Looking at the fixtures, our 8 remaining fixtures do not look the most difficult – Preston, Forest, Bristol, Villa, Rotherham, Barnsley, Cardiff & Leeds, and I’d like to think that we could amass at least 16 points from those games.
Then I remember that we’ve won 1 home game in the league since September, and 3 all season.
We’re at the stage of the season where every point (and possibly goal) is priceless.
For me though it’s the run of fixtures qpr, FOREST, blackburn, (birmingham), BRISTOL C that will make or break us. Of the 4 games against teams just above us must get 8-9 points min or it really is over.
Certainly a big improvement when we went 442 second half, but then again just about anything would have been an improvement on the first half!
We’re “officially” in the drop zone now and given the next 3 fixtures the task looks very tough. Bogle looks like he could be a real handful, IF he gets the support.
Surely Yootha will now go 442 at least at home
Much as I hate football cliches, but Tuesday is a must win game
Got to go for it. Grigg and Bogle up front.
I’d sooner lose 4-3 than another boring 0-1 to yet another “unlucky” goal.
There’s rarely if ever an “unlucky” goal. It happens because the other team took a chance and it paid off. Get the ball in the box enough times something will happen. And for Christ’s sake leave someone up when we’re defending a corner.
Only 283 years to wait then?We are in for a long night :P
The days of players playing for the same club all their career are long gone; players come and go, get used to it.
If the club/DW can make a few quid along the way good luck to them.
Hoping (as opposed to expecting) there will be more inward business before 2300.
Will he get a nice polite round of applause on Wednesday next? There’ll only be you there on Wednesday Donny ;)
I’m enjoing it even more now :woohoo:
So am I :cheer:
So important that we do indeed pick up 3 points today following on from last week, or we could undo last week’s good work.
Any team can win a game in this division (Rotherham last week etc); critical that we can put 2-3 wins together to climb out of the drop zone.
Good to see new blood coming in; let’s hope we don’t now got through our usual “settling in” process for about 10 matches or we will be sunk.
I think we can do it today, happy with a scrappy or even a lucky 1-0.
Let’s hope it’s not that pr!ck Mowbray commentating.
He can’t wait to describe how impudent little Wigan were taught a lesson they will never forget.
Agreed, a top gesture.
Imagine the TV money will cover it!
Crucially, given ST’s were £179 renewal ST holders are still paying less than the one off match price.
Let’s hope we get some more bums on seats :cheer:
Whilst we can’t really celebrate tonight, we can allow ourselves a little smile :)
Survival is a mountain to climb; today we reached base camp whereas we could have crashed to the ground.
So so vital that we kick on and win next weekend. Any team can win a game (Rotherham today…) the key is to win 2 or 3+ on the bounce.
Good stuff today. Read somehere that’s the 100th team we’ve beaten in the FL..and ticked the box of having beaten every team we’ve ever played in the FL since 1978. Bet there’s a few who haven’t done that ;)
Assuming the game does go ahead, without using too many of the old cliches, this really is the relegation 6 pointer.
Given Burton are in the last safety place and 6 points ahead of us, we simply cannot afford to lose and let the gap from safety grow to at least 7 points aka 3 games
For me this is the pivotal game in our season. Win tomorrow we really could be on our way to safety, lose and sorry I just don’t see us surviving. Sure we can win the odd game here and there but so can all the others around us; just can’t see us putting a good enough run together to close a 7+ point gap. A draw we just about cling on…
Really got to go for the win tomorrow, no 5-5-0’s etc
Did we ever score at Manure in the league?
All ST holders should get tickets B)
Second Season in PL. Boxing Day Baines Penalty and we stayed up by 1 goal after we beat Sheff Utd on last day of the season !!![/quote]
Ah yes remember now…
We lost 15 times out of 16 to them in the league…enjoyed the 16th though haha…now someone did mention about getting Shaun Maloney in on loan
Utd play Hull on the Thursday before in League Cup, so our game will be on the Sunday which will mean the Norwich (h) game will move to Wednesday. That’s not good as we’re supposed to be playing Sheff W on TV on the Friday night
