I think most coach operators have the no-drinking policy now.
As for details, this is being done by the travel puzzle, the best thing is to call them direct and they will put minds at rest.
I think this birthday thing was supposed to be a surprise, but you’re not the first to tell me….. I actually don’t know what she has organised, but I hope it involves lot of wine

It isn’t something I would do either BUT, as was explained to me by loudmouth a few weeks back, some people really don’t like flying, it fills them with dread and although it doesn’t affect me I can see that – this now gives these people an option to get over to Maribor and see if we can qualify.
Also, the flight prices are not exactly cheap now, so at £148 for travel and an overnight stay after the game, it is good value for money.

Finger on the pulse…..
Joanne has said there has been god early interest in the coach trip, though she will only take the first 50 names that she puts down, so if you are interested then get your name down and then you know your on.
You’ll only have to pay once you safely have your ticket in your hand.
She also said it is a very nice exec coach…. and won’t have the same issues with toilets or missing ferries that a certain other operator had.
The Supporters Club site is also publishing loads of information about Maribor and what to expect there……

There is an SLO area on the Wigan Athletic Supporters Club site – Your answer is here
Thanks JR, hopefully I can get issues that are relevant to us fans sorted out quickly and more transparently than has been in the past under the old system.

I am guessing it is because it’s a different stand, but I will ask the question on Monday morning, for you (unless they reply to my email over the weekend.

I think the transfer situation will have changed regarding price now, I suppose it depends on how many off your flight are travelling over to Maribor.
As they have shown by the alleged incidents in Wigan when they came here, the Maribor fans can be quite colourful. But we have arranged for Wigan Athletic only bars and restaurant on the Wednesday night and Thursday, for those that want sanctuary as it were.
We are not the first to travel there and the police are quite au fait with the situation, so hopefully she is just being a bit over cautious.

Very giddy!!
Was looking at all the train info from Ljubljana to Maribor yesterday. Been planning our itinerary whilst in Maribor too & looking forward to going up the river on some raft with an oom pa pa band whilst partaking in the local brews!!Part of me is hoping that Latics still need to take something out of the game to add a bit more spice to the trip. I’ll still enjoy the trip if Latcis qualify after the Zulte game on the 28th but I’d rather the Maribor game not be a dead rubber
If you need transfers and ideas for things to do, http://www.thetravelpuzzle.com ask Joanne, have special rates for Wigan Athletic fans…. she is already arranging transfers, skiing, hotels, restaurants, beer/wine tasting at breweries/vineyards, river trips and nightclubs for over 200 who are going.
Costs is similar to train if not cheaper, but you won’t have to hang around.

That’s the conundrum isn’t it, they are only on sale in the Supporters Club and you need to be a Supporters Club Member to get into the Bar.
There are many benefits to being a Member, this is just one. WASC had all intentions of offering the remaining prints out after this weekend, but as I type there are only one set of the small three, 5 Large and a couple of the single pics left. So it is unlikely that there will be any left by 2.00 tomorrow judging on the emails asking what time we are opening.
Mark has only printed a certain amount of each, and will not be printing any more – certainly not signed ones anyway.

Support your club but that would appear to be difficult due to certain incompetencies
10-15 upset people out 11,000 isn’t bad, even out of 800 it still isn’t bad.
Just the very loud minority again.
I got an exceptional service from the ticket office (as did over 600 others) with no hassle and a lot of patience with me whilst I was faffing about. Incompetence certainly isn’t what I witnessed.

Ticket in hospitality £40, only £15 more than a match ticket and you get a meal and Programme!!!!!

.Gekko, what the hell is that final paragraph about?…….
I know you like to side with the club but the only information coming out is half cocked and rumour
There are people that have booked flights ,week long holidays and done everything to get time off work etc for this trip
Instead of a we will just wait and see lets have a proper statement from the club with a bit of empathy attached
The Club have said:
Supporters not able to purchase have been put on a waiting list should more match tickets become available, with the club currently contacting NK Maribor to investigate whether this is possible
As we are two months away, what is the time limit you would set for Maribor, their local authority and their police force to decide if a larger allocation should be given to us?
What point is it that they can safely say that the home support isn’t going to be at a point where they will be able to let us have more tickets? As I have said a couple of times, I can’t think for a minute that it will be in the next week or two, can you?
gaLatctic, I think Tyldesley summed up that part well enough.
*On the subject of ‘towing the Club line’, I call it perspective and playing devil’s advocate, I very rarely get praise for looking at it from the other side as well as ours. But, if I feel the Club has done something untoward or could do things better, I will say so and have had on many occasions.

I’ve removed his name now… I think I have got all the instances.
I need to back Gekko here, it is not easy organising something on this scale, believe me I know.
I don’t know if the ticket situation can be resolved as it isn’t up to Latics or Maribor, it is up to the local authorities and the Police, both of which are sick to death of cleaning up after fans in the past…. see YouTube.
Hopefully our impeccable resume at Brugge will stand us in good stead, but don’t expect a decision in the next 5 weeks.
This isn’t a plug for her, but Joanne at thetravelpuzzle.com has catered for lots of fans visiting Maribor in the past, and she has confirmed that the Police really don’t like away fans in the City (for our sakes, as the NK fans can be quite naughty).

Quote “who is to blame – The Club????” Of course the club is to blame  The proviso for getting a ticket was that you had to show your travel arrangements.
When has Wigan Athletic EVER shown anything but contempt for the average fan?The way I read it was you had to tell your travel arrangements, if you said you hadn’t booked it meant how you were planning to travel and to confirm once finalised.
It is quite irrelevant though at the end of the day, those who want to find fault will do, the facts are the Club have done everything they could, and a lot sooner than they needed to.
I am amazed they announced the VIP trip so soon, I thought they would have waited longer, but was there ever going to be a good time for those that want to shoot the Club down at every opportunity?
The Belgium trip was entrusted to Shearings and the price announced by them.
The Kazan trip is not that bad a price for what you get for the money.
This is all on expectation, and I feel the expectation was that only 500 was going to go.
Gekko, what the hell is that final paragraph about?
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
The Club could very well have waited until their normal time for issuing tickets, that could have been the last week in November.
By that time 100’s more could have booked travel thinking there would be no problems with tickets. By doing this now they will hopefully stop people booking a trip without a chance of getting a ticket.
Not every club has a 1,500 allocation of away tickets, it was mentioned many times on here that there were only 600 tickets.
Be happy for the ones that did get one and if you booked travel without knowing you had a ticket, who is to blame – The Club????
Big thumbs up for them thinking of the fans here, they have probably saved a lot of people a lot of money.
