12th spot and Booed off at home !
Whatever next ?

Just watched the goal again on Sky Sports – brilliant goal; I have to say !
Bringing Davies & Vukic on definitely changed the game. Would like to see this positive type formation a bit earlier than 10 mins to go.
Anyway we stayed with the pace and the games will now run out pretty fast; so c’mon tics keep going and don’t look back !

On the other hand we have got 30 points over the last 15 games which is 2 points a game which is promotion form

Good point, PSKL

Believes in and plays good football. Consistent style, consistent team, very few tactical changes, let’s the opposition worry about the side he puts out and doesn’t change his side or style of play through worrying about the opposition and he plays two out and out strikers week in week out. Shaun Dyche. Shame he manages the Dingles but what a record. Almost a second promotion to the Premier League with all those things that don’t work.

Surely, it’s Roberto; with a second FA Cup win almost in his grasp !

But at the end of the day throwing away four points against lowly and out of form sides count as shit results. That was an awfull result today against a very poor outfit following on from poor individual performances by some last week. We haven’t lost many with our cautious play but in May all these drawn games could be the difference between derbys next season with Nob End and Blackburn or league one derbys with Noblot Bury Dale Fleetwood and Owdham.

And our goal difference could be the difference between promotion or play offs.

Watched this in the Marquee last night – Whilst I agree that was a good point in the circumstances, if Milwall had any decent strikers or had taken their chances, this could easily have been a serious whitewash – we lacked any pace from the off, kept giving the ball away, couldn’t find our men and looked lethargic. Still, a great point nevertheless. Oh and ref was absolute shite.

What if doesn’t make any difference; it’s what happens that matters !

What if Robles hadn’t kept Tevez from scoring a certain goal at Wembley ?

What if Morsey hadn’t been sent off last night ?

What if Bill Kenyon had re-located us to Skelmersdale ?

What if DW had never bought the club ?

See what I mean.

Ain’t felt like this for a long a nervous wreck. Everything crossed for Gary and the lads tonight C,Mon Wigan.

First & foremost, just got to concentrate on our own game. After that, Burton may not find it easy at Sheff Utd and Gillingham at Fleetwood. If lady luck is on our side we could go top !

in reply to: Possibly our best ever transfer windows. #147450

These last two windows have probably been our best ever. Young hungry and ambitious players brought in without breaking the bank this time on top of the blend of experience and youth last summer. It has been a refreshing change from the fire sales and cashing in sales of the last ten tears or so. The chairman did say that the scouting and recruitment was to be improved and that has certainly been the case. Well done Latics.

The players at the start of the season obviously took a bit of time to get to know each other, but the players brought in during the window have slotted right in and look like they have been with us all season.
Well done to the Manager and his scouting team.
Yes, and we didn’t fanny around until one hour before the transfer window closed. We had our targets and got straight down to business. I was impressed.

So folk in Barrow and Millom don’t drive past Barrows Rugby ground on the way to Wigan. Also if your out of town thing was aimed at LHL well that’s where he lives now but he is from Wrightington that is is in Metro Kremlin Borough of Wigan. Ei I ei I ei I oh!

Yes Donny you are correct and obviously did your homework before putting the boot in; unlike Egg. The Postcode on my birth certificate is WN6. I’ve always followed the Latics and always thought of Rugby League as a marginal and uninteresting sport for fat kids who couldn’t run fast enough to play football. That perception has stayed with me from my youth.
Wonder how many Wigan RL fans can claim to be born within the Wigan post code ?

If they need a lift to widnes its only 5 minutes over the bridge for me.

At least it’s less travelling for Anglesy Warrior; but what about those Whitehaven Warriors

That’s a bit negative. We’re still in with a great chance of automatic promotion.

Correct GL; a win next week followed by Walsall dropping points the week after at Burton and things could look a lot different.
Also Gillingham go to a re-vitalised Oldham, next week. Gillingham have still to play Walsall, Coventry, Burton & Millwall.
Still 45 points to play for, so it’s far from being over !

Now that’s what I call astute journalism :woohoo: :woohoo:

Another fact to throw in the mix whilst there is an us and them malarkey going on, is that the rugby fudge crowds because of the salary cap.

I’m talking as much as 2-3,000 for some games. I believe they may count all season ticket holders as being in the ground, even though when they play the bottom teams or should I say half the super league teams, a significant percentage of the season ticket holders don’t bother to turn up.

I have heard they double up the actual attendance for the official attendance as each fan is so fucking fat they take two seats up.
It’s not proper rugby anyway; it’s just a cheap and nasty version for fatties that can’t run as fast as their Union counterparts. It’s a bit like 400mt crawl with water wings.

in reply to: Let’s have a voty thing #147152

I vote for HORC as Chairman of the Eggs Out campaign !

Have we anyone to second that ?

in reply to: New Pitch #147151
Owning and running their own stadium would have and still would divert the money away from the players budget which has been the reason for the Eggs success. Or do they not finish in the top group in the league every season. Off course they do. A giant fish in a tiny pond but propped up by Dave Whelans generosity who saved them from extinction and gave them a new home with the security of an affordable lease.
Yes Dave did give Latics the tiny fish in a huge ocean the same security but we moved there owning our ground and land and not homeless and moved there to progress and not because Bolton Wanderers had rejected us. Most Latics fans have done something that many Rugby fans haven’t and that is show Whelan some gratitude for this and still do. With respect to you Egg Mon you support both clubs loyally but some of us just can not and never will forget the past.

Donny, don’t forget that thugby league is a Minority sport; so it is much easier to compete and win trophies by playing Johnny Big Bollocks and splashing the cash around.
