So very sorry your majesty fat. No I didn’t go. Not well off enough to go to Cardiff. But the stats were oh so familiar. My apologies and from about another nine thousand or so Latics fans for not being a super fan with money to burn like you.
Come on Donny you should know what kind of a team Warnock sets up, especially a struggling one. Wasn’t expecting much today, but that is a great 3 points :woohoo:
Faults to pick with certain players for sure. But not now, Gomez didn’t settle today and was slagged of by some supporters! But instinctively knew to come in at the back post, or there abouts!
I’ll take that result today, wasn’t pretty and probably a tad harsh on Cardiff coming away with nothing, but who cares
Defended valiantly, & rode our luck at times (with a few calamitous moments) but Cardiff were guilty of some shocking finishing! Not least when Perkins laid the perfect header on for their man in about the 4th minute of time added on….. Scary.
But we’ll forgive him as he supplied a good old fashioned cross into the box for Gomez to slide on to & place it in the bottom corner :pinch: Should have guessed he would score?!
Let’s hope we beat Reading next up and give the new manager a winning streak to aspire to..
Mark Warburton mentioned in some quarters.
Are Latics bigger than Rangers?
If PL in a couple of years could be an attraction to playing second fiddle to Celtic.I’d not even given this guy a thought..
Now that would be a coup!! But he wouldn’t seriously leave Rangers for us, would he?
I wanted him before we took Caldwell but thought the lure of Rangers was much more attractive than little Wigan.
Watching the goals on Youtube Sunday and it panned to GC and I’ve got to say his demeanour on the touchline reminded me of Roy Hodgson against Iceland.
Not good to see for him nor the fans as he looked worried & like he didn’t know what to do!I’ve no idea who is best to replace GC. Some of the names mentioned sound good / high profile, but do they or will they have the knowledge of the Championship to do anything?
Let’s hope Sharpy makes the right decision.
3 tickets in the family end for less than the price of an adult ticket at Leeds Utd… Nothing to complain about there. Let’s hope our fans get behind the team and take a good few. Anybody know how many we are taking?
Unbeaten in 3 Cardiff, with our recent events not sure how to call this one? Let’s hope the back room staff can pull off a minor miracle and take all 3 points away from the valleys & back to the DW
I said this a while ago but got shot down and as I posted on the other thread we should have gone for the horses head but we didn’t,Who’s available now NO-ONE so we’ve got the cards were dealt and we crack on GC will come good I’ll put a pint on it .Not so sure he will grumps? Think he may be out of his depth?
His substitutions at Bristol cost us that game & he’s not learnt from that. He’s very predictable, he’s trying to copy others ideas rather than having his own which is why he can’t seem to make game changing decisions.Don’t know if you heard Wish FM today interviewing GC. He’s gained his footballing ethos from, Bob, Mowbray & Strachan….
To be fair, we DID create enough chances & played decent. One fluke goal (that could have gone anywhere) & confidence dropped after that.My only negative was when caldwell took off grigg following the goal. IMO he should have took power or perkins off & brought on lefondre alongside grigg.
But i do agree. If this form continues i do wonder how patient mr sharpe will be.
Thought we were by far the better side until they scored. Their goal knocked the stuffing out us, along with GC’s substitution???? WTF did he take Grigg off for?
Problem today was our finishing, incredibly poor, Jacob had a decent game i thought, but his shooting was crap, as was everybody else’s.
Our talisman up front got no decent service again today, and to see him out wide looking for the ball is scandalous!Their goal, i thought was a well taken one, smart finish as he placed it.
As disappointed as i was walking off that ground today, i couldn’t really say it was all down to GC. The players need to take some of the blame. the tempo was good today until they scored.
GC’s tac tics though do worry me. He doesn’t have a killer instinct, let alone a knowhow on how to play this game.
This will be a tough & very close game I think. Brighton have got the best defence in the league, and only lost one away from home. They don’t score too many on their travels though.
GC has shored us up at the back lately so i’ll go for a 1 – 1 draw.
PS, Bong will be back at the DW, let’s hope he doesn’t assist or even worse score!
That looks mint
Did no one tell you?
“Mint” is no longer an acceptable term to describe something that is “good”.
I believe you should have said “that looks sick”…. These young uns ah..
I can’t see us getting much tonight. Leeds are poor away from home but have won their last 3 home games. Monk seems to be turning it round over there.
All close wins for Leeds and I think tonight will be, but 2 – 1 Leeds me thinks.
A lot of the short passes are sideways & backwards. Think what most fans would like to see is a quicker tempo, and a purpose to the passing, not passing for the sake of it.
Whether you are a current posters on Cockney Latic or a fan at the ground both seem to be saying the same.Yes, I’d like them to be more dynamic but I’m genuinely intrigued to know what people think the alternative is to passing it sideways and backward when there’s no other pass on, other than to hit it forwards and hope for the best.
The West Stand has its regular caterwaulers of ‘Gerrit forwards’ but it’s the same people who then start screaming at Caldwell when the ball goes to the opposition and comes back at us.
I certainly wouldn’t want to see long ball hoofs up field all the time myself. Bogdan kicked it long on a couple of occasions and Burton won the headers in midfield so it was .
The lack of movement in Midfield causes a lot of this needless passing IMO. Finding space, one two’s, give and go or midfielders making runs into the box just don’t seem to happen anymore. Our midfield seem to come short for the pass and then either give it straight back or look instantly for another short pass, invariably to a defender. this mentality changes towards the end of the game especially if we are chasing the game so why not from the off?
Who is daft enough to get married in the football season?Remember it is not only the Wedding Day that you force your mates to miss a game, but you assign yourself to a life of missing a game a year (ish).
Why do it??????
Sounds like someone has a wedding invite..
Think the problem is that most blokes don’t really think that far ahead….?
I’m gonna miss old fat head coming back to the DW this season! The drinking ban was very much needed when it was brought in.. But the atmosphere in grounds is very much different now to then. So maybe we should be allowed to enjoy a pint during the game, in our seat.
No thanks Jimmy, any more of this dross from Caldwell we’d all be alcoholics come May!
 ah, it might numb the pain Bullitt…
Your team winning can make a fans weekend Lincs. Not wanting to sound too down but I just can’t see us having that feeling too many times going off what i’ve seen to date.
Changes to the team again yesterday tell me GC either, still isn’t sure of his best starting 11 or was worried about Burton?! And far too few chances created. It’s not rocket science, we just need to get forward quicker and give Grigg some regular & decent service. He will score as for me he is a natural goal scorer. -
