It is very broken at the moment, we are desperately trying to fix it….
No worries, in fact i’ve had such a bad week you can leave it if you like :P
Them City fans will do almost anything to get there hands on final tickets. Reading on one of their forums that one fan bought two tickets for £800 which included coach travel & free bar on said coach!!!
Recession? what recession!I’m curious as to why anyone could think doing well in the FA Cup has / could have played a part in us struggling this season. The two matches rearranged because of cup ties mean that Wigan face a very busy and difficult end to the season – and that is what worries me.
Saturday, away to West Brom in a vital League game. By chance, City face Swansea.
Tuesday of Cup Final week, a vital rearranged League game against Swansea. City – with a far bigger and better squad – have an inconsequential home game with West Brom.
Saturday, Wigan face City in the FA Cup Final. While Wigan battle it out with City, Arsenal will be watching it on TV with their feet up – and hoping that it goes to extra time and penalties too.
Tuesday, away to Arsenal in a vital rearranged League game. Arsenal are still fighting for a place in the Champions League. Aston Villa have a free mid-week to prepare for their final game, as do Newcastle, Sunderland and Norwich.
Sunday, vital League game home to Villa.
These five matches in a fortnight will decide Wigan’s success this season. If Wigan manage to come through them successfully, they really will have earned their reward.
Still not wearing this too many games lark. It might even be a good distraction, keep thier minds off the relegation battle.
As said previously, being in a relegation battle is nothing new for us!Well, Martinez recognized that succeeding in two competitions would be difficult with a squad the size of Wigan’s.To the fans’ dismay, he has used every round to give experience to reserve and youth players, in the knowledge that defeat would let him concentrate his modest resources on the struggle for league survival.
Wigan might have had just one home tie, but the FA Cup draw has been kind to Wigan this year with opponents from the Conference, League One, two from the Championship and just one from the Premier League.
The games have allowed Gomez, McManaman and Robles to develop, and Wigan have advanced despite the weakened teams put out by Martinez. Now we are going to see whether he was correct about succeeding in two competitions – and whether he will continue his cup policy next season.
I’m curious as to why anyone could think doing well in the FA Cup has / could have played a part in us struggling this season. Apart from 2/3 seasons we have always struggled in the prem and the FA cup has been what, 6 extra games!! Hardly a demanding task for the players.
For me the cup has been a welcome break from the struggle of the prem, and look at the excitement it has generated for the fans.If we go down then we’ll be playing 48 games min next season, what excuses will come out then!
If you’re wanting the Villa game to have some meaning then we had better stop giving soft goals away. I thought we’d gotten rid of the bad habbit but after Saturday!!
Does anyone know when tickets are posted? Each day? Both times i’ve ordered online i’ve received them a couple of days later. I’ve ordered two more £85 today so hope to have them Friday?
There are only five games left you know??
Joel is a good young keeper and does not deserve to be dropped after one mistake….
Thought our midfield trio of McCarthy McCarthur, and Gomez were magnificent yesterday, in fact for me take a bow Jordi, man of the match in my opinion :)Think Bo must be in with a shout for MOTM. He kept Bale quiet all game, so much so didn’t Bale swap wings in second half?
Of course the media will say Bale wasn’t at his best but for me Bo had one of his better gamesFigs out for the season according to RM post match. Groin injury 5-6 weeker.
Gutted for the lad, really gutted.
Saw Figs come out on crutches to the bench just before full time today….
definitely two points dropped for me. That first goal was laughable and we should have been two up and coasting.
Arouna Kone had two gilt edge chances today and fluffed them both, straight at the keeper.
That said, great game, very entertaining with some good footy played by both sides.
This is a very worth while topic. Well worth the few seconds it takes to vote..
In light of our Wembley exploits i’d have thought every Wigan fan would have taken the time to get their point across.…take a hip flask in!!!
And get arrested and a ban if caught.
He is right, there were two blokes sat in front of me with hip flasks… Have to say one did fall asleep about 5mins after kick off for the duration of the game
The German Bundesliga averages more fans (on terraces) than the premier league and has done for a number of years. They have more clubs averaging over 40k per game than we do.
Ticket pricing will play a big part in that i’m sure. Was at Wembley for the City game and a lot of their fans were drinking cans around the ground & on the tube. Can’t say i blame anybody for boycotting at the prices being charged, pish take.
My thoughts exactly SL. Think his reputation has influenced this ban. There are numerous incidents i can think of in previous seasons a lot worse than this that did not carry bans of this length…
God help the next bloke that next swings and elbow or breaks a leg..Forget the fact that the offence was for biting, for a minute. Last year he was given an 8-match ban for the Evra racist charge. He now finds himself on a serious FA charge again. I think there is an element of him being punished for not learning lessons.
Anyway, I can’t stand him, so don’t really care.
Shouldn’t each case be judged on it’s own merit?
On a cynical note, this could be a game plan by him and his agent to force a move to Bayern at the end of this season???
