Haha. Coming from the one that spends every day arguing with and offending every bugger on here. Grow up? Youve spent your life posting 8000 times on here. Tha wants grow up thisel

I can be grown-up when the mood takes me. When I’m in a kindergarten I’ll behave like a child if I choose to.

“Mongs writhing on other men’s groins”?? That’s proper grown-up, that is.

What’s actually big about you Roy, because it certainly isn’t your IQ is it?
It is actually. That and the reason im 6’7″ and 19 stone. Ill put my qualifications next to yours any day of the week chief.
Hee hee, course you are!

No need to compare qualifications. I’m perfectly happy with mine and don’t give a flyer about yours!

I wonder if perhaps one day we can have a thread on here that doesn’t end up in a “my dads bigger than your dad” argument. Wont hold my breath mind

He started it!! ;)

If there was ever a thread that proved that this web site is filled with bitter, sad, lonely balding middle aged men then this is it.

The contradictions from you ‘hardened Latics fans’ are laughable. You take the piss out of the rugby for the exact same things the football does.

Difference…. The Cherry and White board doesn’t do football hate threads because they aren’t jealous of Wigan Athletic like this board is of the Warriors.

The bullshit and exaggerations fatfan has just spouted about the pub confirms that.

I support both of the town’s teams, one more actively than the other.

Both clubs has its fair share of knobheads. Speaking of which, welcome back
Funny that. Everyone bar 3 people on here seem to have that opinion of you. Doesn’t that tell you something? Speaks volumes to me. You have turned this forum into a one man band followed by 3 disciples. Amazing how many you have driven out with your attempted keyboard bullying and un-funny sarcastic remarks at people. Wonder how long Jay will be put up with funding a forum for 4 to 8 people. There are other forums we all use now. You have turned this one into a one man laughing stock.

Your opinion is always right. If not, everyone else are dick heads and know fuck all. Griff’s way or no way. Bet your work colleagues love you. The obnoxious one they all try to avoid. Be nice to you when you are around and call you rotten when you go away.
You know fuck all about me, or my friends or my colleagues, or – clearly – my relationship with Jason, either.

You were my favourite to wind-up on here, actually; you’re obviously not as thick as some, but by far the easiest to aggravate, as proved by the post above.

I would love to see a roll-call of the people who have left this site because of me. I suspect it is a very short list.

Fking hell griff can you get your missus to feel your forehead to see if you have a temperature, I am sure you cant be well !

Sadly, I can’t get her to feel anything, these days. :(

Anyway, new leaf. Sensible conversations with sensible people/posts only from now on.

Knobheads and knobhead comments, will just be ignored. It’ll be tough, but if I can go a whole month without drinking, I can resist the temptation to waste my time with people that really aren’t worth it. :)

in reply to: Owen Coyle #127048

I don’t think that it was a knee jerk appointment atall & I think that Griff is right. he must have interviewed well. really f**kin well – said all the right things & impressed Whelan with his transfer targets (according to one journalist that is where McClaren fell short).

What baffled me though was how someone as astute as Whelan didn’t appear to do any research on Coyle. You could have pulled any Bolton fan off the street & they could have told him the horror stories that were coming from that club for quite some time before they got relegated & up until his sacking. Admittedly most of these would have come from “someone who knows someone who knows someone who fixes the plumbing at their training ground” but with his contacts in the game surely even couple of discreet words with such contacts would have uncovered some facts that would have set alarm bells ringing.
As it happens, to the outsider looking in, it just appeared that Whelan bought hook, line & sinker into Coyle’s “it was the injuries that done me” excuse. It didn’t take long for some of the exact same stories you heard about his Bolton days to start emerging from Latics camp & for my money it could have easily been avoided.
Maybe he did seek people’s opinions & maybe they came back positive (I’ve given good reference to people I couldn’t wait to see the back of in work) or maybe he asked, got bad feedback & thought he knew better. Who knows?

Personally I thought it was a $h!te appointment & nothing I saw gave me any reason to think otherwise. His team selections were baffing, his tactics were garbage & he clearly had no idea how best to utilise the more skillful members of the squad like Maloney & McManaman.

As for his signings – some were good, some were crap & some were average. I thought Holt was a good signing but I wouldn’t have thought that if I’d know the position he was going to use him in
And in fairness Griff I can remember one poster (possibly LMB or filmoss) not being too chuffed with it though. Somet along the lines of whenever they’ve seen him he’d looked too fat, slow & immobile

I didn’t make any comment about Coyle’s appointment although I felt underwhelmed by him being given the job and felt it showed little flair or ambition by the club, at the same time realising I was probably wrong and he was what we needed in the short term, so like most others was prepared to give him the benefit of doubt.

To be honest at first I thought he got things right, he made the right noises, I felt his signings, including Holt, were just what we needed, even in the early games I thought things were good, he seemed to be able to turn games round when they were not going right, once this new team jelled we would do well.

