Get Babis and his mates to gather outside Bob’s house 2 hours before he gets up and to clap him through his breakfast when he does get up, that should do it !!

Nice one Fil but not sure Mrs Martinez would be to impressed when she throws open the curtains ;)

Steve Bruce with Eric Black as his assistant would be my choice

There’s about as much chance of that happening as I have of going to the moon a week next Tuesday.
        Let’s keep it realistic, eh.
well if you had you would have been the first !! I am still laughing at the idea of Jones being our manager !!! Classic !! ha ha ha
Oh sorry filly I forgot you were such good judge of a managers potential.
See Salford this is what I’m talking about a great end to the season and you have him down as a future Jose or Pep. He has a long way to go and a lot to learn before you can talk about him as a great manager and only time will tell if he ever gets there.

Funny how the people who would begrudge him going to Liverpool are the same people who were calling for his head 6 months ago!!!!!!

I know it can be a bit frustrating hearing Whelan talking up players/managers that come good as if to put them in the shop window but surely this is one of our biggest attractions to young talented players that they can follow a similar route as the likes of Valencia without the club digging their heels in.

Look at the likes of Blackburn holding on to an unhappy Samba it didnt get them very far did it!!!

Anyway Dave Whelan is just being realistic maybe some on here should give it a try.

So you honestly believe that Bob has done us a favour this past 3 seasons??? We for the most part have been utter gash and until this amazing end to the season would not have got a job at Liverpool sweeping the car park. He is one of us you and the rest of the Lightside have preached for 3 years so now he can prove it.

If he’s as good as you think he is a couple more successful seasons will raise his stock and he will be able to take his pick of jobs.
Fook me Hindley, you still are one miserable get sometimes!
Sorry Standish after the end of season we’ve just had I’ve been buzzing but Salford with his Bob has done no wrong bull…. is doing my head. For the first time since Bob arrived we look like a football team and not even Bob himself saw it coming. And that’s a fact Salford a statement from the man himself when asked why the turn around, I don’t know he said.
Hinders you tart.

Your doing my nut in with this bob can do no right gig.
Just had a fantastic end to the season and your still miserable.

I have never said Roberto can do no wrong but even with his poor seasons he kept us up so no panic no need to be a drama queen about it is there !?!?

Makes me laugh at the thought you think he should of come in and the team instantly start playing like they did at the back end of last season you sound like a Liverpool fan…
If it’s not you defending him all the time someone has stolen your identity because you will not have a bad word said about the bloke.

Earmarked for closure, another longstanding Wigan business that looks like it is doomed.

I thought Rathbones was owned by Morrisons now??? and I know for a fact they are recruiting as I know someone who got a phone call from an agency regarding work.

I seem to remember a against all odds relegation escape and the 2nd best ever points tally in a EPL season under these two.
I suppose its because the dont wear tanned shoes eh? :)
No, it’s because he nearly bankrupted the club when he was here and is the reason why Martinez has had nothing to spend for three years.

Oh, and he plays the dullest, most neck-wrenching football, in Christendom.
It’s funny how we all watch the same game and yet we all see different things and have differing views. My memory of Bruces team was of Valencia and Palacios and the rest of the team playing some great stuff, yes we did have Heskey up front but we certainly weren’t IMO a kick and rush team.

If he goes it wont be the end of the World ! He had a 3 year plan and he delivered the goods albeit at the last minute but all will not be lost if we can keep the majority of the players that clicked because credit does go to those just as much as it does the manager, if not more !! Lets just say he goes and the new guy takes us higher !

Err, since when was his 3 year plan to narrowly escape relegation every year for 3 years?
Didn’t Bob talk about top 10 finishes and Europe when he first joined?

Certainly not a case of job done – in fact I think the job had only just started.

Despite concern when we first got him and ambivalence about him remaining when we were not performing, I am now concerned that his departure will send us back to square one. No guarantee that a new coach will stick to the same philosophy.

Even if Bob stays there are no guarantees that this recent form will stay with us come August, esp. as the ultra-hyping of our 3-4-3 means that we no longer have the element of surprise.
Well said that man, he still has a big job on his hands at the DW which will prove how good a manager he is. And IMO he does owe Wigan Athletic and Dave Whelan some loyalty as he would have been sacked at any other club.

Bicky, Bicky, Bicky… don’t you think there’s a chance that Whelan is mainly happy to let him talk to them because he’s convinedknows that Bobby’s not going anywhere? Might be wrong, might not.

Phil – he’s already on a plane to Boston? You really need to stop believing all that you read in the press.

As it happens, my personal view is changing in so much as I think now that he might actually go. But that’s only a “might” and it’s by no means certain they’ll offer it to him anyway.

I have to say Griff I tend to agree with you after sacking King Kenny the scousers will be expecting Pep or Jose. I don’t think Bob is anywhere near ready and his appointment would go down like a lead balloon on Merseyside. If he didn’t hit the ground running he would be lucky to still be employed by Christmas.

Can’t believe we are having this debate, the guy is never fit and would not warrant the very large signing on fee and or wages he would demand.

I have to admit I’m watching the rugby today, shouting for Saints though and I noticed the North Stand is not even being used. Surely there must be a problem with the Stand as Wigan Rugby fill the ground every week. And looking round the ground none of the other Stands are full, surely this can’t be because nobody gives a flyer???

I’m watching it to and I have a question. WTF are those scrums all about?

An absolute waste of time, when was the last time a team won a scrum against the head??? they just drop it in the second row.
