I think Whelan’s playing a game of chicken .
I think the Venkys are more qualified at that than Whelan.
whoooooosh!
solid defensive powerful second half against a very fired up forrest, who are a good team. thomas rogne stood out for me during the game very little if any got past him. would like to see garcia play for a while and if he is as good as they say then we have a great back four.
Bob should have stayed and had a go at promotion.
Why, what the f*** have Bob’s career choices got to do with you?
its his opinion – whats that got to do with you?
The usual scapegoat is the referee. Coyle has already wrongly criticised the referee who dismissed McManaman, promising to appeal against the decision. Fortunately, wiser counsel prevailed.
I’d no idea this would be so contentious. I’m sorry I said it.
its not lad, and you are right. these other pillocks cant see it, thats all
There are circumstances when a player is not entitled to make a tackle. Sometimes he will just have to stand off and wait for a better opportunity.
Not even read the rest of your post. Where, in the laws of the game, does it state that?
now then lad, why don’t you join a library.
The usual scapegoat is the referee. Coyle has already wrongly criticised the referee who dismissed McManaman, promising to appeal against the decision. Fortunately, wiser counsel prevailed.
Who made you judge, jury and executioner of refereeing decisions?
He was sent off on a point of opinion i.e that he had used excessive force in his tackle.
Anyone with half a brain can see he used the necessary force to make the tackle causing no danger to the other player and if you think its excessive or dangerous I would make the argument you are a bit soft.
The reason Coyle didn’t appeal is because red cards are only rescinded if there is a glaring error made in the decision.
So while the FA and the referee may have turned around and said after seeing the reply that it was a good tackle and didn’t deserve a red card but probably a yellow card at most as it could be judged as being a bit wreckless there is nothing they can do to overturn it.
But obviously you know best having googled the subject once and are now the cockney latic authority on all FA related matters.
youll feel a right prat when you read all that back and try to put into the context of what WGTB actually said.
you must have googled the word prat and are now the cockneylatic authority on all things prattish.
At the risk of annoying Griffwhy?
Martinez had ideal wing backs in Boyce and Beausejour that let him play three at the back. Unfortunately, we haven’t got three fit players who can play at the back. Besides, I think Coyle will stick to a conventional back four. We’ve got a dozen midfield players who offer endless variety. What formation would you suggest to face Forest?
Right side of midfield remains a problem. McManaman seems our only natural player there. I’d like to pair up McArthur with McCarthy, and Maloney with Beausejour. Perhaps we could go back to one up front with;
McArthur
Gomez, McCarthy, Beausejour,
Maloney
Holt/FortuneId start McLean (beausejour) and espinoza (mcCarthy) to give us more pace in midfield and a winger who will take defenders on.
some people are arsed about what happens to ex wigan staff especially them that have played a big part in our history.
So am I. Big difference is I want to see him do well, the Leyland lot just can’t wait to see him fail. Mind you, I’m not surprised. I’ve never heard them utter a positive word about anything.
fair do’s
cant remember anyone saying let it go on the best manager thread. or come to think of it the best left back thread or best formation thread etc. some people are arsed about what happens to ex wigan staff especially them that have played a big part in our history.
Neither am I JR. that formation is a bit dated now and teams can play effectively against it. and we need to be more flexible with our formations in europe particularly.
ill believe it when i see him in a wigan shirt ,,,correct.
Listen WGTB youll never get the naysayers on board if you keep confusing them with facts.
there is an old saying griff
they can throw darts in wigan but they cant add up ;)your right but they can catch them in their teeth.
Surely one of the issues here is why people feel the need to drink copious amounts of alcohol, in order to enjoy a footballing day out? Is this a cultural thing, or is it a case of not wanting to stand out by not being the boring one who doesn’t drink.I like the odd drink but never felt the need to follow the crowd and copy what seems to be the norm.
Now your talking sense lad, but it seems these young uns need that dutch courage to be able to act bertie big bollox and light flares.
