo you have a problem understanding that, though the word “special” in there might go some way to explaining it. ;)
The Manchester City version after last seasons cup final was funny, this one is not the slightest bit funny, the Wigan Casino subject just doesn’t work.
Anyway, my main point is – when ddid a miserbale get like you become an expert on all things comedic?
It came about from reading the shite that you write.
 You can have that!
