Thing is Jimmy City wanted to pay 45 mill for him in the summer but that moron Wenger and Arsenal showed unbelievable arrogance thinking he would sign another contract with them when it was made crystal clear he wanted to leave. They constantly let contracts run down giving the player all the trump cards. If I was Sanchez I would screw Arsenal up by staying till June then get a monstrous signing on fee from one of the clubs desperate to sign him. Also putting paid to any chance of Arsenal bringing in the likes of Mikhatarian as part of the deal. City offered 25 mill Utd will pay a lot more than that and put another dent in the career of a young promising English player. I would let Utd have him and waste more of their budget on another forward to go with the half a dozen others they already have. Cristiano Ronaldo may soon be on the market and though he ain’t much longer to last at the top he could still be a great buy short term.
You’re right about Wenger NL. He’s paying for it now though as he’s got a really poor side at the moment with more to leave. Reckon they’ll be nowhere near the top four this season.
Jose is all about now (and himself) and he won’t give two hoots about how much they pay as he’ll be desperate to win something. Unbelievable amounts of money..
Going to be a tough test this one grumpy. They’ve won five on the spin at home, we played mid week… Hoping for a more entertaining game than the one at home. Seem to recall them defending well but offered little in the way of entertainment.
Hoping for a 2 – 1 away win
If he totally goes missing then he wouldn’t do anything in the game to get himself noticed as b being sh! te.
Strikers too lightweight….don’t work defenders enough.Hope we sign someone with some height and brawn until then we will continue to score eff all at home. For a striker to work any defence MrB he needs the service and our front men (or man) just don’t get the service. So bringing in a big man up front will mean he needs someone to play alongside him to pick up the ball when he’s won it.
So many times yesterday we had two men out wide on each wing, on just Grigg in the middle on his own?
The job of a winger is to beat his man and then send a cross in, not pass it sideways or backwards.Great that we extended our lead at the top yesterday, but we definitely need a plan B for the home games.
Jacobs is below par?
Thought he had an excellent game with lots of effort and skill – his final decision making let him down.
And did you see that run near the end?
If that’s someone who is below par then I hope we keep on being below par.Agree. He ran himself into the ground. His biggest problem is that he doesn’t have a left foot. Mind you, if he did, he wouldn’t be playing for Wigan Athletic.
Just needs to improve his end product. Can’t fault him on effort.
But surely the end product makes the player? All huff and puff or this and that without an end product is not good enough surely? An analogy. It’s like a master chef prepping and then producing a really good meal but not serving it up on a plate for the punters to enjoy! His shot into row Z of the South Stand was probably a hint to us why he doesn’t pull the trigger too often ;)
Jacobs final decision making always lets him down.
Fair to say Jacobs had one of his better games yesterday, effort wise. But he’s still bang average. Jacobs has no end product and too often in games he goes missing.
Personally, think he’s as bad as Massey but Massey doesn’t go missing which makes him more noticeable.Looking at his history, comes across as a bit of a journeyman who has never settled at a club properly. Not sure I’d have gone for him, personally, but that’s just my opinion. Hope he proves me wrong.
The amount of clubs he’s had doesn’t look good and it makes you wonder about his attitude.. remember Jewell signing Roberts and thinking he’s taken a risk buying him as he’d had his troubles at other clubs but that turned out well. Maybe cook could have bagged himself good one.
As jr said, he bagged a few in this league last season so fingers crossed…
Looks like he’s out of contract at the end of this season. Couple of struggling Prem clubs sniffing around him, unlikely we’ll get him if that’s the case.
Looks like he can play as a striker or winger donny. Paul Jewell always liked players that could play in more than one position.
They are the obvious ones Donny, if nobody else goes.
We are being strongly linked with the Hearts winger. Wanted by Rangers and out if contract in the summer reports saying we could get him in January for 300k.We brought him in for an undisclosed fee? Hearts fans are gutted so he must be half decent.
He looks a busy player, gets stuck in and can hit a ball from edge of box. Let’s hope cook has found a good one.
Who will give way for him?
Who Bournemouth or Shrewsbury.
It’s Chelsea who will be on TV. Might make a few more tics turn up.
IF we beat Bournemouth then I certainly wouldn’t want Shrewsbury again. Wouldn’t be entertaining that’s for sure.
Hope Bournemouth put a reserve side out as we could beat them but if full strength then think we’ll lose.If reports regarding Nick Powell are correct then again some assurances re takeover must be in place to make the lad want to sign a new deal instead of going to the Villa.Hope there is, and he does. I’ve been a critic of his in the past for not putting enough effort in but he seems to have changed, maybe it’s hit home that he’s wasting a talent.
He’s gone down VERY easily in my opinion. Why he hasn’t just had the shot in the first place I don’t know.Having watched the highlights back though, how good were some of Christian Walton’s saves?????
Walton was superb Egg, possibly MOM along with Dan Burn.
Toney not linked with anyone? No such luck Donny..
