I am glad you answered my request for reasons to continuing supporting martinez, I only wish the person I aimed it at would have done so, I am afraid though not one of your points has any real factual basis.
Oh I’ve made a mistake then bobby hasn’t kept us up for 2 seasons, those kind words said by other managers are a figment of my imagination.
You have just proved to everyone that you are a first class numpty! goodpost
If you believe jr that one manager would not come and say nice things about another manager then it is you who is the numpty. Especially when the above mentioned manager has gifted the other managers team with a welcome 3 points
I’m sorry but that statement is the most nieve thing I’ve ever read. Managers don’t gift points believe me, for example Bobby really thought that team could have beat Swindon yesterday, it wasn’t just a case of gifting Swindon a 4th round place. SAF thought the team he put out against Blackburn at OT could have easily beaten them.
I have read many articles written by managers giving rave reviews about Bobby as a manager and coach having undertaken coaching sessions at FA Schools of excellence with him. I’m not just talking about what a manager says about the opposition manager on MOTD, after his team has just beaten theirs.

And this is why we are 2nd from bottom with the worst goal difference, only one win at home and scored less goals than Leyland Motors and they don’t even have a team any more !! HELLO welcome to the real World !! Or are we not worthy and do you look forward to the Goole Gooligans again !!If you had read my post proper you would have noticed that I actually don’t think we will get relegated for the very reasons I detailed in my post. We are not exactly marooned in 20th place are we then mossy. The likes of the Sunderlands and Derbys of the world, two of the massive clubs with loads of history, have been relegated on laughable points totals.
I think you should do some research like you do with nags pal,the season doesn’t end first week in January. It’s like backing backing a favourite and throwing your ticket away cos its sat at the back 4 furlongs from home.
I have not seen any comments or constructive debate in this thread from any of the Martinez out brigade, that has convinced me or anyone that he should throw the towel in now.
If you can, please let us know gang, what the club should do now, who they seriously should bring in with respect to manager and players, what tactics we should adopt etc etc., that will GUARANTEE us progressing more than we will with Martinez. :woohoo:

What a journey!Any chance you could all your rants on one thread then I can just ignore the fecking lot of them
Instead of ignoring them offer a counter opinion, all we ever tend to hear from martinez supporters when he is being slated is – change the record, darkside, disloyal, over reaction and personal insults to those that dont fit your profile.
Please take this opportunity to tell those doubters why they should change their opinion and why they should support martinez, while i realise thirty4 rarely has any opinions it an open invitation to everyone who is pro martinez.
Good point there and the apologists just come out with the same crap over and over and over again. SO COME ON 33 TELL ME IN YOUR WISDOM WHY MARTINEZ IS THE MAN WHO WE SHOULD STICK WITH?. don’t let sentiment and misty eyed nostalgia get in the way of your answer as well
I’ll answer that one pal if I may;
1) Martinez is recognised by all the “football people” in this country including owd purple nose, as being the most knowledgeable, exciting, determined young manager around. There is no doubt that he will manage a big European club at some point, maybe a top national team.
2) Martinez tries to get his teams playing football as it should be played and at times we have witnessed the most attractive football seen by a Wigan Athletic team. OK we get heart palpitations when the defenders are knocking it around like Barcelona and getting caught out, but its a bit better than the John Filan punt up the wing for Lee McCulloch to head on to nobody, or it go straight into touch, remember the good old days?
3)He loves Wigan Athletic and you can see that in his every move and word. Call it sentiment, call it old pals act, whatever but he’s not some prima dona like Bruce who tells you he loves the club then feks off as soon as a bigger club with bigger spending power comes along. Shirking the challenge I’ll label it, frightened of rolling his sleeves up and getting on with it. Never making excuses of having to lose your best players or not being able to afford the £10m striker we all want.
4) He has kept us in the prem for two seasons and for the “stalwarts” amongst us, that is a fekin brilliant achievement last day win or not he did it. How proud did you feel when the players and staff were throwing bobby in the air at the Brit and DW being showered in champers. It makes me shiver thinking about it, because I love my team and I’m proud of what they have achieved and still achieving.
5) I and many others have seen a big improvement in the teams performance since the start of the season. Trudging off the DW after drawing against Chelsea and feeling disappointed is progress with a capital “P”. OK we’ve also lost games we should have won on possession and general play, but I’m not one of those fans who think we have a god given right to beat the likes of Swansea, Norwich, Sunderland, Bolton,Fulham etc. Apart from Swansea these are all teams who have graced the top flight for many, many years. If you actually expect that we should turn these teams over, the your as arrogant as the Liverpool and Chelsea fans who think they should turn little Wigan over every time they play us.
6) and lastly cos I’m boring misell now,.we are not in a disastrous position in the league. I honestly think, even after the Sunderland defeat that we are playing well enough to get to a comfortable mid table position. It has to be said and even the darkest of the darksiders must agree, that lady luck has shat on us this season. Big, big decisions have gone against us and cost us the points that would put us comfortably mid table.
Bringing somebody else in at this stage would definitely get us relegated. It would take months for a manager to shape a team and tactics so why risk it.Now that’s my reasons for not wanting to join this “Martinez out” brigade.
Please don’t copy and paste this in a response with red highlighted comments under each of the 6 paragraphs. You asked for a reply to your question and you’ve had one, end of, next topic please.
PS keep those negative karmas coming, the more I get the more I realise I’m pishing some of you moaning tworts off. :P

