I for one was always an admirer of his qualities & what he was trying to do during his time at wigan. It was the manner in the way he left that turned love into hate.
Correct, he got unconditional support from me.
So; How long before bottom four Bob has Everton at the wrong end of the table; I think his bubble will burst next season, unless he jumps ship again !
Plays well and then lunges in giving away a penalty.Don’t really think he lunged in to be fair. Junior Toilet cleverly slipped the ball past Caldwell and made a meal of the tackle ( only a little less exaggerated than James McClean ). He knew exactly what he was doing and timed it to perfection !
The Manchester City version after last seasons cup final was funny, this one is not the slightest bit funny, the Wigan Casino subject just doesn’t work. Not even the mention that it could be Dave Whelan’s fault ?
Spot on Lowey !
These Johnny big Bollocks loan players are not really fighting for anything, since I can’t imagine them seeing their future at the Latics; even if we make the Premiership. Probably already on a beach in Marbella, in their head. Are you suggesting that we shouldn’t sign any players on loan? That might put us at an even greater disadvantage.
Powell was a success when he arrived. Indeed, he offered a rare ray of hope during Coyle’s miserable reign. What has changed?[/quote]
Not suggesting we don’t use loans; but if we do they’ve got to “die for the cause”. I was basically intimating that some of them with egos / attitude don’t really give a toss whether the Latics win or not. So based on that criteria who is the best and worst loan players that have ever played for us ?
In my humble opinion those two highlight everything thats wrong with english football.
Both been given too much too soon whilst achieving nothing.
Powell in particular thinks hes better than he actually is.
Give me a much maligned gary caldwells passion and commitment over the so called strutting show pony any day.Spot on Lowey !

quote]One man doesn’t make a team, or does he ? On the flip side I think we are better off without McCarthy; it has allowed McArthur to take a better hold of the game.
Midfield was the difference today; we had energy & creativity !
Maybe bottom four Bob will get the job that he has longed for since his arrival in the Premier League; when we beat Arsenal and “old windmill arms” quits !
How can it be a good thing Jordi won’t be here next season? He’s by far our most influential midfielder. His control of situations is superb, his first touch, his vision, he’s always looking for creative options. I can’t see what’s not to like. Even his work rate’s improved under Uwe. We always look a more balanced team with him in it. He has a knack of winning free kicks in dangerous positions, and is the best free kick taker (Maloney aside) at the club. He’s got a pretty decent goal scoring record too. There you go, Jordi Gomez, sign him up!
Got to say, that like many of us, I can’t claim to be an immediate fan of Jordi Gomez. However, I think his application is far better under Uwe than it ever was under Roberto ( maybe too much of a “friend” thing going on there ); hence I would like to see him stay.
Just wished that JR & the Duke had stayed together for our first season in the Prem; but the Duke buggered off to Mecca !
Dare I suggest that “we take the positives from the game” ? Just like the good old days
What a club we support. The bigger the obstacle they put in our way the higher we rise to the challenge. The more they write us off the more we achieve. If I live till im hundred this incredible club will continue to amaze. On so many occasions over the last 40 yrs I have had good reason to be proud of Wigan Ath. Thank god I had enough sense as a kid to follow my town’s team instead of being just one of the sheep and supported Utd, City, Liverpool etc. The magnificent Latics have more than repaid me for my support and have given us all the greatest story ever. :)Without doubt, the Biggest “Little Club” in British footballing history !!!
It’s just brilliant being a Latics Mon !!!Out of all cups, down to their lowest position in the table this season, I hope he gets his Ipad out and shows you how he’s managed that Mr Kenwright!

Owd Bill will never watch it 27 times though !!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
City have strengthened considerably since last season and have arguably a much stronger squad than last season.
We on the other hand have cut back drastically on last season, wages wise, and on paper have a weaker team, but overall we may have a stronger squad of players.
What we have regained under Rosler though is the belief that we can beat anyone, the whole squad works their bollocks off for each and we have learned how to defend and soak up pressure.
Overall I tend to agree with you though, this was probably a bigger upset than the victory in May, and the prize again is another trip to Wembley, the home of football and of Wigan Athletic.Just remind me; how many times have little Wigan been to Wembley – I’ve lost count now !
At least he’ll be able to take the positives from the game, and share them with the Everton fans !Hope he was watching our game, just in case he couldn’t find anything positive to tell em on Monday morning. At least he can claim it’s all down to the legacy that he left at Wigan ( I think not ).