A few games into his tenure a few things became obvious, the senior players who had come down from the premier league were poor and underperforming, we looked jaded and devoid of ideas during games, our thinking and play were much too slow in this new league, some of the long throw in, long ball stuff was just awful, and the problem was it was getting worse every game not better, teams that we should have been steam rolling were out playing us, things were not good.

To his credit Mr. Whelan saw it the same way and acted swiftly to get rid of Coyle.

Now the worrying thing for me, something that will probably bring out the howls of derision often aimed at my views, is I think we have jumped out of the frying pan into the fire.

I feel exactly the same about the appointment of Uwe Rosler, I just don’t get it, his CV has nothing on it that gives cause for great optimism, his team selections and tinkering have been baffling so far and our play has not improved we are still slow and lethargic going forward and we don’t create any goal scoring opportunities.

The most baffling thing for me though is the way he has been accepted by WAFC fans, with most message board pundits telling us how he will get it right and he is the man for the job, is this a backlash from the relief of getting rid of Coyle, who if we are being honest never really stood a chance with many for simply daring to manage Bolton in the past and bringing in a ex Bolton legend as part of his backroom staff or is there more to it than that.
That’s a great post, LMB. I almost agree with you 100%.

I think we only differ in that I was happy with the appointment of Rosler. I thought – though I admit I had little evidence to support it – that he was one of the new breed of managers, hungry and with new ideas whereas I thought that Coyle was a bit of an under-performing journeyman.

I think the signs are already there that he can get this squad playing much better and getting better results than it did under Coyle. However, the constant team changes and the odd worryingly poor performance suggest he is no Martinez just yet! ;)

As with Coyle though, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Very early days yet.

For various reasons. Wigan hockeys supporters dont come on here having a go, Wigan hockey dont have twenty stone mongs writhing in ecstasy in other mens groins on our pitch and in the process wrecking it for months on end. If Wigan Hockey start using our ground then come on here having a go am sure they will get similar treatment!

Grow up, man!

Oh, and Wiganmon – the grown-ups are talking, go and play with your lego or something. What would you know about authors, and reading and writing? The Sun’s cartoon strip doesn’t count.

Having a go at the young’uns again I see. I bet you were fun in the playground.
Tony Gallagher’s not a young ‘un – well, mentally, maybe.

As for all your other rubbish, you’re getting a bit obsessed with me now, aren’t you? See, I have pop at everybody who seems gullible enough to fall for it so don’t flatter yourself that I’m giving you and the Preston yokels preferential treatment. However, you all make it very, very easy.

in reply to: West Ham #126969
If I gets rescinded it sets a confusing precedent whereby making contact with a swinging arm should not be considered dangerous play. Clubs will then appeal every red card for that offence.

That’s probably why it won’t get rescinded!

in reply to: Owen Coyle #126948
Yes all good points but who appointed him and sanctioned the move for a has been like Holt?
The Europa league was a gutter and I agree we could easily have been looking forward to a plum tie this month and we should be in the play positions at least given the squad he had.

Coyle indeed turned out to be a bad appointment but he must have interviewed well and ticked the boxes the chairman was looking for at the time. And at least he acted quickly once he realised it wasn’t working.

As for Holt, I don’t recall hearing one dissenting voice at the time he was signed. There will no doubt be hundreds who will now claim that they always thought he was a bad signing, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Now I must be bored reading all this shit, and I am for now, but not later as I’ll get my rod out.
So, during my trawls , just seen this, and I disagree.

Unlike you eh Griff who knows everything there is to know about every subject under the sun.

So let’s put your claim to test.

Griffo, do you know how to set up a lpaternoster rig when dead baiting for pike on a slow moving river?
No googling allowed my friend.

lpaternoster? Have you spelled that right? As I have said many times before the only angling-related skill I possess is making a decent chicken butty.

in reply to: Pitch Wreckers #126932

It’s widely accepted that the rugby does not damage the pitch any more than football does.

Is there no end to the the things you know nothing about?

Yet again you have failed to read a post properly before wading in. It’s becoming a little habitual and also boring now. And to top it off another insult.
By eck when’s the sabbatical starting? It’s certainly needed.
Pitch Wreckers.

Back on Friday.

Worst pitch in tjhe league.

God help us now.

Just four statements from Einstein’ original post. How is that not an implication that rugby will damage the pitch?

I think you’re nailing yourself to the wrong mast Horc with Donkey’s Page, but carry on if you want to continue looking daft.

Driven posters away? Really? I have that kind of power? In that case, it would be a shame to waste it with a sabbatical so I think I’ll stay. Now, what will it take to make you leave?

As for Donkey’s horticulture claims, all I will say is a number of posters have disagreed sensibly with that view. No point me helping them so I’ll just carry on taking the piss, especially as it seems to upset you lot so much.

Oh, and Wiganmon – the grown-ups are talking, go and play with your lego or something. What would you know about authors, and reading and writing? The Sun’s cartoon strip doesn’t count.
