Thankfully I couldn’t go last night. Sounds like I dodged a bullet!
There is a positive to take from last night….we can’t drop down the table on Monday
Very bad decision. Up there with appointing Mackay…
Obviously home form especially hasn’t been good this season but with so much of the season still to go and given how compact the table is way too early to be changing manager.
The board need to get the appointment right and show real commitment in the January window, or I fear the fans will turn on the owners. I’ll no doubt end up there on Saturday, but at the moment I’m seriously considering boycotting Saturday’s game; from what I’m hearing I’m not alone.
A sad day for the club. All the best for the future Leam; you’ve been treated badly.
We did wonder what the delay to the start of play was as it surely wasn’t due to crowd congestion
If, and it’s a big if, the goal posts were the wrong height, there’s a very simple solution. It will be known in Wigan as the Lindsay rule. The goalposts will be cemented into the ground and cannot ever be removed, literally not an inch
F**k the EFL
Season ticket arrived this morning
Yesssssssss
I’m stood outside the turnstiles right now (come on let us in the wind’s perishing) and yep the nerves are going.
I need a pint on the concourse
With Rotherham losing that turned out to be a very good point.
So now MK have to make up 4 points on us in 4 games and Rotherham 7 points in 5 games to stop us gaining automatic promotion. Plymouth aren’t mathematically out of it either.
Not going to happen. The old cliche though take each game at a time. Saturday’s the big one though a win in front of the cameras with one or both of MK/Rotherham slipping up and it’s all over bar the shouting!
Done.
Took more than 10 min though, more like 20
It’s probably my age
Managed to find a work around out of this mess.
Went into the ticket site on my phone and started to buy the seat next to mine as a new ST. Paused at that stage before checkout, then logged in on laptop and hey presto, it let me proceed as the system thought the adjoining seat was in the process of being sold.
Must be a better way of running a ticketing website!
No further on with my renewal. Tried calling the TO several times today but waiting times were 40-50 minutes each time.
Looks like I’ll have to go in person tomorrow before KO.
Really not impressed that this cannot be done online in this day and age. Ok I could change seat by why should I after 17 years just because the computer says so?
Accrington off now as well. Can’t go on like this. Not sure what the answer is though
Isn’t that a cricket ground?
I’ll get me coat (going to need it today looking at the forecast!)
The new owners will have to learn quickly (in case we get a 2nd round home tie) that FA cup games are poorly attended unless it’s a “big” team. £15 was too much for most and then I got this email on Friday…
“Dear Supporter,
You are receiving this email as a holder of a seasonal parking pass for one of our official Car Parks for the 2021/22 season.
For clarity, ahead of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup First Round fixture with Solihull Moors at the DW Stadium, we felt it was appropriate we contacted you in advance of the game to confirm that seasonal parking passes are inclusive of League One fixtures only and that passes are not valid for Cup fixtures.
Parking is available at the DW Stadium on Saturday, with Car Parks 1, 3 and 4 available for £5 on arrival.
Thank you for your continued support.
Wigan Athletic Ticket Office”
The car park season ticket previously included cup games. Been on hols this week so was tempted to turn up on the day but that email put me off.
We’re in the 2nd round draw though so up the Tics
Looking forward to Tuesday night, hopefully another three points which will put us top again.

Back to the top for the last time this season
Great performance and result!
There will be many bumps in the road for the top sides this season, but win on Tuesday we will resume our rightful place in the table