What a journey!Look where we have come from? why does that one always get wheeled out by the apologists. Look where we are going back to?. I remember when it was just fields round here BLAH BLAH FCUKING BLAH!
Why does that always get wheeled out because it could so easily have ended up like this

excuses excuses excuses but then again 33 i expect nothing less from your ilk. Even Horc who is a stalwart fan 1st game in 1969 says enough is enough. people like you though and that other c..t on here just can’t see the wood for the tree’s can you.MARTINEZ OUT!
I wondered when you would come from under your brick sunshine.
You missed December it was quite warm for the time of year. I think you’ll find that the majority of “stalwarts” on here are chubsters in disguise, who swap and change to which ever of the two clubs is doing best. The tone on this site was soooo positive after the good results coming in December, but one league defeat and a weakened team cup exit later, they’re all out in force with the Martinez out shyte.
The term “fickle fans” was invented for the likes of the moaning gits on here tonight.
Oh and by the way I’ve been watching them since mid 60’s and my dads bigger than your dad, grow up lad!!. :huh:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Indeed ,when in the lower leagues couldn’t wait for the third round draw if we got there that is now just seems like a pain in the ass most Wiganers have fecked it off since we got into the Prem as shown by the attendences in previous yearsIts not just Wigan thirty its the majority of the prem teams.
At one time the smaller clubs would be jumping for joy having drawn the likes of Man U or Chelsea. Now-days if the minnows draw a big name all they see is a bunch of young kids with the odd fringe player and the odd first teamer coming back from injury.
It’s exactly what happened today at Swindon and will continue to happen. I remember going to Stoke in the 3rd round of the FA cup on a freezing January day during Jewell’s reign and was gutted to find the names Roberts and Ellington missing from the Wigan line up with a few other first teamers.
We lost 2-0 I think and it stopped a good run of victories.

wont pay to watch shyte and get little entertainment valueApparently it entertains you enough to force yourself on here and go into spit dummy mode. If its that bad, keep away from the ground, don’t watch it on telly and don’t bring your views to this forum. There are plenty of other things you can be doing on Saturday afternoon that might be a little more entertaining for you and more value for money.

What a journey!Don’t know why you’re bothered/surprised. It’s obvious the club, the manager and the players aren’t arsed about the FA Cup, don’t see why the supporters bother getting upset about it either.
Because Griff we the supporters are the ones that feel the embarrassment the ones who are the butt of all the jokes. We will still be here long after these clowns have left for pastures new.At least we will have a few well rested players for Mondays latest upcoming defeat. And yes im pissed off.
Honestly, I’m not trying to be funny here, but why be embarrassed? Nobody cares about Wigan and the club has clearly written off the cup competitions so why bother about it? And this is not me backing the club because, as I’ve said before, I don’t agree with the approach at all but if they are going to be totally apathetic about it, why shouldn’t we?
So when i go to work Monday and the scoucers and the mancs are taking the piss i say “im not embarrassed coz we dont care about the cup” well im sorry but i am fookin embarrassed we are a joke.
Don’t feel embarrassed mate, just inform them that it wasn’t that long ago that Wigan beating Swindon was deemed a giant killing. I certainly remember it and it was probably about the same time that Liverpool was winning trophies for fun.

