Just one bottle of shiraz was it Leyland
On paper possible yes, but…… We have to play 4 of the top 5, 3 away! As loyal as i’d like to be, the picture doesn’t look good so i’m fully expecting us to go down. On current form, & with my blue tints on, i can only see us getting 9 points. Which is nowhere near enough.
If we are lucky enough to come back up next season, maybe Sharpy won’t be as naive and not get too giddy on deadline transfer day.
At home we have bottom of league, and two from bottom half. This is the key, we need to do something we have not done all season, make DW a fortress.
Realistically you are looking for us to win 3 and draw one in the home games. Away you are looking at trying to get 5 or 6 points from somewhere.
And like I said, everything I have just written, we haven’t managed to do yet this season and can’t see how they are going to start now. Our chance was the 4 home games where we should have taken between 7 and 9 points, we got 2. We also needed to beat Blackburn….. look where we’d have been with 10-12 points out of those games…. when added to the great 6 points we got from the midlands.

The latest set of kits (since Kappa took over) have largely been a collaboration of fans and management, via the meetings of those who attended the FAB sessions.
Unfortunately we can’t do anything about the skin tight bit as Kappa won’t budge on the styling.
One of the kit designs was without the stripes and it was voted down by about 80% to 20%, hence why we retained the stripes. That’s not to say it won’t be changed in the future.
I don’t get the anti-red stance, we started life off with red in the logo, and I think played in red for a while (sure George can back me or shoot me down on that).

The thought was that it would be conducive to aerial attacks, he had to try something

It is always a good ‘do’.
I will certainly try to get there, probably via the caly again I guess.

The meeting was quite constructive last night, even if there was no groundbreaking bits of new information.
I will endevour to get something written up, but the topics addressed were the Catering (inside and concourse), The pitch, finances and footballing matters.
If you have any specific questions, post them here and I will see if I can give you an answer them.
The above questions will be answered hopefully in the write up.

It is the first one at the top of the board ‘Questions for the CEO/Chairman’
Please put all the questions in there, so they are in one place.

After 8 years in the premier league it’s amazing that nobody had the nouse to invest some of the money spent on wages on the academy. That would have shown a level of ambition as a club and would have been a legacy of the time we spent up there. As CW says the fact United, City, Liverpool and Everton are on our doorstep must mean we had a good chance in being an attractive proposition as 5th choice and as we did with Callum Mac and Bainesy we could nurture the lads who got released. Would be nice to see a couple of lads a year getting a chance in the first team. Flores showed enough last season to be given game time this year. What’s the point in keep sending lads out on loan when our first team is shite?I think it is the problem with 80% of the Premier League, most of the money GOES on wages, at a level that NO business in the real world would survive.
Even with this new deal, it is the players and the agents that will prosper as the idiot top 6 outdo each other for the highest wage bill, without giving a second thought to the knock effects to the rest of the teams in that League. And giving no thought at all about the impact through the EFL and Grass Roots.

We were clinging at straws when Gary went and saying just the same. Let’s hope this comes true this time.If I remember rightly, we went down to Neil Warnock’s Cardiff and won the match after Gary was sacked….. then lost to Reading at home, which brought us crashing straight back down to earth!!!!

Unfortunately Academies are very expensive things to run and maintain.
The fact we are so close to Premier League Clubs is the problem, as we only get 6th or 7th dibs on young players.
Saying that, some do slip through the net, but we have to be alert to them and nurture them. I think it s a focus, but it is a while before we will see rewards.

The position we are in right now is from a bad start to pre-season followed by bad decisions and underperformances.
I still believe that we have the players to get out of this even now, but I am not 100% sure they have the fight in them….. 8 to 12 points is needed out of the next four games to give us the slightest glimmer of hope.
The four games after that are much tougher.FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
Just because of who his dad is we should now look to Warnock to become more of a leader on the pitch he must pick his dads brains and like him or not Colin Wanker is one of the best in the business at this level. A word in the ear and Warnock the younger may just make a difference .
Has to be a wind up surely?
On the subject of Warnock, is it just me or has his form dipped over the last month or so. The negativity of the rest of the squad seems to be getting to him and he can’t turn it around.
I don’t think it is a wind up :blink:I agree with you on Warnock though. His form has dipped. But as you say, that could be down to the negativity.
Barrow seems to be making all the right noises in the press today though – saying you need to be in the box to score, you can’t score from the halfway line and that he knows what pleases Wiganers and he’ll be drilling that into the players before Saturday.
Sounds very much to me like he’s been a frustrated bystander.
Let’s hope he turns those sound bites into reality, I don’t think anyone minds losing if we give it everything we’ve got.

Seeing as Graham Barrow is getting the team to ‘take risks’ to score goals, and give the fans a good performance, who would definitely be in the team:
Gilks, Burn, Gilbey and Bogle as a spine I reckon, then Warnock, Morgan and Connelly at back. Morsy, Obertan and MacDonald in midfield, then whether he plays Perkins, Jackobs, Mandron or Grigg.
I heard on Saturday that Grigg could be out for the rest of the season, knee ligament damage.
Just been speaking to someone that said he was on crutches Saturday, so that sounds about right.
I must have missed that bit of news on the website :S