What a journey! The reason I didn’t go today was because I didn’t want to travel all that way to see a mixture of fringe players, development team players and some senior players wearing the tics shirt and probably getting beat.
I bow down to the 500 or so fans who made the trip but as for shock result?.. not in my mind.
I watched the game on my PC in the comfort of my conservatory and witnessed the type of performance I expected. Not many positives at all apart from young Mustoe at left back and occasional decent runs from Macmanaman.
Must admit we looked a far better team when Gomez came on and as for Moses, although he didn’t get much of a run out, he looked as interested in the game as me and my two mates watching with a can of cheapo nasty in each hand. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Quite a few shocks today then:Macclesfield leading Bolton before eventually drawing.
Crawley beating Bristol City.
Notts County winning at Doncaster.
Stevenage beating Reading.
Wrexham getting a draw at Brighton.Maybe more shocks tomorrow?
Probably, but it will be somewhere on the lines of “Wigan Rugby player caught selling cocaine to 13 year old kids”

What a journey! Not really LMB. I don’t think JR suggests anywhere that Jones is a good defender, or even Martinez’ inclusion of him in the team is a good one.
Surely the assertion that defenders should be good at defending first and foremost remains valid?
So what was jrfatfan suggesting?
This is what he said
“Don’t forget bobby sees these players day in day out, not just for the odd game now and then.
If he was good enough he would be in.”He then went on to say
“I’ve always said it, defenders must be good defenders first and foremost, if they can join up with the attack that’s a bonus.”
At that point people questioned if this is correct why is Jones in the side in the wing back position when everybody other than the manager can see he is not suited to that role, infact his defending skill are nil.
So is he saying PVA was not good enough, but Jones is ? You seem to know what he is thinking so perhaps you could explain it.
Fekin hell dogman I’m not in court being tried for murder.
I’m not saying Jones is a top defender but he fits in this formation nicely and has something that many people on here often moan about Bobby’s signings, lack, premiership experience. Admittedly there have been quite a few occasions were Jones has been left wanting on one to one situations, but there have also been more positives with respect to passing ability, linking up with the left winger, creating chances for others and himself, keeping hold of the ball when needed, looking generally what he is, a very good experienced player that has help steady our sinking ship and bring confidence to the team
I’ve seen the Chelsea kid twice, once at Everton and the other at Palace and he looked great surging forward but as for know how of the game with respect to positioning and reading it, miles away. It’s only off two games mind and bit parts in a few others so that’s all I’m basing it on. As for Bobby he is basing his decision to let him go on what he sees in training, full scale practice games etc.
Sorry if I’ve “blown you out the water” guys, but I sort of understand the game a bit and don’t just come on here to moan about decisions made by Bobby or Whelan.
If the kid had got in the team and played bad for 5-6 games you would then be on here moaning about bobby keeping him in the team and not having the foresight to see when a player is not ready for the rigours of the EPL.…..and that is the case for the defence your honour! B)

If he was good enough he would be in.
I also saw him at Goodison and whilst looking sharp going forward, he was caught out of position time and time gain. I’ve always said it, defenders must be good defenders first and foremost, if they can join up with the attack that’s a bonus.
There must be at least another loan coming in if he’s gone back to the chelski. ;)

What a journey! He did cock it up (again)but to say cahill gave is all for noblot against everton ok he scored but is overall game was and his rubbish he will get found out at chelsea pretty quick
I think on the whole Cahill has been good for Bolton and when he leaves he will get nothing but praise and well wishes from both the club and fans !
I work with a Bolton Wanderers season ticket holder who watches them away as well. During the last couple of windows when the top teams were chasing Cahill’s signature, he said hope he goes.
An overall assessment he gave was; gives 100%, quite athletic, good in the air, but gets dragged out of position easily and has costed them loads of goals. He sounds like a taller, thinner, paler version of Titus Bramble. :woohoo:
